- When finished using the device or for cleaning, pull out the mains plug
- Do not use the device while bathing.
- Never immerse the device or the cable with plug-in mains adapter in water or other liquids.
- If the device should fall into water, be absolutely sure to pull the mains adapter out of the socket with earth contact before reaching into the water.
- Never hold the mains adapter if your hands are wet, particularly if you want to plug it into the socket with earth contact or unplug it again.
- Hold the mains adapter at the case when you pull it out of the socket with earth contact.
- Installation of a residual current circuit breaker with a rated release current of not more than 30 mA offers additional protection against electric shock.
Have the installation performed by a trained electrician only.
Use only the original mains adapter included with the device for mains operation.
- Connect the mains adapter only to an easily accessible socket with earth contact.
• To avoid excessive heating, do not cover up the mains adapter - Check the mains adapter and the hair/beard trimmer regularly for any mechanical defects.
- Replace any defective parts with an original part (specialist shop), but never attempt to repair a defective device yourself.
- Have repairs carried out only by a speciality retailer or by our Service Centre.
- Keep the hair/beard trimmer and mains adapter away from children, because children are not always able to judge hazards correctly.
- Make sure that the cable does not get caught in cupboard doors or pulled across hot surfaces.

Risk of electric shock!
To avoid injury, observe the following
- Never use the device with a defective comb attachment, because such an attachment could have sharp edges. There is a risk of injury
To guarantee perfect operation - Always operate the device only according to the information on the rating plate in order to allow optimal function.
- Do not subject the hair/beard trimmer to temperatures less than +10^ or greater than +40^ .
- Clean the device thoroughly after each use. • This device is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with restricted physical, sensory or mental capabilities or a lack of experience and/or lack of knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for safety or receive instructions from that person on how the device is to be used
BEFORE USE
The hair/beard trimmer can be used as a cordless or mains device.
Operation with the mains adapter:
First plug the mains adapter cable plug into the device, and then connect the mains adapter to the power supply system (230 V \~). A charging level display (CHARGE) lights up. The hair/ beard trimmer is ready for immediate use in mains operation.
CHARGING THE BATTERIES AND CORDLESS OPERATION:
- Make certain that the device is switched off.
Before the first use, you should charge the batteries of the hair/beard trimmer for a least 16 hours.
For subsequent charges, a charging time of approximately 8 hours is sufficient. Fully charged batteries allow cordless use for approximately 50 minutes.
- Place the device into the charging station.
- Plug the mains adapter cable into the connection on the back of the charging station.
- Connect the mains adapter to a suitable socket with earth contact (230 V \~).
The LED charging level indicators (CHARGE) on the device light, one after the other, and indicate the charging process.
The charging level display, which is equipped with light-emitting diodes (LEDs), is located on the front of the device. It shows the current charging status.
The LEDs light blue, one after the other, starting with 20%. The other LEDs also light constantly as soon as the respective charging level has been reached. When the rechargeable batteries have been fully charged, all LEDs light at the same time.
When only the lowest LED (20%) lights, you should charge the batteries fully again as soon as possible.
If you are using your hair/beard trimmer and it comes to a standstill because of low batteries, you can continue trimming by plugging it into the wall power supply. The hair/beard trimmer is equipped with two Ni-MH heavy duty rechargeable batteries with overcharge protection.
It can be recharged without power restrictions; there is no risk of an overcharge.
The rechargeable batteries in the hair/beard trimmer reach their optimal performance after they have been charged and discharged three times. Completely discharge the batteries before charging them again in order to guarantee a long battery life.
To completely discharge the device, run it until it comes to a complete standstill
OPERATION

The hair that you want to trim should be clean and dry.
- Comb through the hair carefully to remove any tangles
- Lay a hairdressing cape or towel around the throat and neck in order to keep the cut hair from falling under the collar

Make sure that both pins of the attachment snap into place correctly in the recesses at the side of the trimming head holder

Risk of injury!
You can cut hair to a length between 0.8 mm and 2.8 mm if you do not use a cutting length attachment
For fi ne adjustment of the length, slide the setting to the desired length
