How to use the cold lamination function?

Set the switch to the Cold position and wait for the indicator light. Insert the pouch with the document, closed end first.

What to do in case of a paper jam?

Use the reverse function by pressing the Reverse button. If necessary, turn off the power and carefully remove the pouch.

What type of pouch to use?

Use laminating pouches of 80 to 125 microns suitable for hot or cold machines. The width must not exceed 230 mm.

How to clean the rollers?

Run a clean sheet of scrap paper through the hot machine (without a pouch) to remove residue. For deep cleaning, use a cloth soaked with isopropyl alcohol.

Why does the red light stay on?

The red light indicates that the machine is heating. Wait until it turns green to start laminating. If the red light flashes, check the thermal safety features.

Can I laminate photos?

Yes, but use the cold lamination function for heat-sensitive photos. Otherwise, set the temperature to low to avoid damaging the image.

How to avoid air bubbles?

Make sure the document is well centered in the pouch and use a pouch slightly larger than the document. Feed the pouch into the machine in a straight line.

What is the lifespan of the rollers?

The rollers generally last several thousand laminations. Regular maintenance and the use of quality pouches extend their lifespan.

Can I laminate cardstock?

Yes, up to a thickness of 250 g/m². For thicker cardstock, use suitable pouches and the hot lamination function with a high temperature.

• The machine is for indoor use only. Plug the machine into an easily accessible socket.
• To prevent electrical shock - do not use the appliance close to water, do not spill water on to the appliance, power cord or wall socket.

DO ensure the machine is on a stable surface.

DO test laminate scrap sheets and set the machine before final laminations.

DO remove staples and other metal articles prior to laminating.

DO keep the machine away from heat and water sources.

DO turn off the machine after each use.

DO unplug the machine when not in use for an extended period.

DO use pouches designed for use at the appropriate settings.

FEATURES & TIPS

'Release' function

To remove or re-align a pouch during lamination, activate the release lever located on the back of the machine. The pouch can only be removed from the entry slot when the lever is activated.

• For best results, use Fellowes ® brand pouches: 3 mil.
• This machine does not need a carrier to laminate. It is a carrier-free mechanism.

• Always put the item to be laminated into the appropriate sized pouch.

• Always test laminate with a similar size and thickness before final process.

• Prepare pouch and item for lamination. Place item within pouch centered and touching the leading sealed edge. Ensure the pouch is not too large for the item.
• If required, trim excess material from around the item after lamination and cooling.

SETTING UP THE LAMINATOR

1. Ensure the machine is on a stable surface.

2. Check there is enough clear space (min 20") behind the machine to allow items to pass through freely.

3. Plug the machine into an easily accessible main socket.

HOW TO LAMINATE

1. Switch the power on (located at the side of the machine).
2. The red 'Power on' lamp will light up. The machine is now heating up.
3. When the machine is ready, the green 'Ready' lamp will remain on.

4. Place the document into the open pouch. Ensure the document is centered against the sealed edge. Use the appropriate pouch size for the document.

5. Ensure the pouch enters the machine sealed edge first. Keep the pouch straight and central within the slot, not on an angle. Use the entry markings as a guide.

6. Upon exit, the laminated pouch may be hot and soft. To prevent jamming remove the pouch immediately. Place pouch on to a flat surface to cool. Take care when handling a hot pouch.
7. To release a pouch during lamination, activate the release lever located on the back of the machine. Gently pull pouch out of machine.

STORAGE & CLEANING

Switch off the machine at the wall. Allow the machine to cool. The outside of the machine can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents or flammable materials to polish the machine. Cleaning sheets can be purchased for use with the machine. When the machine is warm — run the sheets through the machine to clean any residue off the rollers. For optimum performance, it is recommended that cleaning sheets are used with the machine regularly. (Cleaning sheet order code #5320603).
