How do I adjust the DPI settings?

You can adjust DPI using the dedicated DPI button on the mouse or via the ASUS Armoury Crate software. Press the DPI button to cycle through preset levels (default: 800, 1600, 3200, 6400).

Can I customize the RGB lighting?

Yes, the ASUS GX860 supports customizable RGB lighting effects. Use the ASUS Armoury Crate software to choose from static, breathing, color cycle, or reactive modes, and adjust colors to your preference.

Is the mouse compatible with macOS?

Yes, it works with macOS as a standard USB mouse. However, advanced customization features (like button remapping and lighting) require the ASUS Armoury Crate software, which is only available for Windows.

How do I clean the mouse?

What should I do if the cursor moves erratically?

First, clean the sensor lens with a dry cotton swab. Ensure you are using the mouse on a non-reflective surface (mouse pad recommended). Check for dust or debris in the sensor area. Adjust the DPI setting to a lower sensitivity.

Is the cable detachable?

No, the USB cable is attached to the mouse. It is a braided cable with a cable tie for management. The connector is a standard USB-A plug.

Can I use the mouse with a console?

The ASUS GX860 is designed for PC and Mac. It may work with some consoles (e.g., PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One) via USB, but button customization and lighting features will not be accessible without the software.

Connect your ASUS GX860 Gaming Mouse to your computer's USB port.

Customizing your mouse (DPI values / Macro commands / Button functions)

Go to ASUS website at www.asus.com to download the latest driver and install it to customize your mouse's DPI values, Macro commands, and button functions.

Using the setup utility

Do either of the following to launch the setup utility:

• Click the ASUS ROG Gaming Mouse GX860 shortcut on the Windows® desktop.
• Click Start > All Programs > ASUS > ASUS ROG Gaming Mouse GX860 > ASUS ROG Gaming Mouse GX860.
  • Right-click the icon √ from the Windows® taskbar, then select Launch GX860 APP.
  On Windows® 8, click ASUS ROG Gaming Mouse GX860 from the Start screen.

Main menu

Items Descriptions
1.	Click to connect to ASUS official website.
2.	Click to connect to ASUS ROG official website.
3.	Click to connect to ASUS Shop official website.
4.	Click each tab to display the selected profile menu.
5.	Click to run the Macro Management*Refer to Page 16 for detailed instructions.
6.	Click to run the Button setting.
7.	Select an item to change the Button setting.
8.	Click to reset the Button setting.
9.	Click to choose the number of DPI resolution stages that you want to implement.
10.	Tick / Untick to enable / disable the Independent X-Y instruction.
11.	Click the tachometer to get rough DPI resolution or key in the DPI resolution you need in the column.
12.	Click to reset DPI resolution.
13.	Click to export or import a profile to your computer.
14.	Click to reset all settings to the factory defaults.
15.	Click to go to Advanced Setting.
16.	Click to apply all setting.
17.	Click to apply and save and exit the program.
18.	Click to run the Lighting Setting.
19.	Select an item to change the Lighting Setting.

	FastFindTM	When selected, press the button to launch FastFindTM.
	E-mail	When selected, press the button to launch your default E-mail application.* This function only works under Windows® XP / Vista / 7 operating systems.
Rapid Fire	3 times	When selected, press the button to do a rapid fire in a click-to-attack game, which is the same as clicking the left mouse for 3 / 5 times.* Rapid fire times (3x/5x) may vary with different game settings.

	Auto
Keyboard		Allows you to combine/record three keys to the maximum.
Button Off		Disables the button function.
Launch GX860 APP		When selected, press the button to launch this setup utility.
Macro Macro List		Allows you to select the Macro that you want to assign and the Macro play mode.* Refer to the table on the next page for the Macro play mode.
Snap Switch	Click once	Switch the DPI to specific resolution through just one click, and click once again to shift to the original DPI.
	Click and hold	Click and hold the button to switch the DPI to specific resolution. Release the button to go back to the original one.
	Customized	Click the button to switch the DPI to specific resolution during customized period. The DPI would shift to the original one automatically once the time is expired.

* If you use GX860 on another computer, some of the button functions that you have previously configured on your computer will be reset to the default settings. Please install the application and configure the button functions again.

Macro Management

From the Main menu screen, click the Macro tab to enter Macro Management setup screen.

Items Descriptions
Timing	Tick this item to record the time between pressing down and releasing a button. (Default:12ms).
Insert	When this item is ticked, the new instruction will be inserted before the selected instruction. Otherwise, any new instruction will be given the first priority.
Start	Click to start recording the keystrokes and/or mouse actions.
Stop	Click to stop recording the keystrokes and/or mouse actions.
Clear	Click to clear all the saved instructions.
Move up / down	Click to move up/down the selected instruction.
Instruction cycle time	When Timing is not ticked, all the actions' delay time will be the value you chose from the dropdown list.
Loop	Sets the macro to run at a click and stop when you click again.

Macro Mode

Items Descriptions
Once per click	Select to perform the selected Macro profile once when clicking the mouse button.
Click to repeat, next click to stop	Select to repeat performing the selected Macro profile when clicking the mouse button, and click the button again to stop.
Click to repeat	From the dropdown list, select the number of times you want to repeat performing the selected Macro profile when clicking the mouse button.
Press to repeat	Select to repeat performing the selected Macro profile when pressing down your mouse button and release the button to stop

* Angle Snapping brings smooth and straight mouse movements. By default, Angle Snapping is disabled.
** The tracking function stops when you lift the mouse off the mouse pad or surface higher than your selected Lift Height. If you encounter irregular mouse movements when you are using your mouse on your mouse pad or surface, try selecting a level higher than your selected Lift Height.

* When a Macro function is not assigned to a mouse button, the Macro function and its name are stored in your computer. If you assign the Macro function to you mouse button and connect the mouse to another computer, the assigned Macro name changes automatically but does not affect the original Macro function.
