You can use the appliance to prepare tea and infusions. Use only the jug supplied. Any other use of the appliance is not intended by the Manufacturer who does not accept any responsibility for damages of any kind caused by improper use of the appliance itself. Improper use also results in any form of warranty being forfeited.

WARNINGS ON BURNS

  • Never fill the appliance beyond the maximum limit; there is a risk of spurts of boiling water.
  • Hot water, the jug and the power base may become very hot during the preparation of tea. Do not touch the power base when the unit is in operation, and the next few minutes after it is turned off.
    • Always close the lid of the jug before putting the appliance into operation.
  • WARNING: do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.
  • Lift the jug by its handle.

Identification data

The label under the power base shows the following identification data of the appliance:

PRELIMINARY PHASES FOR USE

Using the appliance for the first time

Before connecting the appliance to the mains check that the voltage indicated on the label under the power base matches with the local mains. Place the appliance on a horizontal and stable surface.

Warning!

Do not place the appliance or power cord close to or on top of hot electric or gas cookers, or close to a microwave oven.

Prevent the cord from protruding beyond the edge of the table or surface. Prevent children from grabbing the cord, in this way tipping over the appliance.

If the power cord is too long, wrap it under the power supply base (Fig. 3). The cable must not touch the hot parts of the appliance.

Position the appliance so that children cannot reach the hot parts.

Warning!

The water filling and emptying operations must be carried out with the jug separated from the power base.

Do not use the jug without water.

Boil the water the first time the appliance is turned on. Drain and rinse the jug. Repeat the operation two or three times.

Remove the jug from the power supply base. Rotate the lid in the filter holder extraction position (20). Remove the filter holder from the jug (Fig. 5). Fill the jug with fresh plain water to the desired level (Fig. 6). The level should never be less than two cups (Fig. 7).

Do not exceed the level indicated by MAX: danger of leakage of hot water from the jug.

Turn the lid in position (X19). Remove the lid and extract the tea filter (Fig. 8). Place the desired amount of tea in the filter. Place the tea filter in the filter holder. Place the filter holder into the jug. Close the lid and rotate it to align the reference with the closing symbol (21). Place the jug on the power base (2).

Insert the plug into the socket, which must be earthed. You will hear two beeps. Press the infusion start/delete button (11). The display shows the last temperature set. If you do not press any button, after 30 seconds the appliance turns off.

Press the infusion time button (14). The buttons (9) and (12) flash. Press the buttons to set the desired infusion time from 30 seconds to 8 minutes.

Press the infusion temperature setting button (13). The buttons (9) and (12) flash. Press the buttons to set the desired infusion temperature, from 70^ C ( 158^ F) up to 100^ C ( 212^ F).

If we want to maintain the temperature of the tea after the preparation phase has finished, press the function button (15). Press the infusion start/delete button (11) to start the preparation of tea.

When the water reaches the set temperature the key (13) stops flashing. The water pump is activated and continuously draws water from the jug bringing it in the filter holder. The infusion comes out of the filter holder that falls in the jug. The infusion phase will last time previously set. When you hear two beeps it means that also the infusion phase is terminated and the tea is ready to be tasted. The appliance turns off automatically after 30 seconds.

If you set the temperature hold function, it remains active for 20 minutes keeping the tea hot. At the end the appliance turns off automatically.

During the water heating and the infusion phase all buttons are disabled except the infusion start/delete button (11).

To stop the tea preparation cycle at any time, press the button (11).

Warning!

Do not open the lid of the jug while the water is boiling. Danger of spurts of boiling water.

Make sure the appliance is turned off before lifting the jug from the power base.

Lift the jug by its handle. Remove the jug from the power base. Pour the tea into the cups. After each use, empty the tea remained in the jug.

The presence of droplets of water under the jug is completely normal: it is only condensation.

To save energy: boil only the water needed; even if the appliance is turned off, the tea remains at the best temperature ( 90^ C/194°F) for more than 5 minutes; when not in use, always remove the plug from the power outlet.

All cleaning operations described below must be made with power off and the electrical plug disconnect from the power outlet.

Regular maintenance and cleaning preserve and maintain the appliance efficient for a longer period.

Never wash the appliance components in the dishwasher. Do not use direct jets of water.

All operations must be performed when the machine is cold.

Clean the appliance using a damp, non-abrasive cloth so as to not damage the body. Dry.

Cleaning the filter holder

The filter holder must be cleaned periodically with warm water and simple detergent.

Tea filter cleaning

The tea filter must be cleaned periodically with warm water and simple detergent. If the tea does not come out from the filter holder or comes out slowly it is necessary to remove the tea residues inside it. If necessary, use a brush.

Prevent waste tea leaves from entering the jug as they could be sucked by the pump and clog the water circulation ducts.

Removing lime

A good maintenance and regular cleaning preserve and maintain the appliance efficient for a longer period greatly reducing the risk of scale formation. However, should your coffee machine fail to work properly as a result of the frequent use of hard, high calcium content water, you may perform a decalcification procedure to restore its operational efficiency. For this purpose you must use only the Ariete citric acid-based decalcifying products (NOCAL). This product is easily found at the Ariete technical service centres. Ariete does not assume any responsibility whatsoever for damage to components inside the machine caused by the use of non-compliant products containing chemical additives. Should you need to decalcify your appliance, please follow the instructions which come with the decalcifying product.

PUTTING OUT OF SERVICE

In the case of decommissioning of the appliance, it must be electrically disconnected. Cut the power cord. In case of scrapping you will be required to separate the various materials used in the construction of the appliance and dispose of them according to their composition and to the applicable laws in the country of use.
