SAFETY INFORMATION
Please read the following information and 1. keep it for future reference.
This appliance is not intended for use by 2. persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities or with lack of experience or lack of knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety or have been instructed on how to use the appliance.
Children should be supervised in order 3. to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
Connect appliance only to an AC power 5. supply with voltage corresponding to the voltage on the rating plate.
Do not operate this appliance with an 6. external timer or remote control system.
Never immerse the appliance or the power 7. cord in water or other liquids.
The base should never come into contact 8. with water or other liquids. In case this ever happens, it must be completely dry before operating the appliance again.
Do not clean the electric kettle or the base 9. in a dish-washer.
Never touch the appliance or power cord 10. with wet hands.
This appliance is intended to be used in 11. household and similar applications such as:
staff kitchen areas in shops, of ces and ■ other working environments;
farm houses; ■
by client in hotels, motels and other ■ working environments;
bed and breakfast type environments. ■
- For safety reasons, never place the appliance on hot surfaces, a metal tray or a wet surface.
Do not place the appliance or power cord 13. near openames during operation.
Always use the electric kettle on a level, 14. uncluttered and heat-resistant surface.
Make sure that the power cord does not hang 15. over the edge of the countertop or table, since this can cause accidents, for example if small children pull on the cord.
Route the power cord so that there is no 16. possibility of the cord being pulled or tripped over.
Never wrap the power cord around the 17. appliance.
- Use the electric kettle only indoors.
Use the appliance only for heating water. Do 19. not use it to heat milk or other liquids, since they will boil over when heated.
Never heat objects such as cans or bottles in 20. the electric kettle.
Make sure that the lid of the appliance is 21. always completely closed, to prevent injuries from hot splashing water.
Do not open the lid as long as the water 22. is boiling, to prevent injuries from hot splashing water.
Never Ⅱ the appliance with more than 23. 1.2 liters of water, to prevent the water from boiling over.
Never switch on the appliance if there is no 24. water in the kettle.
Make sure that all users, especially child-25. ren, are aware of the danger of injury from emerging steam or hot splashing water – danger of burns!
Do not move the appliance as long as it is in 26. operation, to prevent burns from splashing water.
The electric kettle features boil dry protec-27. tion, which means the appliance shuts off automatically if the heating element becomes too hot. Allow the appliance to cool about 15 minutes. Then ll the electric kettle with cold water. The boil dry protection
is deactivated and the appliance is ready for operation again.
Do not use the appliance with accessories 28. of other manufacturers or brands, to prevent damage.
Unplug the appliance from the power supply 29. after use and prior to cleaning. Never leave the appliance unattended when it is plugged in to the power supply.
Check the appliance, the plug and the 30. power cord regularly for wear or damage. In case of damage to the power cord or other parts, please send the appliance or the base for inspection and repair to our after sales service (for address, see warranty terms). Unauthorized repairs can result in serious risks to the user and void the warranty.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be 31. replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

Caution!
Do not open the lid while the water is boiling. If the kettle is over lled, boiling water can splash out.
The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties.
BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE THE FIRST TIME
- Remove all packaging materials and any transport safety devices.
Clean all parts with a damp cloth, as 2. described in the chapter “Cleaning and care” on page 11.
Check to make sure that the appliance is 3. stable.
Connect the base via the power cord to the 4. power supply (220-240 V\~, 50-60 Hz).
Remove the kettle from the base. 5.
Open the lid by pressing the button at the 6. handle.
- Add clear, cold water to the "Max" marking.
- Close the lid by pressing lightly.
- Place the kettle level on the base.
Switch on the kettle by pressing the ON/10. OFF switch downwards into the „I“-position.
The kettle cannot be switched on if it is not properly seated on the base.
When the water boils, the appliance auto-11. matically shuts off.
For hygienic reasons, please discard the 12. water from the rst boiling.
OPERATION
Remove the kettle from the base. 1.
- Open the lid.
-
Fill the kettle with at least 0.4 liters of water. Do not ll the kettle with more than 1.2 liters of water ("Max" marking).
-
Close the lid by pressing lightly.
- Place the kettle level on the base.
Switch on the kettle by pressing the ON/6. OFF switch downwards into the „I“-position.
The kettle cannot be switched on if it is not properly seated on the base.
When the water boils, the appliance 7. automatically shuts off.
Whenever you take the kettle off the base, 8. the appliance is automatically switched off, even if the water is not yet boiling.
Of course you may also push the switch into 9. the „O“-position to interrupt heating.
If you want to boil more water, please allow 10. the appliance to cool off for a few minutes.
Boiling water can cause scalding. Therefore, 11. please handle the appliance with care when it contains hot water.
The appliance features boil dry protection. 12. When operated without water or with excessive scaling, the appliance shuts off automatically. If this happens, please allow the appliance to cool off brie y before lling it with water again or descale the appliance as described in the chapter “Descaling” on page 11.
CLEANING AND CARE
Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning it.1.
Before cleaning, always turn off the appliance and 2. unplug it from the power supply.
Do not immerse the base, power cord or 3. kettle in water or other liquids or wash them in the dishwasher.
Wipe off the base and the kettle with a damp 4. cloth and a little dishwashing detergent. Do not use any abrasive scouring agents, steel
wool, metal objects, hot cleaning agents or disinfectants, since they can damage the appliance.
The appliance must be completely dry on 5. the outside before you use it again.
DESCALING
The lime scale Iter has to be cleaned 1. regularly. Please empty the kettle completely and allow it to cool off. Carefully remove the Iter from the pour spout. Clean the Iter carefully with a soft brush under running water. You can also place the Iter in a bowl with a descaling solution. Then rinse the Iter with clear water and insert it in the pour spout.
To keep the appliance operating ef ciently 2. and to prolong its service life, it should be descaled regularly, depending on the hardness of your water.
To descale the kettle, ll it no more than 3. half full with a solution of half water and half household vinegar. Bring the liquid to a boil and leave it in the kettle for a while.
Pour the descaling solution out of the 4. kettle.
Then 11 it with fresh water and bring to a 5. boil. Pour this water out as well. Then rinse the kettle at least twice with clear water.
Of course, you can also use commercially 6. available descaling products; please follow the instructions on the package.

In the event of a claim for remedy of defects, please send the appliance to our after sales service, properly packaged and postage paid, together with a copy of the automatically generated sales receipt, which must show the date of purchase, and a description of the defect. If the defect is covered by the warranty, the customer will be reimbursed for the shipping costs. The warranty does not cover damage from normal wear, improper handling and failure to comply with the maintenance and care instructions. The warranty is void if repairs or modifications are made to the appliance by third parties.
Any claims of the end consumer vis-à-vis the retailer are not limited by this warranty.
