APPLIANCE USE

• The Cover (2) of the kettle is easy to take off.
- In pouring water into the kettle, the water level must be kept within the range of the maximum and minimum water levels set by the Scale (5).
- Place the kettle on the Stand (1), insert the plug into the socket, switch it on and the water will start to be heated up when the indicative light on.
- When the water boiling the Switch (4) will automatically bounce up, the indicative light will go out, and the kettle will automatically cut off the electricity. If the water in the kettle is to be re-boiled, one should wait a few minutes until the contact of the automatic device is restored.

Notes:

• Make sure that there is water in the kettle when it is plugged in.
- If water is found on the table or under the kettle, it is a normal phenomenon due to the condensation of water vapor.

CLEANING

  • The plug must be pulled out of the socket and allow the kettle to cool down before cleaning.
  • First wipe the exterior of the kettle and its Stand (1) with a wet cloth, and then dry them with a dry cloth.
    • Always keep the Stand (1) clean and dry.
  • Be sure not to use coarse cleaning objects or else the case body will be damaged out of rubbing.
  • Clean the inside of the kettle with a cloth dipped into a cleanser and wash it clean with water.
    • Take out the filter and wash it with clean water.

Note: Water in some areas contains chalk, so the water in the kettle may look a bit turbid. Once the water boils, it will turn into sediment of float on the surface of the water. This is no harm and can be cleaned at regular intervals.

Descaling

Scale build-up will cause the element to overheat, reducing its working life. It may also cause the safety cut out to operate prematurely, switching the kettle off before the water boils.

As the element is mounted beneath the kettle, there are no awkward nooks and crannies for the scale to get a foothold. It can build up only on the walls and floor of the kettle, where it can be seen and dealt with.

To minimize scale build-up:

  1. Empty the kettle after each use; do not allow water to stay in the kettle overnight; use filtered water instead of ordinary tap water.
  2. Descale the kettle regularly using a proprietary brand of descaler suitable for use in kettles. In areas of very hard water descaling may be necessary as often as once a month.
  3. When descaling, follow the instructions on the packet of descaler. When descaling has finished, empty the kettle and rinse it out several times with fresh water, then fill with fresh water, boil, and discard the water. This should ensure that no chemical residues are left in the kettle.

Note: Products returned during the guarantee period with faults that are directly related to scale build-up will be subject to a repair charge.

Water filter

The scale particles that remain suspended in the water may give it a cloudy or greasy appearance, depending on the hardness of the water.

The filter fitted to your kettle will prevent these particles passing into your drink. You must ensure that the filter is kept clean and clear of deposits otherwise the performance of your kettle may be adversely affected, your drinks may contain scale particles, and the water inside the kettle may look cloudy.

You should clean the filter whenever there are any noticeable deposits left on it, and especially if pouring is affected in any way.

  1. Make sure that your hands are clean and free from soap, hand cream, or anything else which might leave a taint.
  2. Open the Cover (2).
  3. Grip the top of the filter and pull it up, out of the kettle. Rinse it under a tap whilst brushing it with a

soft brush. Rinse the kettle out with fresh water, in case any scale particles have fallen inside.

  1. Place kettle on the worktop and locate the filter into the Mouth (3).

Note: To prevent damage to the filter, avoid pressing the mesh.
