Please retain for future reference.
- Keep the appliance under careful supervision when it is used by, or near children.
- Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the rated voltage on the type plate.
- Switch off the appliance and unplug the power cord before filling, emptying and/or cleaning, and when the appliance is not in use.
- Do not overfill the kettle, this can cause boiling water to overflow. Only fill with cold water.
- Do not use or place the appliance on, or near hot surfaces.
- Do not allow the power cord to hang over the edge of a table or worktop, or to come into contact with hot surfaces.
- Never carry or pull the appliance by the power cord. Do not pull the power cord to unplug the plug.
- A damaged power cord must be replaced by an authorised service centre, or qualified person, to ensure safe use.
- Do not touch hot parts. Use the handle and knobs.
- Keep your face, hands and other parts of your body away from the spout when the appliance is in use – risk of scalding from hot steam.
- Place the appliance on a suitable pad if it used on sensitive surfaces.
- Check that the lid is closed before switching on the appliance.
- Never open the lid when boiling up the water – risk of scalding.
- Open the lid carefully when there is hot water in the kettle.
- Handle the kettle with care when there is hot water in it. Never lift the kettle by the lid. Always use the handle.
- Do not switch on the appliance if there is no water in it.
- Never immerse the appliance, the power cord or plug in water or any other liquid.

Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of flammable liquids or gases.
- The appliance must only be used as it is intended to be used and in accordance with these instructions.
- The appliance is not intended to be used by persons (children or adults) with any form of functional disorders, or by persons who do not have sufficient experience or knowledge on how to use it, unless they have received instructions concerning the use of the appliance from someone who is responsible for their safety.
- Keep children under supervision to make sure they do not play with the appliance.

DESCRIPTION
The appliance is intended for household use, or for use in staff rooms, hotel rooms or other similar places.

OPERATION
Use
- Before using for the first time, fill the kettle with water, boil up, and pour out the water. Repeat once.
- Switch off the appliance and unplug the power cord before filling.
- Fill the kettle with water. Do not overfill - risk of spilling or splashing. Use the level markings. Fill the kettle through the spout, or open the lid. Check that the lid is closed before switching on the appliance, otherwise the appliance may not switch off properly.
- The minimum amount of water is 5 dl (to the MIN marking), otherwise there is a risk that it will boil dry.
- The maximum amount of water is 1.7 litres (to the MAX marking).
- The appliance has an overheating protection which automatically switches it off if it is switched on with too little water in the kettle. If the overheating protection trips, switch off the appliance, unplug the power cord and allow the appliance to cool for 5–10 minutes. Fill the kettle with water and switch on.
- Place the base on a dry, level surface. Put the kettle on the base. The kettle automatically connects to the power supply when it is put on the base.
- Plug the power cord into an earthed mains outlet and switch on the appliance by moving the power switch on the kettle to the ON position.
- When the water has boiled the appliance switches off automatically and the power switch moves to the OFF position. Wait for at least 15–20 seconds after the appliance has switched off before moving the power switch to the ON position again, otherwise this could damage the appliance.
• Always switch off the appliance before lifting the kettle from the base. - Switch off the appliance with the power switch if you do not want to boil up the water again.
- You can switch off the appliance at any time by moving the power switch to the OFF position.
MAINTENANCE
Cleaning and care
- If necessary, wipe the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth. Stains can be removed with a cloth moistened with water and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive detergents or objects.
NOTE! Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Scale can become deposited on the heater element in time, depending on the hardness of the water, which can reduce its functionality. Descale the appliance regularly for best functionality and taste.
Descaling
Descale the appliance regularly (at least 2 times a year for normal use).
- Fill the kettle to the MAX marking with a mixture of 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water. Move the power switch to the ON position and wait until the appliance switches off automatically.
- Leave the water in the kettle overnight.
- Pour out the water.
- Fill the kettle to the MAX marking and boil up.
- Pour out the water.
- Rinse the inside of the kettle with clean water.
STORAGE
Wipe the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth. Store the appliance in a dry place at room temperature.
