USE

NOTE:

  • Before using for the first time, fill the kettle with water, boil up, and pour out the water. Repeat once more.
  • The minimum water volume used with the kettle is 5 dl. The kettle has an overheating protection which automatically switches it off if it is switched on with too little water in the kettle. If the overheating protection trips:

  • Switch off the kettle, unplug the power cord and allow the kettle to cool for 5–10 minutes.

  • Fill the kettle with water and switch on the kettle.

  • You can switch off the kettle at any time by moving the power switch to the OFF position.

  • Wait for at least 15–20 seconds after the kettle has switched off before moving the power switch to the ON position again, otherwise this could damage the kettle.

  • Place the base on a dry, level surface.

  • Fill the kettle with water through the spout, or open the lid. Make sure the kettle is switched off and disconnected from the mains power supply before filling.

  • Do not overfill, use level markings for the maximum and minimum levels.

  • Check that the lid is closed before switching on the kettle, otherwise the kettle may not switch off properly.

  • Put the kettle on the base. Connect the power cord to an earthed mains outlet.

  • Switch on the kettle by moving the power switch on the kettle to the ON position.
  • When the water has boiled the kettle switches off automatically and the power switch moves to the OFF position.

- Always switch off the kettle before lifting the kettle from the base.

- Switch off the kettle with the power switch if you do not want to boil up the water again.

MAINTENANCE

CLEANING

  • If necessary, wipe the outside of the kettle with a damp cloth. Never immerse the kettle in water or any other liquid.
  • Stains can be removed with a cloth moistened with water and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive detergents or objects.
  • Scale can become deposited on the heater element in time, depending on the hardness of the water, which can reduce its functionality. Descale the kettle regularly for the best function and taste (at least 2 times a year for normal use).

Descaling

  1. Fill the kettle to the MAX marking with a mixture of 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water.
  2. Move the power switch to the ON position and wait until the kettle switches off automatically.
  3. Leave the water in the kettle overnight.
  4. Pour out the water.
  5. Fill the kettle to the MAX marking and boil up.
  6. Pour out the water.
  7. Rinse the inside of the kettle with clean water.

STORAGE

  • Wipe the outside of the kettle with a damp cloth. Store the kettle in a dry place at room temperature.
  • Remove the filter by pulling it straight up, and rinse with water.
