1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Attention: to avoid the risk of electric shock, do not remove the cover. The interior does not contain any parts that may be repaired by the user. Ask for assistance to qualified personnel.

Before using your appliance, read carefully this instruction manual and keep it in a safe place, as you may need it for future consultations.

Before you start your appliance, and to ensure a correct use, do not use it if:
- It has fallen on the ground;
- You notice any evidence of damage;
- Any anomaly occurs during its operation;
To avoid hazards and deterioration of your appliance by an incorrect use, it is advisable to read the instructions carefully and attentively.

This appliance can be used by children from 8 years old and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

1.1. Power Energy
Make sure the voltage of the electric network is compatible with the one of the appliance. If it does not match, consult the vendor or Customer Support Service.
1.2. Power Cord and Other Cables
Do not roll up or pull the cord to disconnect the appliance, and do not use to twine the appliance. Keep the cord far from warm surfaces.

Never use the appliance if it has a damaged cable or socket, or if it is not working properly.
In case of damage of the power cord, do not use your appliance. Take it to technical assistance for its replacement.
1.3. Humidity and Water
Do not use your appliance in humid places. Do not let your appliance to catch water under any circumstance, as it may be dangerous. TO AVOID FIRE HAZARD OR ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT EXPOSE YOUR APPLIANCE TO HUMIDITY OR WATER. Do not place your appliance under water (for example for washing).
1.4. Cleaning
Before undertaking any cleaning operation, disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
Wipe outside with a soft, dry cloth when appliance has cooled down completely, never use metal polish.
The detachable parts should be washed in hot soapy water. Rinse and dry them before reassembling.
Clean the filter and jug.
Clean the appliance about every 5 months so as to keep high efficiency.
Store the appliance in a dry and not very hot place.

1.5. General Precautions
- Please follow the instructions of the user manual, which helps properly installing and operating this product and enjoying its advanced features. Please keep the instructions for future reference.
- Read all instructions before using the appliance.
- Make sure your mains voltage corresponds to that specified on the appliance before plugging in.
- Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.
- Never unplug or move the appliance by pulling the cord. Do not wind the cord around the appliance or twist it.

This appliance is intended for household use and similar applications such as:

staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
- Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
- Make sure the cord never comes into contact with the hot parts of the appliance.

- Unplug unit from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service agent for examination, repair or adjustment.
- The supply cord should be regularly examined for signs of damage. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- Do not use coffee maker with a damaged outlet.
- Never use the appliance outdoors and always place it in a dry environment.
- Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
- Stand the appliance on a stable, flat surface.
- Only use fresh and cold water. Do not use water contained in bathtubs, wash-basins or other reservoirs.
- Never touch the hot parts of the appliance (be careful, also the warming

plate is a hot part!), only touch the plastic parts and the jug by the handle.
- Be careful not to get burned by the steam evaporating from the coffee filter.
- Never use accessories which are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.
- Never use the appliance if the jug shows any signs of cracks.
- Handle with care as the glass is very fragile if the appliance equipped with a glass jug. Never place the empty (or almost empty) glass jug on the hotplate when the coffee maker is in function, or on any other hot surfaces.
- Never use your coffee maker without water in it. If you have a programmable coffee maker, make sure to fill it with water before programming it.
- Always turn any control to “off” before unplugging from the outlet.
- Do not forget that the temperature of the coffee prepared is high. Handle with care your jug to avoid any risk of splashes.
- Keep the machine above 0^ C, otherwise any water in the machine will freeze and cause damage.

- Never use when water overflow.
- Make sure the appliance cools down before cleaning it or storing it.
- The appliance may give off some smoke and smell when you use it for the first time because of the oil on some parts but it will disappear after a few uses.
2. UTILIZATION AND FUNCTIONING
2.1. Product Description
- Top lid.
- Water tank.
- Filter cone.
- Anti drip.
- Jug.
- Switch.
- Warm plate.

2.2. Operation
- Uncover the top lid and fill in fresh cold water to required level.
- Put adequate quantity of coffee power or tea leaves into the filter or filter paper inside the filter cone.
- Close the top lid.
- Place the jug on the warm plate.
- Switch on the appliance by pressing the On/Off switch, the indicator lamp will light up and now the appliance starts to work.
- After brewing, the appliance will shut off automatically and the warm plate will keep the coffee or tea warm at above 70^ C in an hour.
2.3. Descaling
The appliance has to be descaled regularly to ensure optimum performance. The frequency depends on the water hardness and the brewing frequency.
If you begin to notice the increase of the noise during boiling, or a longer time of brewing time, this indicates that descaling is necessary.

Generally, the descaling should be done in the following periodicity:
- With little bit hard water, at least once a year.
- With middle hard water, at least once a trimester.

With hard water, at least once a month.
-
It is recommended to use only liquid descaling agent, and read carefully the instructions on its package or user manual before use.
- Operate the appliance for 2 or 3 cycles with the descaling agent as if you prepared coffee, but without paper filter or ground coffee in the filter holder. The descaling agent must be cool before being poured in the water tank.
- After the descaling, make the same thing twice, but only with clean water to rinse the inner side of the coffee maker.
Note:
Never use vinegar as descaling agent.
In case of doubt concerning the water hardness, ask your local tap water company.

4. AFTERMARKET
KUNFT has designed this appliance in order to guarantee the maximum reliability. However, if a problem occurs, by following the procedures suggested in this section you may be able to determine its cause.
Do not attempt to open the appliance - there is a risk of electrical shock.
If you are not able to solve the problem, please contact your seller or manufacturer.
All users must be familiarized with this section. Knowing what could go wrong can help you avoid the occurrence of problems.
WARNING: any attempt of fixing the appliance without contacting the manufacturer will nullify the warranty.
In case the problem persists, take your appliance to an aftermarket section of any Worten, Modelo or Continente store in order to solve the problem.

The warranty supposes a correct use and maintenance of the appliance, namely according to the instructions expressed in this manual. In case otherwise identified, the malfunctions will not be under the warranty.

The repairing of electrical appliances must only be made by qualified technicians, as otherwise there may occur future complications on the appliances.
To avoid unnecessary risks, in case there are any malfunctions on the wires or on another type of components, repairing must be made on the specialized locations of technical assistance, as appropriate tools are needed.
5. ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION

Aiming to protect the environment, we try to reduce to a maximum the volume of the packages which are confined to three easy separation materials: cardboard, paper and plastic.
The appliance is made of recyclable material, once disassembled by a specialized company. Follow the local legislation concerning recycling of all materials.
