How do I set up the AVerMedia Aegis microphone?

Connect the Aegis to your PC via the USB cable, flick the DSP switch ON, and position it conveniently in front of you (up to 60 cm). Then install and run the Voice Engine utility from the provided link to optimize sound.

What is Voice Engine and do I need it?

Voice Engine is a sound calibration utility that activates Speaker Sound Suppression technology inside your Aegis. It is recommended for best performance, especially to reduce echo and background noise.

How do I adjust the volume on the Aegis?

Twist the Volume Control Knob to adjust output volume. The LED Volume Indicator shows the level: green (moderate), orange (loud), red (clipping). If it blinks red, lower the volume or move the microphone further away.

How do I mute the microphone?

Press the Kinetic Mute Button to mute; press it again to unmute. When muted, the Volume Indicator turns off and the Mute Indicator lights up.

How do I factory reset the Aegis?

Press and hold the Mute Button for 5 seconds until both the Mute and Volume Indicators blink red. Then run Voice Engine again to reoptimize your sound.

What should I do if the volume indicator blinks red?

The red blinking indicates clipping or excessively loud volume. Lower the output volume by twisting the knob, or move the microphone further away from your mouth to reduce distortion.

Can I use the Aegis without the DSP switch?

Yes, you can set the DSP switch to OFF. However, the built-in Digital Signal Processing enhances voice clarity and reduces noise, so it is recommended to keep it ON for best results.

Does the Aegis work with gaming consoles?

How do I clean the Aegis microphone?

INSTALLATION

Aegis

Follow the steps below to set up your Aegis:

1. Connect Aegis to your PC
2. Flick the DSP Switch ON
3. Position Aegis conveniently in front, up to 60 cm from you

Voice Engine

Voice Engine is a sound calibration utility that activates the Speaker Sound Suppression technology inside your Aegis.

1. Download the installation file from: http://q.avermedia.com/gm310-download
2. Install and run Voice Engine
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to optimize your sound

Volume Control

Twist the Volume Control Knob to adjust your output volume.

Use the Volume Indicator beneath the knob to keep your output volume in check. If the indicator continues to blink red, try lowering your volume, or moving Aegis further away from you.

Moderate Loud

Deafening Clipping

Mute Button

When you need some privacy, press the Mute Button to mute the microphone, press it again to unmute.

When muted, the Volume Indicator turns off while the Mute Indicator lights up.

Factory Reset

If you experience performance drops after replacing your speaker or computer, try resetting your Aegis.

Press and hold the Mute Button for 5 seconds, until both the Mute and Volume Indicators blink red.

Run Voice Engine again to reoptimize your sound.
