2. INSTALLATION

  1. Before using, please install the unit properly in order to get correct usage.

  2. The unit requires 3 × 1.5 V AA batteries. Open the battery compartment cover and insert the batteries in the right polarity, then close the cover (Proposal using alkali battery).

Or you can use a DC transformer (9V --- 300mA) instead of battery. Verify the polarity.

  1. There should be time display on the liquid crystal screen after the batteries are inserted or DC is connected.

The battery and DC power supply cannot be used together; when the DC supply is connected, the battery will be cut off, so that the life of the battery can be prolonged.

  1. Connect the coil cord to handset and the base.

  2. Insert the two line cords into the line jacks of the base and the other ends to the wall outlet of exchange.

OPERATION FOR TWO LINES

Receiving a call

  1. When line1 rings, "1L" icon flashes on LCD, means line1 has incoming call to receive, press "LINE1", "H.F" or pick up the handset to receive the call.
  2. Follow the same procedure for Line 2.
  3. When receiving two line incoming calls at the same time, press "LINE1" or "LINE2" key to select the call you want to answer, or press "CONF" key to start a three-way conference.
  4. Hang up the phone after finish.

MAKING A CALL

First method

  1. When on-hook state, pick up the handset or press "H.F" key to connect line1. LCD displays "1L" icon.
  2. When hearing the dialing tone, dial the desired number.
  3. After finished, return the handset to the base or press "H.F" key.

Second method

  1. When on-hook state, press "LINE1" ("LINE2") key to connect line 1 (line2), LCD displays "1L(2L)" icon, representing getting line 1 (line2).
  2. When hearing the dialing tone, dial the desired number.
  3. After finished, press "LINE1" ("LINE2") or "H.F" key.

SWITCH BETWEEN HANDSET AND HANDS-FREE

Switch to speakerphone

  1. When talking by handset, press "H.F" key and return the handset to the base;
  2. After finished, press "H.F" key again.

Switch between Line 1 and Line 2

  1. When line 1(line2) is in communication, line 2 (line1) coming in a call, 2L(1L) icon flashes on LCD.
  2. Press "HOLD".
  3. Press "LINE2" ("LINE1") key, line2 (line1) is switch on and line 1(line2) will enter in hold automatically.

Conference function

  1. When line 1(line2) is in communication, line2 (line1) coming in a call, the 2L (1L) icon will flash on the screen. Press "CONF" key to enter conference mode directly or press "HOLD".
  2. Press "LINE2" ("LINE1") key, line 2 (line1) is switch on and line 1(line2) is in holding automatically.
  3. Press "CONF" key to enter Conference conversation (three-way talking).
  4. Return the handset to the base or press "H.F" key, line1 and line2 are hung up together.

Hold two lines while conference conversation (hands-free state).

  1. At hands-free conference mode, press "HOLD" key.
  2. Line1 and line2 enter the hold mode together.
  3. Pick up handset and line1 connected automatically then talk over handset of line1, line2 still in hold state.
  4. After finished of line1, press "LINE2" key to talk over handset of line2.
  5. After finished of line2, return the handset to the base.

Note:

In conference conversation (three-way talking) mode: Press “LINE1” (“LINE2”) key, the line1 (line2) hang up, line2 (line1) is on the line continual.

Hold two lines while conference conversation (handset-state)

  1. At handset conference mode, press "HOLD" key.
  2. Line1 and line2 enter the hold mode together.
  3. Press "LINE1" ("LINE2") key to talk over handset of line1 (line2), line2 (line1) still in hold state.
  4. After finished line1 (line2), press "LINE2" ("LINE1") key to talk over handset of line2 (line1).
  5. After finished talk of line 2 (line1), return the handset to the base.

Hold function

  1. When talking over handset on line1 or line2, press "HOLD" key to enter the hold mode.
  2. Hang up handset, it enters hands free hold mode.
  3. Pick up handset to talk over at handset or press "H.F" key to quit hold mode and talk at hands free mode.
  4. When talking in hands free mode on line1 or line2, press "HOLD" key to enter hold mode.
  5. Pick up handset to talk over handset.
  6. Or press "H.F" key to quit hold mode and talk at hands free mode.

SETTINGS

  1. The menu review: on-hook state, press “SET” or “ENTER” key, press “UP” or “DOWN” key, LCD displays corresponding icon “TIME”, “LOCAL”, “ALARM”, “BACK”, “LCD”, “RING” and flash, when finding the desired setting item, press “SET” or “ENTER” key to enter the correspond setting mode.

Setting date/time

  1. On-hook state, press "SET" or "ENTER" key, LCD displays "TIME" and flash.
  2. Press "SET" or "ENTER" to enter the corresponding setting mode.
  3. Press "UP" or "DOWN" to change the year you want, the week digit next to the year digit is also changed along with year value.
  4. Press "SET" or "ENTER" key to confirm and enter month setting.
  5. Press "UP" or "DOWN" to change the month you want.
  6. Press "SET" or "ENTER" key to confirm, follow the same steps to set day, hour and minute.
  7. After finish setting, press "SET" or "ENTER" key to exit.

Area code filtrate function

  1. When on-hook state, press "SET" or "ENTER" key, press "UP" or "DOWN" key to choose "LOCAL" sign.
  2. Press "SET" or "ENTER" key.
  3. Press number key to input the local number, any mistake by press "DEL" key to edit it.
  4. Press "SET" or "ENTER" key to confirm and exit.

Example: If input the area code is 0123, when an incoming call 0123456789 calls in, the unit will auto filtrate area code and LCD will display only 456789.

Note: the area code can be set 6 digits max.

Restrict calls from extension

This function prevents a extension from making a call.

  1. When on-hook state, press "SET" or "ENTER" key.
  2. Press "UP" or "DOWN" key to choose "ALARM" sign.
  3. Press "SET" or "ENTER" key, LCD displays "ON" or "OFF".
  4. Press "UP" or "DOWN" to set "ON" or "OFF".
  5. Press "SET" or "ENTER" to confirm and exit.

Set long distance code

  1. When on-hook state, press "SET" or "ENTER" key.
  2. Press UP or DOWN to choose BACK and press "SET" or "ENTER" key.
  3. Press number key input 1 digit number between 0 - 9.
  4. Press "SET" or "ENTER" key to confirm and exit.
  5. After set the long distance code, when press "HOLD" key to back dialing incoming call, the unit detect if add the long distance code in front of the back dialing number automatically.

Contrast adjust function

  1. When on-hook state, press "SET" or "ENTER" key.
  2. Press "UP" or "DOWN" key to choose "LCD" sign.
  3. Press "SET" or "ENTER" key, LCD displays "LCD - 03".
  4. Press "UP" or "DOWN" key to choose LCD contrast as you prefer.
  5. Press "SET" or "ENTER" key to confirm and exit.
  6. LCD contrast has 5 levels for adjusting.

Ringer setting music tone function

  1. When on-hook state, press "SET" or "ENTER" key.
  2. Press "UP" or "DOWN" key to choose "RING" sign.
  3. Press "SET" or "ENTER" key, LCD displays I "---2---" and I flashes, (means line1 music ringer tone setting).
  4. Press "UP" or "DOWN" key to choose line 1 music ringer tone (If the selected ringer tone is same as line 2, LCD will illume "RPT" icon to remind).
  5. Press “SET” or “ENTER” key to confirm and enter line 2 music ringer tone set, screen will display II “---3---”.
  6. Press "UP" or "DOWN" key to choose line 2 music ringer tone (If the selected ringer tone is same as line 1, LCD will illume "RPT" icon to remind).
  7. Press "SET" or "ENTER" key to confirm and exit.

Note:

When there is a call coming and the unit is ringing, you can also press "UP" or "DOWN" to choose the music ring tone.

REVIEW / BACK OF INCOMING AND OUTGOING CALL

Display of incoming call

  1. When a call comes, the telephone rings, LCD displays the incoming number and LINE.
  2. If the incoming call was not answered, after finishing ringing LCD will display a NEW icon and it will flash.

Note: Apply for the caller ID from your local telecom office.

Review and dialing back of incoming call

  1. When on-hook state, press "CID" key.
  2. Press "UP" or "DOWN" to review the incoming call number.
  3. If the incoming call was not answered and not reviewed before, LCD will display a "NEW" icon.
  4. If the same number is received for more than once, LCD will display a RPT icon.
  5. When reviewed desired incoming call, press "LINE1" or "LINE2" key to get the desired line and dial out the number.

  6. Or when reviewed desired incoming call, press "HOLD" key, the unit will dial out the number including long distance code (0-9) by line 1, please refer to the operation "SET LONG DISTANCE CODE".

Note:

Reviewing the desired incoming call number, press “DEL” key to delete the number, hold “DEL” for 3s to delete all information of incoming call.

The incoming call can store 16 digits, if the number has more than this it will store the first 16.

If the incoming number has more than 14 digits, press “DOWN” to review the last ones.

Reviewing and dialing back of outgoing call

  1. On-hook state, press "OUT" key, LCD illumes "OUT "sign and display the number of outgoing call.
  2. Press "UP" or "DOWN" to review the desired numbers of outgoing call, if the number is more than 14 digits, press "DOWN" to review other digits.
  3. Press "LINE1" or "LINE2" key to get the relevant line and dial out the number.

OPERATION

RD Function

  1. Pick up handset or press "H.F" key.
  2. Dial a number.
  3. If line is occupied, press "ARD" key. The number is dialed out automatically every 5-9 seconds while line is busy. Unit rings when the call is connected.
  4. If a call comes during auto-redialing, press "LINE1" or "LINE2" key to stop dialing and start talking.

Note: Auto-redial function is only used for Line 1.

Flash

Use this button to activate special services of your service provider.

Pause function

This button is meant to introduce a pause while dialing. Especially useful when calling a PBX.

Pre-dialing function

On on-hook state, input most 32 digits number for dialing out, any mistake by pressing "DEL" key to edit.

Press "LINE1" or "LINE2" key to get the relevant line and dial out the number.

  1. When on-hook state, pre-dialing or reviewing an incoming/outgoing call, LCD displays desired number.
  2. Press "M1" or "M2" key to store the number.

Review one-touch memory

  1. When on-hook state, press "M1" or "M2" to check the stored number.

Dialing

  1. When on-hook state, press "M1" or "M2" key.
  2. Press "LINE1" or "LINE2" key to get the relevant line and dial out the number.

TWO-TOUCH MEMORY FUNCTION

Storing

  1. When on-hook state, pre-dialing or reviewing an incoming/outgoing call, LCD displays desired number.

  2. Press "STORE" key, LCD illumes "STORE" sign.

  3. Press the store address key "1\~9, 0" to store the number.

Review two-touch memory

  1. When on-hook state, press "STORE" key.
  2. Press "UP" or "DOWN" to review the stored two-touch number one by one.

DIALING OUT TWO-TOUCH MEMORY (on hook state)

  1. When on-hook state, press "STORE" key.
  2. Press "UP" or "DOWN" to review the desired two-touch number.
  3. Press "LINE1" or "LINE2" key to get the relevant line and dial out the number.

DIALING OUT TWO-TOUCH MEMORY (off hook state)

  1. When off-hook state, press "STORE" key
  2. Press the store address "1\~9, 0" to dial out the stored number you want.

RINGING VOLUME FUNCTION

  1. Slide the LINE1/LINE2 switch to select ringing volume for line1 and line2. There are HI (high) and LO (low) volumes for selection.

LOCK FUNCTION

  1. Un-lock: turn the key to "RED" point; all number can be dialed out.
  2. Lock "0": turn the key to "GREEN" point, LCD displays "0" icon and all number beginning with "0" cannot be dialed out; the number beginning with other digit will not be limited.
  3. Full-lock: turn the key to "YELLOW" point; LCD displays "ALL" and all number cannot be dialed out.

SELECTING PULSE OR TONE DIALING MODE

  1. Slide the MODE switch to T (TONE) or P (PULSE) to select dialing mode.

Note: When in pulse dialing mode, press “*” key, it can convert pulse dialing mode to the tone dialing mode temporarily.

3. TROUBLESHOOTING

Trouble Solution
• My phone doesn’t work• Make sure the power cord is plugged in. • Make sure the telephone line cord is plugged firmly into the corded / cordless phone base and wall jack. • Place the handset on the base when not in use. • Charge the batteries in the wireless handset (included).
• I cannot get dial tone• Try all the suggestions above. • Move the wireless handset closer to the telephone base, you might have moved out of range. • Contact your local telephone company.
• I cannot dial out• Make sure you have a dial tone before dialing. • If the other phones in your home are having the issue, the problem is in your wiring or local service.
• I get noise, static, or weak signal even when I’m near the telephone base.• Other cordless phones and 802.11 wireless routers that are used for home computer networks both use internal radios to communicate. The radios may interfere with one another.
• My caller ID isn’t working• You must subscribe to this service for this feature to work on your phone.

This Steren product is warranted under normal usage against defects in workmanship and materials to the original purchaser for one year from the date of purchase.

CONDITIONS
