Will the Vello LAE-MFT-FT adapter fit my lens and camera?

This adapter allows mounting Leica M-mount lenses onto Micro Four Thirds (MFT) cameras. It does not support other lens mounts or camera systems.

Does the adapter support autofocus or electronic aperture control?

No, the adapter is purely mechanical. Manual focusing and manual aperture control are required. There are no electronic contacts.

Will I be able to focus to infinity?

Yes, the adapter includes a focus adjustment helicoid that allows fine-tuning to ensure infinity focus is achievable with most Leica M lenses.

Does the adapter introduce vignetting?

Since the Micro Four Thirds sensor is smaller than the Leica M image circle, vignetting is generally not an issue. However, heavy lenses with protruding rear elements may cause slight shading.

What is the build quality of the adapter?

The adapter features a brass mount for durability and a black anodized alloy body. It feels solid and precise, with a smooth bayonet lock.

How do I mount the adapter?

Attach the adapter to the camera body by aligning the mount index and turning it clockwise until it clicks. Then attach the lens to the adapter in the same manner. Ensure the locking pins are engaged.

Is it difficult to remove the adapter from the camera?

No, press the lens release button on the camera and turn the adapter counter-clockwise. It should detach smoothly. If stiff, check for locked pins.

How should I clean and maintain the adapter?

Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to wipe the metal surfaces. Avoid solvents or liquids. Store in a cool, dry place with caps on to prevent dust buildup.

Does the adapter affect focal length or aperture?

Yes, the adapter preserves the lens's focal length but due to the smaller sensor, the field of view is cropped (2x crop factor). Aperture remains unchanged.

What is the warranty coverage?

The Vello Auto Lens Adapter is for attaching Four Thirds lenses to a Micro Four Thirds mount. It features autofocus and autoexposure functionality, and it delivers metadata for your pictures. The inside of the adapter is coated to reduce stray reflections and to maximize picture quality.

MOUNTING THE LENS ADAPTER

Note: Place the lens and camera on a flat, stable surface when mounting or removing the lens adapter.

1. Turn the camera's power off.

2. Remove all caps before mounting.

1. Line up the alignment dots on the lens adapter and the camera.

2. Carefully insert the lens adapter into the camera, and rotate clockwise until it locks into place.

3. Line up the alignment dot on the lens with the alignment dot on the lens adapter.

4. Carefully insert the lens into the lens adapter, and rotate the lens clockwise until it locks into place.

1. Turn your camera on.

REMOVING THE LENS ADAPTER

1. Turn the camera's power off.

2. Press and hold the release pin on the lens adapter.

1. Rotate the lens counterclockwise to release, and carefully detach the lens from the lens adapter.

2. Press and hold the lens release button on the camera.

3. Rotate the lens adapter counterclockwise to release, and carefully detach the lens adapter from the camera.

1. Reattach the front and rear caps to the lens adapter.

One-Year Limited Warranty

This VELLO product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer use for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date or thirty (30) days after replacement, whichever occurs later. The warranty provider's responsibility with respect to this limited warranty shall be limited solely to repair or replacement, at the provider's discretion, of any product that fails during normal use of this product in its intended manner and in its intended environment. Inoperability of the product or part(s) shall be determined by the warranty provider.
