Maxwell MW-3704 garment steamer is intended for quick and careful smoothing of folds on clothes or furniture, the small size of the garment steamer does not require much storage space.

Attention!
For additional protection it is reasonable to install a residual current device (RCD) with nominal operation current not exceeding 30 mA. To install RCD contact a specialist.
SAFETY MEASURES
Before using the unit, read this instruction carefully. Keep these instructions for further reference. Use the unit according to its intended purpose only, as it is stated in this user manual.
Mishandling the unit can lead to its breakage and cause harm to the user or damage to his property.
- Before switching the garment steamer on for the first time, make sure that your home mains voltage corresponds to unit operating voltage.
- The power cord is equipped with a "europlug"; plug it into the socket with reliable grounding contact.
- To avoid fire, do not use adapters for connecting the unit to the mains.
• Do not use the unit outdoors. - Place the garment steamer vertically on a flat moisture-resistant surface, do not place it horizontally and do not turn it over.
- Before using the unit, closely examine the power cord and make sure that it is not damaged. If you find any damages of the power cord, do not use the garment steamer.
- Provide that the power cord does not contact with hot surfaces and sharp furniture edges. Avoid damaging the isolation of the power cord.
• Use only the attachment supplied with the unit. -
Do not switch the unit on if it is empty. Switch the unit off once the water tank is empty.

During operation hold the garment steamer vertically and do not turn it over.
- Fill the tank only with clean water, it is recommended to use water additionally cleaned with a domestic filter. Do not use carbonated water or any perfume additives.
- Always unplug the garment steamer before cleaning, filling it with water or pouring the water out of the tank or if you do not use the unit.
- Do not cover the steam release openings and do not insert foreign objects inside them.
- To avoid burns, hold the garment steamer with your hand in the steam supply button area, because the upper part of the garment steamer body heats up strongly during operation.
- During garment steamer operation avoid getting burnt by hot steam that goes out from the steam release openings.
- Use the unit only for the intended purposes. Never steam clothes on a person as the released steam temperature is very high. Use a hanger.
- Never direct the steamer on people, animals and plants as well as on furniture, electric appliances, books and any other objects which can be damaged by hot steam.
- Do not immerse the unit body, the power plug or the power cord into water or other liquids.
- Do not touch the unit body and the power plug with wet hands.
- Never leave the unit connected to the mains unattended.
• Clean the garment steamer regularly. - Do not allow children to use the unit as a toy and do not allow them to touch the unit body and the power cord during the garment steamer operation.
- This unit is not intended for usage by children under 8 years of age.
- Children aged 8 years and over as well as disabled persons can use this unit only if they are under supervision of a person who is responsible for their safety and if they are given all the necessary and understandable instructions concerning the safe usage of the unit and information about danger that can be caused by improper usage of it.
- For children safety reasons do not leave polyethylene bags, used as a packaging, unattended.
Attention! Do not allow children to play with polyethylene bags or packaging film. Danger of suffocation!
• Install and remove the brush-attachment only after the unit has cooled down completely.
- Never pull the power cord, when disconnecting the unit from the mains; take the power plug and carefully pull it out of the socket.
- Do not disassemble the unit by yourself, if any malfunction is detected or after the unit was dropped, apply to the nearest authorized service center.
- Transport the unit in the original package only.
- Keep the unit out of reach of children and disabled persons.
The garment steamer can be used for any types of fabrics and for smoothing folds on clothes. If you have doubts about steaming any certain kind of fabric or clothes, you should follow the recommendations on the product label. If such information is not available, try to steam the fabric from the backside.
When steaming such fabrics as silk or corduroy, keep the garment steamer some distance away from the material.
Use the brush-attachment (5) to remove lint or threads from the fabric.
Before the first use
After unit transportation or storage at low temperature it is necessary to keep it for at least two hours at room temperature before switching on.
- Unpack the unit, remove any stickers that can prevent unit operation.
- Make sure that the operating voltage of the unit corresponds to the voltage of your mains.
- Wipe the garment steamer body with a slightly damp cloth and then wipe it dry.
- Open the water inlet lid (3), fill the water tank (4) with water (pic. 3), then close the lid (3) tightly. Wipe water drops on the unit body with a dry cloth.
- Insert the power plug into the mains socket, the indicator (6) will light up.
- The unit is ready to operate when the indicator (6) goes out.
- Take the garment steamer with your hand and hold it in the area of the steam supply button
(2). To switch the steam supply on, press and hold the button (2).
- To clean the steam chamber, direct the outgoing steam on a kitchen towel, for instance, and try to smooth it.
- After the unit operation unplug the garment steamer and let it cool down.
Water selection
Use tap water to fill the water tank (4). If tap water is hard, it is recommended to mix tap water with distilled water in proportion 1:1, if tap water is too hard, mix it with distilled water in proportion 1:2 or use distilled water only.
Steamer operation
- Set the brush-attachment (5) on the garment steamer (pic. 1).
Attention!
- Do not plug the garment steamer in if the water tank (4) is empty.
- Unplug the unit and wait till it cools down before installing or removing the brush-attachment (5).
- To remove the brush-attachment (5), pull the lock of the brush-attachment (5) (pic. 2).
- Open the water inlet lid (3), fill the water tank (4) with water (pic. 3), then close the lid (3) tightly.
Attention!
- Before filling the water tank (4) with water, make sure that the unit is unplugged.
- Make sure that water drops do not get onto the garment steamer body, the power cord or the power plug.
- Do not exceed the «max» mark when filling the water tank (4) with water.
- Do not fill the water tank (4) with carbonated water, perfume additives, vinegar, chemical agents etc.
- If you need to refill water during operation, switch the garment steamer off by unplugging it and wait till the unit cools down completely.
- Hang the clothes on a hanger.
Note: - Never steam clothes on a person as the outgoing steam temperature is very high, use a hanger only.
- Insert the power plug into the mains socket, the indicator (6) will light up.
- When the unit is ready for operation, the indicator (6) will go out.
ENGLISH
- Take the garment steamer with your hand and hold it in the area of the steam supply button (2).
- To switch the steam supply on, press and hold the button (2).
- To switch the steam supply off, release the button (2).
- Slowly move the garment steamer up the fabric. Smooth the fabric with the free hand.
Notes:
- Hold the garment steamer vertically and do not turn it over (pic. 4).
- During operation the upper part of the unit body heats up strongly, be careful and do not touch the hot parts of the unit body!
- Clothes should cool down and dry after steaming, it may take some time.
- After the unit operation unplug the garment steamer and let it cool down.
- Open the water inlet lid (3) and drain any remaining water from the water tank (4) (pic. 5).
Note: - Continuous operation time of the garment steamer is no longer than 15-20 minutes.
Cleaning and care
- Unplug the garment steamer and wait till it cools down, then drain the remaining water out of the water tank (pic. 5).
- Clean the garment steamer body and the surface with the steam release openings (1) with a slightly damp cloth, and then wipe dry.
- You can remove scale from the surface with the steam release openings (1) with a cloth soaked in vinegar-water solution.
- Wash the brush-attachment (5) under water jet having preliminary removed it from the garment steamer.
- Do not use solvents or abrasives for cleaning the garment steamer.
Attention! Do not immerse the garment steamer body, the power cord and the power plug of the unit into water or other liquids.
Storage
- Unplug the unit and wait till it cools down completely.
- Drain the water from the water tank (4) (pic. 5) and clean the garment steamer.
- Keep the unit away from children in a dry cool place.
Transportation of the garment steamer at low temperatures
- Before transportation the unit at low temperatures, pour out water from the water tank (4).
- Insert the power plug into the mains socket, the indicator (6) will light up.
- When the unit is ready for operation, the indicator (6) will go out.
- Press and hold the button (2), wait until steam release stops.
- Unplug the unit.
- Wait till the garment steamer cools down completely and pack it for transportation.
