Unplug the iron, open the water inlet cover, and fill with clean tap water using the included measuring cup. Do not exceed the maximum level indicated.
What type of water should I use?
It is recommended to use distilled or demineralized water to prevent limescale buildup. Avoid using chemically softened water or water with additives.
How does the auto shut-off function work?
The iron automatically turns off if left unattended: after 30 seconds if placed horizontally, or after 8 minutes if standing vertically on its heel. This is a safety feature.
Can I use the iron for vertical steaming?
Yes, the VT-1247 VT supports vertical steaming. Hold the iron upright and press the steam burst button to remove wrinkles from hanging garments.
How do I clean the soleplate?
Allow the iron to cool completely. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
What is the self-cleaning function and how to use it?
The self-cleaning function helps remove mineral deposits. Fill the tank to max, heat the iron to maximum temperature, unplug, hold over a sink, and press the self-clean button. Steam and water will flush out impurities.
Why is my iron not producing steam?
Check that the water tank is filled and the steam control is set correctly. Ensure the temperature dial is set to a steam-ready zone (typically above 2 dots). If the problem persists, perform a self-clean cycle.
Is the iron suitable for all fabric types?
Yes, the iron has adjustable temperature settings suitable for various fabrics. Always check the garment's care label and start with a lower temperature for delicate fabrics.
What should I do if water leaks from the iron?
Leakage may occur if the iron is not hot enough or if the anti-drip system is impaired. Ensure the iron has reached the desired temperature and that the water cap is sealed properly. Empty the tank if storing.
How do I store the iron after use?
Unplug and let it cool completely. Empty the water tank, wrap the cord loosely around the cord storage, and store upright in a dry place.

WATER SELECTION

Use tap water to fill the tank. If tap water is hard, it is recommended to mix it with distilled water in proportion 1:1; if tap water is too hard, mix it with distilled water in proportion 1:2 or use distilled water only.

FILLING THE WATER TANK

Before filling the tank with water make sure that the unit is unplugged.

- Set the temperature control knob (11) to the «min» position and the continuous steam supply knob (3) to the position «∅» (continuous steam supply is off).

- Open the water inlet lid (2).

  • Do not exceed the "MAX" mark (13).
  • If you need to refill water during ironing, then, firstly, switch off and unplug the iron.

IRONING TEMPERATURE

  • Always check the recommended ironing temperature indicated on the tag before ironing.
  • If the tag does not list the recommended ironing temperature, but you know the type of fabric, refer to the following table to determine the proper temperature.
SymbolFabric type (temperature)
Synthetics, nylon, acrylic, polyester (low temperature)
••Silk/wool (medium temperature)
•••Cotton, linen (high temperature)
MAXMaximum temperature
  • This table is only valid for smooth materials. Fabrics of other types (crimped, raised etc.) are best ironed at low temperature.
  • Sort items by ironing temperature first: synthetics to synthetics, wool to wool, cotton to cotton etc.
  • The iron heats up faster than it cools down. For this reason it is recommended to begin ironing at low temperature (for instance, synthetic fabrics).
  • After that, start ironing at higher temperature (silk, wool). Cotton and linen items should be ironed last.
  • If an item is made of mixed fabrics, the iron should be set to the lowest ironing temperature (for instance, if an item is made of acrylic and cotton, it should be ironed at temperature used for acrylic ironing «•»).
  • If you cannot define the fabric structure, find a place that is inconspicuous while wearing and select the ironing temperature experimentally (always start with the lowest temperature and raise it gradually until you get the desired result).
  • Corduroy and other fabrics that become glossy quickly should be ironed strictly in one direction (in the direction of the pile) with little pressure.
  • To avoid appearance of glossy spots on synthetic and silk fabrics, it is recommended to iron them from backside.

DRY IRONING

  • Place the iron on its base (8).
  • Insert the power plug into the mains socket.
  • Set the continuous steam supply knob (3) to the position « 🚗 » (continuous steam supply is off).
  • Set the desired ironing temperature depending on the type of fabric by turning the knob (11): «•», «••», «••••» or «MAX», the indicator (9) will light up.
  • Once the soleplate temperature (14) reaches the set one, the indicator (9) will go out, you can start ironing.
  • After using the iron switch the temperature control (11) to the «min» position, unplug the unit and let the iron cool down completely.

STEAM IRONING

Steam ironing is possible only if the temperature control knob (11) is set to the position «••», «•••» or «MAX».

- Place the iron on its base (8).

ENGLISH

  • Insert the power plug into the mains socket.
  • Make sure that there is enough water in the water tank (10).
  • Set the control knob (11) to the required ironing temperature, the indicator (9) will light up.
  • When the soleplate temperature (14) reaches the set one, the indicator (9) will go out, you can start ironing.
  • Set the necessary steam intensity with the continuous steam supply knob (3).

WATER SPRAY

  • Make sure that there is enough water in the tank (10) (it is filled to one quarter minimum)

BURST OF STEAM

Use burst of steam to iron folds, it may only be used at high ironing temperatures (the temperature control knob (11) is set to the «•••» or «MAX» position).

When the burst of steam button (4) is pressed, steam will go out of the soleplate (14) openings intensively.

Note: To avoid water leakage from the steam openings, press the burst of steam button (4) with 4-5 sec. intervals.

To avoid dripping, do not hold the button (4) for more than 5 seconds.

The steam is supplied if the tank (10) is filled to one quarter minimum.

The vertical steam function can be used only at high ironing temperatures (when the temperature control knob (11) is set to «MAX»). Hold the iron vertically at the distance of 10-30 cm from the clothes, press the burst of steam button (4) with a 4-5 seconds interval, steam will be supplied from the soleplate (14) intensively.

Important information
