Play mode
Play mode is the mode in which you will normally use the PANDORA PX3B.
1. Selecting a program
You can select from a total of 100 programs : 50 user programs and 50 preset programs. Use the +/ - buttons to select a program.
Depending on the program, either USER or PRESET will light above the program number.

for User programs
Programs can also be selected in Rhythm Trainer mode, AUX Effect mode, or Phrase Trainer mode.
2. Master level
When _LEVEL^MASTER is lit, the master level is shown in the value display.

Immediately after the power is turned on, you will be able to adjust the master level using the Value dial. You can also use the +/- buttons to adjust the master level. (p.22)
The master level is remembered even when the power is turned off.
3. Bypass/Mute
When you press the BYPASS-TUNE button, the PANDORA PX3B will be bypassed, and the original sound will not be processed by any effect.
The effect chain will blink, and the display will indicate "PASS" for approximately one second.

If you press and hold the BYPASS-TUNE button for longer than one second, the output signal will be muted.
The effect chain will blink rapidly, and the display will indicate "MUTE" for approximately one second.

Bypass/mute will be turned off when you either press the BYPASS-TUNE button once again, or change the program.
4. Tuner
The tuner will operate when you bypass or mute in Play mode.

Play a 12th fret harmonic on your bass. The LCD will show the note name and the calibration. If the pitch is more than a semitone higher than the note name, a sharp symbol will appear at the upper left of the note name.
The display area will act as a meter to show the pitch.
Tune the string of your bass so that the indicator above the center mark is lit.
The tuner (bypass/mute) will be turned off when you press either the BYPASS-TUNE button or change the program.
Calibration (frequency of the standard A=440 pitch) You can use the Value dial to adjust calibration in the range of A = 438Hz - 445Hz .
The calibration setting you make will be valid until the power is turned off. Once the power is turned off, calibration will be reset to A = 440 Hz.
5. HBB (Hyper Bass Boost)
This function boosts the low-frequency range that is often insufficient when using small headphones. This function is also effective when the PANDRA PX3B is connected to a bass amp or mixer.
Use the HBB button to switch HBB on/off. When HBB is on, the HBB icon will light.
The HBB on/off setting is remembered even when the power is turned off.

This cannot be switched on/off when the PX3B is bypassed or muted.

Each time you press an EDIT / buttons, you will cycle through the effects in the order shown below. When an effect is selected, its icon will blink.

2. Editing each effect
For each effect, you can select the effect type and set its parameter values. Effects that are turned off cannot be edited.

Effect OFF
To turn an effect on, use the EDIT 1 buttons to select the effect, and press the BYPASS-TUNE button. For details on effect types and their parameters, refer to the Effect Parameter List (p.36).
1) DYNA (dynamics)
These are dynamics-type effects such as compressor, overdrive, and distortion, that are used mainly to create the tone of the bass.

- BYPASS/TUNE button: Turn the effect on/off
- +/- buttons: Select the effect type
- Value dial: Set the value of the parameter
2) AMP (amplifier)
This produces sounds that models a bass amp. For SLD and TUBE types, the value dial adjusts the mix balance between the line (direct) sound and the modeling sound. For the HI-G type, the value dial adjusts the boost amount of the amp.

BYPASS·TUNE

- BYPASS/TUNE button: Turn the effect on/off
- +/- buttons: Select the amp type
- Value dial: Set the mix balance or boost setting
3) EQ (equalizer)
This is a four-band graphic equalizer that lets you adjust the tonality for each program.

BYPASS·TUNE

- BYPASS/TUNE button: Turn the effect on/off
- +/- buttons: Select bands or trim values
- Value dial: Set the gain or trim values
Depending on the EQ settings, the output may be distorted (clipped), or conversely reduced in volume, so adjust the Trim to produce an appropriate output level.
4) MOD (modulation)
This provides modulation-type effects such as chorus, flanger, pitch-shifter, etc.

BYPASS·TUNE

- BYPASS-TUNE button: Turn the effect on/off
- +/- buttons: Select the effect type
- Value dial: Specify the parameter value.
5) D/R (delay/reverb)
This provides spatial effects such as reverb and delay.

- BYPASS-TUNE button: Turn the effect on/off
- +/- buttons: Select the effect type
- Value dial: Specify the effect level
6) NR (noise reduction)
Adjust the depth of noise reduction. Raising this value will produce more noise reduction. Normally you will adjust this so that you do not hear obtrusive noise when the strings are lightly muted.

- Value dial: Adjust the depth of noise reduction
It is not possible to turn noise reduction off.
If this value is raised excessively, the sound may be cut off prematurely, depending on the device that is connected. If this occurs, reduce the value.
7) LEVEL
Adjust the level for each program using the Value dial. Depending on the effect settings, the output may be distorted (clipped), so you should adjust this so that distortion does not occur.

- Value dial: Select the level for each program
The volume of each program will change depending on the bass you use. Adjust the level appropriately for your bass.
8) RENAME
Here you can specify a name for each program.

- +/- buttons: Select the character location (the selected character will blink)
- Value dial: Select the character
The following characters can be used: space, 0-9, A-Z, ", *, +, -, /
9)WRITE
Here you can write (store) an edited program or a program that you created.

BYPASS·TUNE H

Use the Value dial to select the writing destination (User programs only). When you do so, the name of the program that currently occupies the writing destination will be displayed briefly.
If you decide not to write, press the EDIT button to select a different screen.
When you press the BYPASS-TUNE button, the edited program will be written into memory.
When the program has been written, the LCD will indicate "COMPL" for approximately one second.
- BYPASS-TUNE button: Write
- Value dial: Select a user program number as the writing destination

Before writing an edited program into a different program number, be sure that you do not mind overwriting the data that is currently in that program number. The program data that is overwritten will be lost.
It is not possible to write to a preset program.
3. Reloading the factory programs
While holding down the HBB button and the + button, turn on the power. The LCD will ask "PLOAD?"

If you decide not to reload the factory programs, press the EXIT button. The factory programs will not be reloaded; the normal power-on screen will appear, and the PANDORA PX3B will be in Program mode.
If you press the BYPASS-TUNE button, the factory-set programs will be re-loaded into the user program area. The display will indicate "LOAD", "VERI", "COMPL" for a short time, and then the power-on screen will appear.
