Frequently Asked Questions - Elf 3 ZVC165EF Zelmer

How often should I clean the HEPA filter?
For optimal performance, clean the HEPA filter every 3 months. Tap it gently to remove dust or wash it under lukewarm water. Let it dry completely before reinstalling.
What should I do if suction power decreases?
First, check if the dust container is full and empty it. Next, inspect the filters for clogs and clean them. Also check the hose and nozzles for blockages. If the problem persists, the motor may need service.
Can I use this vacuum to pick up liquids?
No, this vacuum is designed for dry pickup only. Using it on liquids can damage the motor and pose an electric shock hazard.
How do I empty the dust container?
Press the release button on the dust container to detach it from the main body. Hold it over a trash bin and press the bottom flap to empty. Close the flap and reattach.
Why does the vacuum automatically turn off during use?
This indicates thermal overload protection. The vacuum overheated due to a clogged filter or full container. Turn it off, unplug, and let it cool for 30 minutes. Clean filters and container before restarting.
How should I store the vacuum?
Store in a dry, cool place. Wrap the cord around the cord hooks or use the automatic rewind. Keep the vacuum upright and ensure the tube is secured.
What accessories come with the vacuum?
The package includes a crevice tool, upholstery brush, telescopic tube, and a combined floor nozzle for carpets and hard floors.
Is the vacuum bagless? How do I dispose of dust?
Yes, it is bagless. Dust collects in a transparent container. Empty it into a trash bin and rinse the container occasionally. No bags to replace.
Can I use the vacuum on pet hair?
Yes, the cyclonic suction and combination nozzle are effective on pet hair. For best results, use the upholstery brush on furniture and the floor nozzle on carpets.
How does the cord rewind work?
Press the rewind pedal with your foot while holding the plug. The cord will automatically retract into the housing. Guide it gently to avoid tangles.
