1. INTRODUCTION

Please read this instruction manual carefully before using it and keep it for later information.

This manual is conceived for offering you all of the necessary info regarding installation, using and maintenance of the machine. For a correctly and safely use of the machine, please, read this manual before installation and using.

3. SAFETY WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS

The following basic precautions should always be followed when using the electrical appliance:

  1. This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of this appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older than 8 years. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years old.
  2. This food dehydrator is designed for domestic use only and is not suitable for commercial use. Do not use it for outdoors activities.
  3. When using the food dehydrator, make sure that it is on a flat, level and sturdy surface, make sure that there is no risk of it to fall over and that it can support the weight of the unit during use.
  4. Failure to follow all the instructions listed may result in electric shock, fire or serious personal injury. The warnings, cautions and instructions listed in this manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur while the product is in use.
  5. Do not leave this product unattended during use.
  6. Before plugging the food dehydrator into the main electrical supply, check that the voltage and the power supply comply with the specifications on the food dehydrator's rating label.
  7. Make sure that the food dehydrator is switched off and remove the plug from the main electrical supply when it is not in use, before it is cleaned and whilst it is being repaired.
  8. Ensure that the food dehydrator and the power cord are not hung-over sharp edges and keep them away from hot objects and open flames; otherwise, the plastic will melt and may cause a fire.
  9. Under no circumstances should the food dehydrator or plug be immersed in water or any other liquid. Do not use the appliance with wet hands.
  10. Check the food dehydrator and power cord regularly for damage.
  11. Do not use the food dehydrator if the plug or cord are damaged or after it has been dropped or damaged in any way.
  12. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorised service or similarly qualified persons.
  13. Repairs to the food dehydrator should only be performed by a qualified electrician. Improper repairs may place the user at risk.
  14. None of the product's parts are dishwasher safe, unless explicitly specified otherwise.
  15. Never use an unauthorized attachment.

  16. Avoid contact with moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing, spatulas and other utensils away during operation to reduce the risk of injury to persons and/or damage to the machine.

  17. Please don't turn the air stream of the engine towards others.
  18. Please don't keep it beside anything heating.
  19. If you pass this appliance on to a third party, these operating instructions must also be handed over.
  20. The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

Caution:

  • Keep the device away from the places with high temperature.
  • In the event where the appliance is dropped into the water, turn off the power at the power outlet and remove the plug immediately. DO NOT REACH INTO THE WATER TO RETRIEVE IT.
  • ATTENTION! Do not run the appliance for more than 48 hours in one single use. After 48 hours, unplug it and let it cool down for at least 2 hours before operating again.
  • Do not operate this appliance near gas spray cans.
    • The temperature of accessible surface may be high when the appliance is operating.

5. PRODUCT INSTALLATION AND OPERATION METHOD

Before first use

  1. Remove all packaging from your dehydrator and its accessories.
  2. Clean the trays with a moistened cloth.
  3. Place the dehydrator base on a solid, level surface. Plug it in. Stack the drying trays in the dehydrator.
  4. Run the dehydrator for 30 minutes at any temperature, without adding any food. Make sure that the room has sufficient ventilation in case the dehydrator produces any smoke or smells. This is normal during the first usage of the product.
  5. Rinse the trays in water. Dry all parts.

NOTE: You will only need to do this the first time you use the dehydrator.

How to use the appliance

Assembling the appliance

  1. Make sure that the dehydrator sits steadily on a solid, level surface. Stock the drying trays and connect the plug with a wall socket.
  2. The trays can be stacked with a clearance of 1.5 cm-2.8 cm and are therefore adjustable to the thickness of the food to be dehydrated.

TIPS: If you stack 2 trays inside each other and you notice that the top tray is touching the food below, move the upper tray to a higher position (see diagram below).

Align the plastic tabs on the inside of the bottom edge of the trays with the 4 vertical plastic catches.

Rotate the trays so that the plastic tabs on the lower edge of the trays are positioned next to the 4 vertical plastic catches.

  1. The dehydrator is now ready for use.

Control functions

The digital control allows easy adjustment of dehydration temperature and time.

  1. Place the dehydrator on a dry smooth surface
  2. Place the food on the trays and load it into the machine.

  3. Plug the dehydrator into a wall outlet with the requirements on the nameplate. There is a sound at the beginning. And the dehydrator goes into standby mode after 3 seconds.

Note:

a) It is recommended to stack at least 3 working trays, whether you have food on them or not.
b) Standby mode: the screen shows "00 00".
c) Press the "TIME/TEMP" Button, the screen displays the default time and temperature

Temperature function

Press the "TIME/TEMP" button and the temperature in the display window will begin to flash. If the time indicator flashes, press the "TIME/TEMP" button again. Then Press "+" and "-" to select the desired temperature every time you want, to increase or decrease by 5°C for each press.

Timer function

Press the "TIME/TEMP" button and the time in the display window will begin to flash. If the temperature flashes, press the "TIME/TEMP" button again. Then Press "+" and "-" to select the desired time. Every time it increases or decreases by 30 minutes.

Note:

(1) Default mode: Default time "10:00 h" and default temperature "70°C".
(2) To change the Temperature/Time rapidly, you can hold down the "+" and "-" buttons for 2 seconds.
(3) When "FAN" is selected, the fan operates without heating.

START/STOP functions

a) After setting it up, press "START/STOP" for the appliance to start working within 5 seconds. The built-in screen alternately displays time and temperature at a frequency of 10 seconds.

Note:

If don't press "START/STOP" to start dehydrating within 5 seconds, the dehydrator will go into standby mode.

If you press "START/STOP" again to stop dehydration, the timer count down will reset, and the dehydrator will go into standby mode.

If Press "START/STOP"" button without setting. The dehydrator will start according to the default mode.

b) Optionally, you can change the time and temperature at any time by pressing "TIME/TEMP".

c) When the working time expires, there are 5 sounds and displays END. Then the heating is over, and the fan continues to run for 10 seconds. Press the "START/STOP" button to return to the standby mode. d) Pull the plug off the power supply and remove the food after proper cooling.

Tips & recommendations

  • After the work is finished, unplug the power plug, take out the food in time, do not keep the food in the machine for a long time.
    • If additional drying time is needed, follow the preceding steps to continue dehydrating.
  • If you do not have time to dry all the food in one day, you can dry them the next day. In this case, you should store the food in a container/polyethylene bag and put it in the freezer.
  • Fruit and vegetables dried in your food dehydrator will be different in appearance from those sold in health food stores and supermarkets. This is due to your food dehydrator uses no preservatives, no artificial coloring and only natural additives.

- Records of humidity, weight of produce before and after drying times, will be helpful to improving your drying techniques for the future.

For drying function:

Drying time for pre-treatment fruit will vary according to the following factors:

  1. Thickness of pieces or slices
  2. Number of trays with food being dried
  3. Volume of food being dried
  4. Moisture or humidity in your environment
  5. Your preferences of drying for each type of dried food

It is recommended to:

  1. Check your food every hour.
  2. Rotate and/or re-stack your trays if you notice uneven drying.
  3. Label food with contents dried date and weight before drying. It will also be helpful to note the drying time for future reference.
  4. Pretreated food will give the best effect in drying.
  5. Correct food storage after drying also will help to keep food in good quality and save the nutrients.

6. CARE AND MAINTENANCE

  • After using, unplug the dehydrator from the power supply and let it cool down before cleaning. Use a soft brush to remove food sticking on the trays.
  • Dry all parts with a dry cloth before storing the dehydrator.
  • Clean the surface of body with wet cloth.
  • Use paper towels to remove any stains remaining.
  • Do not clean the appliance with aggressive chemicals or abrasives in order not to damage the surface.

Storage:

  • Store food only after they have cooled down.
  • Food can be kept longer if stored in a cool, dry and dark place.
  • Remove all the air you possibly can from the storage container and close tightly.
    • Optimal storage temperature is 15^ C or lower.
  • Never store food directly in a metal container.
  • Avoid poor insulated containers.
  • Check the contents of your dried food for moisture during the weeks following dehydration. If there is moisture inside, you should dehydrate the contents for a longer time to avoid spoiling.
  • For best quality, dried fruit, vegetables, herbs, nuts, bread should not be kept for more than 1 year, if kept in the refrigerator or freezer.
  • Dried meats, poultry and fish should be stored for no more than 3 months if kept in the refrigerator, or 1 year if kept in the freezer.
