What type of gas should I use for MIG welding?

For the Ozito AWG-964U, use CO2 or a mixed gas like Ar/CO2 (75% Argon, 25% CO2) for better weld quality.

How do I adjust the wire feed speed?

Turn the wire feed speed knob on the front panel. Refer to the welding current chart provided in the manual to match wire speed with thickness.

What is the maximum welding thickness?

With 140 A maximum, you can weld steel up to approx. 4 mm in a single pass. For thicker material, multiple passes may be needed.

Why does the wire feed stop or jam?

Check the wire spool for tangles, ensure the drive rollers are not worn, and adjust the pressure. Also clean the liner and contact tip.

Can I use this machine for aluminum welding?

The AWG-964U is primarily for steel and stainless steel. Aluminum requires higher current and specialized wire; it is not recommended.

How do I change the welding wire spool?

Open the side panel, remove the empty spool, place the new spool (0.6-1.0 mm), feed the wire through the guide, adjust tension, and close the panel.

What safety precautions should I take?

Why is the arc unstable?

This equipment falls under Class A of the standard EN 609V4-10, i.e., it is not designed for use in residential areas in which the power supply is based on a public low-voltage supply system because given unfavorable conditions in the power supply the equipment may cause interference. Safety clothing

1. While working, the welder must protect his entire body from radiation and burns by wearing suitable clothing and a face guard.

2. Slip-on gloves made of a suitable material (eather) must be worn on both hands. They must be in perfect condition.

3. Suitable sprons must be worn to protect clothing from sparks and burns. A safety suit and if necessary, head protection must be worn if required by the type of work in question, e.g. overhead welding.

4. The protective clothing used as well as all accessories must be in compliance with the "Personal safety equipment" EU Directive.

Protection from radiation and burns

1. Provide information about the risk to eyes at the working site in the form of a poster with the wording "Caution - do not look at the flames". Workplaces are to be screened off wherever possible so that personnel in the vicinity are protected. Unauthorized persons are to be kept away from the welding work.

2. The walls in the immediate vicinity of stationary workplaces should not have a light color or a shoon. Windows up to head height are to be protected against radiation passing through them or reflecting off them, for example by coating them with a suitable paint.

To comply with European Directive 2012/1950 concerning old electric and electronic equipment and its implementation in national laws, old electric power tools have to be separated from other waste and disposed of in an environmental-friendly fashion, e.g. by taking to a recycling depot.
