Read this manual carefully before running this appliance and save it for reference in order to obtain the best results and ensure safe use.

G. Interruptor ON/OFF.

1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must never play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be carried out by children without supervision.

17. Electric sharpener is designed to sharpen kitchen knives household type, knives and most non-serrated knives. Not attempt to sharpen ax blades or any other blade that does not fit well into the slots or have special sierra.
18. Sharpener should be kept away from heat sources such as hot air outlets, ovens, pans, irons, toasters, etc. The cable should never be left hanging by the work surface or touch hot surfaces.
19. WARNING: newly sharpened knives in electric sharpening are sharper than expected so to avoid any damage, use and handle them with care. When cutting careful not to close your finger to the knife edge and avoid placing fingers near sharpening slots during the sharpening process.
20. After sharpening knives and to prevent damage, store knives in a safe place out of reach of children, even it is recommended to covers or protections on knife blades.
21. Always connect the machine before inserting the blade in sharpening slot. Never attempt to sharpen more than one blade at the same time.
22. In the sharpening process maintains a slight downward pressure, because with too much pressure can overheat

the engine or even block the rotation of the engine and cause serious damage.

- Do not use any lubricant such as oil, water or abrasive products in the sharpened or rectified process.

- Do not use the appliance more than 3 minutes. After that 3 minutes, let it rest for 20 minutes.

TIPS FOR BETTER RESULTS

• Always should clean and dry knives before of grinding or sharpening.
• Press the blade down steadily avoiding blocking rotation of the motor.
• When you are grinding or sharpening, keep steady pace and adequate speed, and never stop rotation of the motor occasioned by excessive pressure in the wheel.
• Alternate sharpening between left slot and right slot (except that only special sheets need to be sharpened on one side).
• For a good sharpening the knife point should lift the handle up slightly as it approaches the end of the blade.
• Hold the appliance by hand while using, it will be more stable. Do it carefully not to cut with knife.
• Motor will heat after several uses, let cool before using it again.

USE

BEFORE FIRST USE

When you unwrap the appliance, ensure to remove all the packaging. Clean the appliance with a damp cloth.

VERY IMPORTANT: it is not recommended to use the sharpener for more than 3 minutes continuously. After this operation, switch it off and let it rest for 20 minutes, so it will cool.

HOW TO SHARPEN A KNIFE

STEP 1. Grinding: the first step is making a grinding blade.

Plug into the mains supply and press the switch. Should place the knife in the grinding zone, in the slot A of picture, the handle of the knife should be as close to the slot. Lower the knife slowly to avoid blocking the rotation of the wheel and pull the knife down to the tip, do it the same placing the knife in the slot B of the picture. Repeat these operations 3 or 4 times, or until you see that the edge angle and the grinding is entirely uniform along the entire blade.

IMPORTANT: Should start pulling of the handle to you as soon as insert the blade into the slot. Make sure the pressure applied on the handle is enough to keep the blade in contact with the grinding wheel without actually stopping the rotation of the motor.

STEP 2. Sharpening: the second step is making sharpening blade.

Should place the knife in the sharpening zone, in the slot C of the picture, the handle of the knife should be as close to the slot. Lower the knife slowly to avoid blocking the rotation of the wheel far as the plastic stop, then pull the knife slowly watching the grinding wheel is not locked so go sharpening evenly around the edge to reach the tip. Do the same in slot D shown in picture. Repeat these operations 3 or 4 times, or until you verify that the edge is completely uniform throughout the blade and on both sides.

HOW TO SHARPEN SCISSORS

• Plug to the mains supply and pulse the switch.
• Open the scissors and hold it by the edge.
• Put the finer side up, insert the scissors into the slot that puts "scissors" (F in picture) and when you feel it touch the wheel pull them toward you keeping pressure on the wheel (without blocking).
• Can adjust the angle between the scissors and the wheel according the thickness and size of scissors slightly.
• Sharpening the other blade in the same way.
• When you finish, switch off and unplug the sharpener.

HOW TO SHARPEN A SCREWDRIVER

• Plug the sharpener and switch on.
• Hold the screwdriver by the handle and the tip in the grinding slot (A or B in picture) to repair the deformed tip on each side (one to one).
• Then insert the tip in the square hole of the right, where you read "screwdriver", so you can grind the peak of screwdriver.
• After this process switch off and unplug the sharpener.

HOW TO USE THE AUTO REWIND FUNCTION

- Pull the cord to the length needed to connect the sharpener to the mains supply when using it.

- When you finish its use, unplug and press the button on the back of the sharpener (J in the picture), the cord is automatically rewinded. If the cord don't rewind, hold it with the hand and pulse the button, the cord rewind slowly.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

This appliance works with an electric engine, therefore it is not necessary to use any lubricating on moving parts, engine, bearings or surfaces for grinding. Do not use detergents or abrasives products to clean. Just clean with a damp cloth or a towel. Do not clean the base in water or in dishwasher. Do not knock the wheel, it could easily damage.

Disposal of old electrical appliances.

The European directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of in the normal unsorted municipal waste stream.
