How do I turn on the Steren RAD-530 radio?

Press the Power button located on the top panel. The LCD display will light up.

How do I set the time on the radio?

Press and hold the Clock button until the hour digits flash, then use the Tuning knob to adjust. Press Clock again to set minutes, then press again to confirm.

How do I switch between AM and FM?

Press the Band button repeatedly to toggle between AM and FM. The current band is shown on the display.

How can I manually tune to a station?

Rotate the Tuning knob to manually scan frequencies. For FM, extend the telescopic antenna for better reception.

Does the RAD-530 have an alarm clock?

Yes, it has an alarm function. Press the Alarm button to set the alarm time using the Tuning knob. The alarm can wake you to radio or a buzzer.

Can I use headphones with this radio?

Yes, plug 3.5mm headphones into the Headphone jack on the side. This will mute the internal speaker.

What kind of batteries does the radio use?

It uses 2 x AA batteries (not included). Alternatively, you can power it with a 5V DC adapter (center positive, 500mA).

How do I clean the radio?

Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water or chemical cleaners. Avoid getting moisture into the device.

Why is the FM reception poor?

Extend the telescopic antenna fully and rotate it for best reception. Avoid placing the radio near metal objects or electronic interference.

How do I reset the radio to factory settings?

Remove the batteries and disconnect any power adapter. Wait 10 seconds, then reinsert batteries or reconnect power. The radio will reset to default settings.

When transmitting lights red.

1. SPKR/MIC INPUT:

You can connect an external microphone and speaker (not included).

1. MONITOR Button:

This button is used to verify activity on the selected channel before transmission.

You can also detect weak signals.

1. SCAN button:

Scans channels signal.

Turns on the lantern.

1. PTT button:

Press the PTT button to transmit.

3. LED indicator for the battery charger:

The LED indicator lights red when the battery is in the process of loading.

Turns green when the battery is fully charged.

INSTALLATION

1. To install the antenna, simply insert and turn it making sure it is firmly attached.

1. To place the battery, insert and slide it in the battery compartment.

To withdraw press the release button and pull the battery.

1. Place the belt clip and secure it with the screws.

1. Once you've installed the battery charger, connect the AC charger adaptor into an AC household outlet. Insert the terminal on the charger and perform the initial charge for 12 hours or so.

The LED indicator lights red when the battery is in the process of loading.

Turns green when the battery is fully charged.

The LED in the 2-way radio flashes in red when battery is discharged.

Insert terminal on the charger and charge it.

HOW TO USE

1. Turn the microphone on.

1. Select a channel with the channel selector or press and hold the exploration button (SCAN) until the LED indicator flashes green, the radio start the search for signal and will stop when the device found an active signal.

Press the button PTT channel to communicate to an activate signal channel and search will be deactivated.

If you want to continue exploring press and hold the SCAN button, the indicator LED will turn off.

1. To start communicating, just press and hold the PTT button, the LED indicator lights up red. While speaking, keep the unit in an upright position and at a distance of 2.5 cm from the mouth. When you want to finish the conversation, release the PTT button.

When receiving, the LED indicator lights up green.

1. To turn on/off the light, press briefly the SCAN button.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Cannot power on the device	Check the battery. Make sure that the battery is properly installed.
	Recharge the battery.
The reception is weak	Increase the volume level.
	The signal can be out of range or the equipment is too far from signal.

This Steren product is warranted under normal usage against defects in workmanship and materials to the original purchaser for one year from the date of purchase and three months on its battery.

CONDITIONS

1. This warranty card with all therequired information, invoice, productboxor package, and product, must be presented when warranty service is required.
2. If the product is in the warranty time, the company will repair it free of charge.
3. The repairing time will not exceed 30 natural days, from the day the claim was received.
4. Steren sell parts, components, consumables and accessories to customer, as well as warranty service, at any of the addresses mentioned later.

THIS WARRANTY IS VOID IN THE NEXT CASES:

If the product has been damaged by an accident, act so of God, mishandling, leaky batteries, failure to follow enclosed instructions, improper repair by unauthorized personnel, improper safe keeping, among others.
