Does the dock include a power adapter?

No, the dock requires a user-supplied USB wall charger or cigarette lighter adapter. The dock has a Micro USB 2.0 input and the device will detect power within two seconds once connected.

How do I install the dock in my vehicle?

First, attach the top cup and docking cup to the backing plate using the #4 screws. Then mount the assembly to a RAM® mounting system using the #8 machine screws and nylock nuts. Finally, connect the USB cable and secure it with the cable retention clip.

Can the dock be used outdoors?

Yes, but for open cockpit or outdoor use, RAM Mount recommends applying electrical tape to the USB connection to protect against moisture and debris.

How do I properly insert my tablet into the dock?

Insert the top of the tablet upward against the top cup to expand spring tension, then press the bottom of the tablet flush against the back plate. Finally, rest the tablet straight downward to dock on the pins of the docking cup.

What is the warranty coverage for this product?

All electronic components have a 3-year warranty, while all non-electronic components have a lifetime warranty. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship but does not cover abuse, alteration, or the mounted device itself.

How do I remove my device from the dock?

Simply pull the tab located on the back of the vehicle dock upward. This releases the device from the docking pins.

The dock includes #4 x 3/8" sheet metal screws (10) for attaching cups to backing plate, #8 x 5/8" machine screws (4) and #8 x 1/2" machine screws (4) along with #8 nylock nuts (4) for mounting to a RAM® system.

The dock is designed specifically for RAM® mounting systems. While it may be adapted, using RAM® components is recommended for proper fit and safety.

What is the purpose of the cable retention clip?

The cable retention clip (part H) is used to secure the USB cable and prevent it from being pulled or damaged. It attaches to the back of the dock using one of the available holes.

1. Use (E or F) Screws and (G) Nuts to attach vehicle dock to any RAM® mounting system, depending on the type of the component used:

1. Insert Micro USB 2.0 cable into GDS™ Dock's Micro USB 2.0 receiver. When plugged in, tablet will detect power source within two seconds. User must supply a USB wall charger or cigarette adapter with appropriate charging specifications for mounted device.

1. Snap USB cable into (H) cable retention clip.
