How do I assemble the GDS-DOCK-V2-AP7U?

Attach the top cup to the back plate using five #4 screws. Then attach the docking cup to the bottom of the back plate with five #4 screws. Use machine screws and nuts to secure the dock to your RAM mount. Avoid over-tightening to prevent screw protrusion.

How do I insert my device into the dock?

Insert the top of the tablet upward against the top cup to expand the spring tension. Press the bottom flush against the Tab-Tite back plate, then rest the bottom straight downward onto the docking pins. A power source should be detected within two seconds.

What power source do I need?

You must supply a USB wall charger or cigarette adapter with appropriate charging specifications for your mounted device. Connect a Micro USB 2.0 cable to the dock's receiver.

How do I manage the USB cable?

Snap the USB cable into the included cable retention clip. Use a #4 screw to attach the clip into any available hole behind the dock. Adjust the cable along the clip before tightening to avoid loose cables.

Is the dock compatible with all tablets?

This dock is designed for devices with an IntelliSkin™ case. Check compatibility on the GDS Technology website (www.gdstech.com) for your specific tablet or phone model.

Can I use this dock outdoors?

Yes, but for open cockpit or outdoor use, it is recommended to apply electrical tape to your USB connection for added weather protection.

What is the warranty coverage?

All electronic components have a 3-year warranty. All non-electronic components have a lifetime warranty. The mounted device itself is not covered. The warranty applies to defects in materials and workmanship, excluding abuse or misuse.

How do I remove my device from the dock?

Pull the tab located on the back of the vehicle dock upward. This releases the tension and allows you to lift the device off the docking pins.

What spare parts are included?

The dock includes a backing plate, top cup, docking cup, ten #4 x 3/8" sheet metal screws, four #8 x 5/8" machine screws, four #8 x 1/2" machine screws, four nylock nuts, and one cable retention clip.

Assembly

1. Use five (D) Screws to attach (B) Top cup to (A) Back Plate.

To prevent screws from protruding behind vehicle dock, avoid over-tightening.

1. Use (E or F) Screws and (G) Nuts to attach vehicle dock to any RAM® mounting system, depending on the type of the component used:

1. Insert Micro USB 2.0 cable into GDS™ Dock's Micro USB 2.0 receiver. When plugged in, tablet will detect power source within two seconds. User must supply a USB wall charger or cigarette adapter with appropriate charging specifications for mounted device.

Proper Insertion of IntelliSkin™

1. Insert top of tablet upward against top cup, expanding spring tension.

2. Press bottom of tablet flush against Tab-Tite back plate.

3. Rest bottom of tablet straight downward, docking on the pins of docking cup. When plugged in, tablet will detect power source within two seconds.
