How do I descale the iron?

Fill the water tank with a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water. Set the iron to steam mode and let it steam for 5 minutes, then empty and rinse thoroughly.

The iron is not producing steam. What should I do?

Ensure the water tank is filled, the temperature is set to steam range, and the iron is held horizontally. If still no steam, perform a self-clean cycle or descale.

Can I use tap water in the iron?

Yes, but to prevent mineral buildup, it is recommended to use distilled or demineralized water, especially in hard water areas.

What does the auto shut-off feature do?

The iron automatically turns off if left unattended: after 8 minutes in vertical position (on heel rest) or 30 seconds in horizontal position (on soleplate).

How do I clean the soleplate?

Allow the iron to cool, then wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth. For stubborn residue, use a non-abrasive cleaner or the self-clean function.

The iron is leaking water. Why?

Leaking may occur if the iron is not hot enough (below steam temperature), if the anti-drip valve is blocked, or if the water tank is overfilled.

What is the best temperature setting for delicate fabrics?

Set the iron to low temperature (synthetics/silk). Use a pressing cloth if needed. Avoid steam on delicate fabrics unless specified.

Can I use the iron vertically for steaming clothes?

Yes, hold the iron vertically and press the steam burst button. Ensure the iron is at high temperature and keep a safe distance from the garment.

How do I replace the water tank?

The water tank is built-in and not user-replaceable. If damaged, contact Imetec service center for repair.

Why does the iron turn off while I'm using it?

This is likely the auto shut-off feature activating. If the iron is moved too slowly or left stationary, it may shut off. Move the iron regularly to prevent this.

GENERAL WARNINGS

1. Look after this manual for any further consultation.

2. After unpacking, make sure that the appliance is intact without signs of damage caused by transport. If in doubt, stop using the appliance and take it to an authorised IMETEC service centre. All packing materials (plastic wrapping, cardboard box, etc.) are potentially dangerous and must be kept out of children's reach.

3. Before connecting the appliance to the power supply make sure that its rating corresponds to that of the power supply. The plate is on the bottom of the appliance.

4. This device must only be used for the purpose for which it was designed, that is, as an iron. Any other use is to be considered improper and therefore hazardous. The manufacturer declines all responsibility for any damage caused by improper, incorrect and unreasonable use of the appliance.

5. If there is a fault and/or the appliance operates irregularly, switch it off and do not tamper with it. For any repairs, only contact an authorised IMETEC service centre and ask for original spare parts. Failure to comply with the above may impair the safety of the appliance.

6. Should you decide not to use this appliance anymore, make it inoperative by cutting the power cord after removing the plug from the socket. We also recommend making all potentially dangerous parts of the appliance harmless, particularly for children who might use the appliance as a toy.

7. In order to avoid any dangerous overheating, we recommend fully unwinding the power cord.

8. The power cord must never be replaced by the customer. If the cord is damaged and needs to be replaced, contact an authorised IMETEC service centre.

9. The iron must be used on and rested on a stable surface. When the iron is resting on its iron rest censure that the work surface is stable. The iron must not be used if it has been dropped, if there are visible signs of damage or if there are water leaks.

10. The electrical safety of this appliance can be guaranteed only if it is correctly connected to an efficient earth circuit as indicated by current electrical safety regulations. It is necessary that you check this fundamental safety requirement. If in doubt, ask an authorised IMETEC service centre to inspect the circuit. The manufacturer declines all responsibility for any damage caused by failure to earth the equipment.

ZERO CALC ANTI-SCALE SYSTEM (where present)

A special resin filter inside the water reservoir softens the water and prevents scale build-up in the plate. The resin filter is permanent and does not need replacing.

Please note:

Use tap water only. Distilled and/demineralised water makes the “Zero-Calc” anti-scale system ineffective by altering its physico-chemical characteristics. Do not use chemical additives, scented substances or decalcifiers. Failure to comply with the above-mentioned regulations leads to the loss of guarantee.

ANTI-DRIP SYSTEM (where present)

With the anti-drip system, you can perfectly iron even the most delicate fabrics. Always iron these fabrics at low temperatures. The plate may cool down to the point where no more steam comes out, but rather drops of boiling water that can leave marks or stains. In these cases, the Anti-drip system automatically activates to prevent vaporisation, so that you can iron the most delicate fabrics without the risk of spoiling or staining them.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

When using the iron for the first time, you may notice a slight emission of smoke and hear some sounds made by the expanding plastics. This is quite normal and it stops after a short time. We also recommend passing the iron over an ordinary cloth before using it for the first time.

PREPARATIONS

Sort the laundry to be ironed according to the international symbols on the garment label, or if this is missing, according to the type of fabric.

synthetic, acrylic, nylon, polyester: low temperatures;

wool/silk: medium temperatures;

cotton, linen: high temperatures;

fabric not to be ironed.

Start ironing the garments requiring a low temperature. This reduces the waiting times (the iron takes less time to heat up than to cool down) and eliminates the risk of scorching the fabric.

STEAM IRONING

Filling the reservoir

• Check that the plug is disconnected from the socket. Move the steam selector ⑤ to "0" [Fig. A]. Open the lid ②. Raise the tip of the iron to help the water enter the opening without overflowing. Slowly pour the water into the reservoir using the special measure ⑬ and taking care not to go over the maximum level indicated by "MAX" on the reservoir [Fig. B]. Close the lid ②.

Selecting the temperature

- Put the iron in a vertical position. Put the plug in the socket. Adjust the thermostat ⑨ according to the international symbol on the garment label [Fig. C]. The plate temperature control light ⑥ indicates that the iron is heating up. Wait until the plate temperature control light goes off before ironing.

Warning: during ironing, the plate temperature control light⑥ comes on at intervals, indicating that the selected temperature is maintained. If you lower the thermostat temperature after ironing at a high temperature, do not start ironing until the plate temperature control light comes on again.

Selecting the steam

The quantity of steam is regulated by the steam selector ⑤. Move the steam selector to a position between minimum and maximum depending on the quantity of steam required and the temperature selected [Fig. A].

Warning: the iron gives off steam continuously only if you hold the iron horizontally. You can stop the continuous steam by placing the iron in a vertical position or by moving the steam selector to "0". As indicated on the thermostat knob ⑨ and in the initial table, you can only use steam at the highest temperatures. If the selected temperature is too low, water may drip off the plate.

Selecting Super-steam and steam when ironing vertically

Press the super-steam button ③ to generate a powerful shot of steam that can penetrate the fabrics and smooth the most difficult and tough creases. Wait for a few seconds before pressing again [Fig. D].

By pressing the super-steam button at intervals you can also iron vertically (curtains, hung garments, etc.) [Fig. E].

Warning: the super-steam function can only be used at high temperatures. Stop the emission when the plate temperature control light ⑥ comes on, then start ironing again only after the light has gone off.

DRY IRONING

To iron without steam, follow the instructions in section "steam ironing", leaving the steam selector ⑤ on position "0".

Spray Function

Make sure that there is water in the reservoir. Press the spray button ④ slowly (for a dense spray) or quickly (for a vaporised spray) [Fig. F].

Warning: for delicate fabrics, we recommend moistening the fabric beforehand using the spray function ④, or putting a damp cloth between the iron and the fabric. To avoid staining, do not use the spray on silk or synthetic fabrics.

CLEANING

Warning: before cleaning the iron in any way, make sure that the appliance is not plugged into the socket and that the plate has cooled completely.

Any deposits, starch residue or size left on the plate can be removed using a damp cloth or an unabrasive liquid detergent.

Avoid scratching the plate with steel wool or metallic objects. The plastic parts can be cleaned with a damp cloth then wiped over with a dry cloth.

SELF-CLEAN/CALC-CLEAN (where present)

The feature cleans inside the plate, removing limescale or other impurities. We recommend using it every 10-15 days. Directions:

- Fill the reservoir up to the maximum level indicated and set the steam selector ⑤ to "0".

- Set the thermostat ⑨ to the maximum temperature and wait for the light ⑥ to turn off.

- Pull the plug out of the socket and hold the iron horizontally over the sink.

- Keep the steam switch on the Self-Clean/Calc-Clean setting (or press the button located under the handle according to model) until all the boiling water, steam, impurities or limescale come out. When the soleplate has cooled down, you can clean it with a damp cloth.

HOW TO PUT IT AWAY

- Disconnect the plug of the iron from the socket. Empty the reservoir by turning the iron upside down and gently shaking it. Leave the iron to cool down completely. Roll up the power cord with the rewinder ⑧[Fig. G]. Always put the iron away in a vertical position.

ADVICE FOR GOOD IRONING

We recommend using the lowest temperatures with fabrics that have unusual finishes (sequins, embroidery, flush, etc.).

If the fabric is mixed (e.g. 40% cotton 60% synthetics), set the thermostat to the temperature of the fibre requiring the lowest temperature. If you don't know the composition of the fabric, determine the suitable temperature by testing on a hidden corner of the garment. Start with a low temperature and increase it gradually until it reaches the ideal temperature.

Never iron areas with traces of perspiration or other marks: the heat of the plate fixes the stains on the fabric, making them irremovable.

The size is more effective if you use a dry iron at a moderate temperature: excess heat scorches it with the risk of forming a yellow mark.

To avoid making silk, woollen or synthetic garments shiny, iron them inside out.

To avoid making velvet garments shiny, iron in one direction (following the fibre) and do not press down on the iron.

The heavier the washing machine is loaded, the more garments come out creased. This also happens when the spin drying revolutions are very high.

Many fabrics are easier to iron if they are not completely dry. For example, silk should always be ironed damp.
