Daily Usage
5.1 Temperature Setting
-
The temperature of the freezer can be controlled by using the thermostat control knob on the control panel.
-
According to different ambient temperatures, types and quantity of stored foods, proper adjustment of the thermostat control knob can make the interior temperature controlled within an appropriate temperature range.
-
There are OFF, 1 \~ 7 settings on the control panel. The temperature number settings do not represent the specific temperature. If the knob is turned to OFF position, the compressor will stop and the freezer will not operate. Turning the thermostat control knob in clockwise direction will increase the compressor's operating time, reduce the freezer's downtime, and reduce the interior temperature of the freezer. Turn the thermostat knob in anti-clockwise direction will shorten the compressor's working time, prolong the freezer's downtime, and will increase the interior temperature of the freezer.
-
"Run" & "Power" Indicator light is to determine if there is power or not and if the refrigerating system is working.
-
"Power" indicator (Red Light): Red light is ON when power is connected to the freezer
- "Run" indicator (Green Light): Green light is ON when compressor is running, or is OFF when compressor is not running.
Alert:
a. The temperature will be affected by:
• Room temperature
• How often the door is opened
• How much food is stored
• Position of the appliance
b. Please remember each time the lid is opened, cold air escapes and the internal temperature rises. Therefore, never leave the lid open and ensure it is closed immediately after food is put in or removed.
c. DO NOT frequently power ON / OFF the freezer.
d. If there is an electricity cut-off, please wait for 5 minutes before operating the appliance again to avoid damage to the compressor.
e. DO NOT DEEP freeze for a long time for more than 24 hours, it is not good for the refrigerating system. Turn back the knob to the normal cold working condition (position 2 or 3) when the articles are frozen.

Penggunaan Harian
5.1 Termostat
- Before using the freezer it must be cleaned thoroughly with lukewarm or clean water to remove away dust or dirt at the interior surface of the freezer. This is to avoid contamination of food.
- After cleaning, switch on the freezer and set the thermostat control knob at max position, without putting any food for at least 1-2 hours. This is to ensure that the cold air in the freezer has reached a suitable temperature for freezing food. As a result, frozen food can preserve its freshness and taste for a longer period.
- After stabilising the temperature, the thermostat control is set to the appropriate setting according to the food load.
ALERT:
a. During transportation, the oil in the compressor may have flowed into the refrigerator system. Let the unit stand for at least 2 hours in order to avoid the system from chocking.
b. During startup (i.e. 1-2 hours), DO NOT BE ALARMED by the heat on the external cabinet. This is normal as the condenser is concealed around the internal surface of the cabinet.
5.3 Defrosting
- Complete defrosting will in course of time become necessary. This should be carried out if the frost built up cannot be so craped away or if it begins to interfere with frozen food storage.
Procedures:
I. Take out the frozen food, turn the freezer off at the main supply and leave the lid open.
II. Scrape away as much frost as possible, thawing of the reminder can be accelerated by placing a bowl of hot water inside the cabinet. As the solid frost loosens, scrape it away with a plastic scraper (not provided) and then wipe over the cabinet and the lid and dry thoroughly.
III. When the cabinet is completely dry and clean, close the lid, switch on main supply. Proceed as for instruction on "OPERATION OF THE FREEZER".
ALERT:
a. This appliance should not be left unused for a long period. To stop using the appliance, disconnect the main power, clean the interior & dry it completely. Open the door for 2-3 days to ensure it is dry completely.
b. Never use sharp metal utensils to shovel off the frosting layers.
c. It is suggested that the freezer be cleaned periodically, generally clean it every 30-45 days.
d. Never use water to rinse the freezer.
5.4 Troubleshooting
- If hearing the sound of water flowing in the unit, this is the refrigerant flowing sound inside the pipe.
- If there is some dew on the surface of the unit, please wipe with dry cloth.
- The temperature on the compressor surface can reach about 70°C\~90°C during its working time.
- Should you find that your freezer does not work properly, please refer to the following table.
IMPORTANT:
If the problem stated in the following list cannot be solved, please call KHIND CUSTOMER SERVICE
