What is the maximum transmission distance of the EX1L extender?

The EX1L can extend 4K@60Hz signals up to 120 meters (394 feet) and 1080p signals up to 150 meters (492 feet) over a single CAT6/6a cable.

Does the EX1L support HDR and Dolby Vision?

Yes, it supports HDR8/10/10+, Dolby Vision™, Wide Color Gamut (WCG), and Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG).

Can I power only one unit and have the other get power via the CAT cable?

Yes, the EX1L supports Power over Cable (PoC). You only need to connect the 24V/1A power supply to either the transmitter or the receiver; the other unit will be powered through the CAT cable.

How do I connect IR control?

The extender includes IR blaster and receiver cables. Connect the IR receiver to the IR IN port of the unit near the remote source, and the IR blaster to the IR OUT port near the device to be controlled. The IR signals pass bi-directionally between the TX and RX.

Can I extract audio from the HDMI signal?

Yes, the transmitter has a 3.5mm stereo analog audio output. The receiver has both an optical SPDIF output and a 3.5mm stereo analog output for audio de-embedding.

What type of Ethernet cable should I use?

1 Introduction

This EX1L 18Gbps HDMI Extender can extend an HDR/Dolby Vision audio/video, RS-232, bi-directional IR, and the distance is up to and a 1080p signal up to 150m (492ft) between transmitter and single CAT cable. It supports resolution up to 4K2K@60Hz 4:4:4, and HDCP 2.2. Additional features include a HDMI loop out and embedder port on the TX, and audio de-embedding at the RX optical SPDIF and 3.5mm audio breakout on the RX device and by a single power supply on one end (can be powered from e 12V IR kit is supplied with the extender set as well.
