SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE When using tools, basic safety precautions should always be followed to avoid risk of personal injury as well as damaging the equipment.

Read all the instructions before using any tool.

1. Keep your work area tidy. Cluttered areas and benches invite accidents.

1. Consider work area environment. Do not use power tools in damp or wet locations. Do not expose power tools to rain. Keep work area well lit.

Do not use power tools where flammable liquids or gases are present.

1. Guard against electric shock. Prevent body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators or refrigerators.

2. Keep children away. Children should never be near work area. Children are not permitted to hold machinery, tools or extension cables.

Visitors are not allowed to handle tools; they should be kept away from work area.

1. Store idle tools. When not in use, tools should be stored in dry and dust free shelves, padlocked and out of children's reach.

2. Do not force the tool. It will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was intended.

Do not use inappropriate attachments to exceed the tool's capacity.

1. Use the right power tool. Do not force small tools to do heavy-duty jobs. Do not use power tools for heavy-duty jobs for which it was not designed.

2. Dress properly. Do not use loose clothing, gloves, ties or jewelry. They can be caught in moving parts. Non-skid footwear is recommended. Use hair covering to contain long hair.

1. Protect your eyes. Always wear appropriate safety accessories authorized by the Mexican Official Standard (Norma Oficial Mexicana NOM). Wear goggles, face and dust masks when working with materials that shed metallic parts, shavings or chemical dust.

2. Do not use the power cord for purposes different than those it was intended. Do not carry tool by the power cord or yank to disconnect it from socket. Protect cable from heat, oil and sharp edges.

3. Secure work piece. Use clamps or vices to hold work piece steady. Is safer than using one hand and enables to use both hands. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Do not overreach over or walk across the tool when is running.

4. Do not extend your range of action. Avoid a standing position that makes you get tired. Keep a safe position and stable balance.

5. Keep tools in the best conditions. Keep tools clean to get better performance. Follow lubrication and appliance

replacement instructions. Verify periodically the tool's cables; if damaged have them repaired in a Truper® Authorized Service Center. Handles should always be clean, dry and free of oil and grease.

1. Disconnect tools. Disconnect tools when idle, and before servicing.

2. Reduce the risk of unintentional starting. Do not carry a plugged-in tool with your finger on switch. Be sure switch position is OFF before plugging in power cord.

3. Outdoor use extension cords. Extension cords should be equivalent and duly marked.

4. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing. Use common sense. Do not operate tool when tired.

1. Check damaged parts. Before using the tool, carefully check guards or damaged moving part. Ascertain it operates and performs properly. Check moving parts alignment, binding, breakage, mounting and any other condition that may affect its operation. In order to guarantee proper function of the tool, all components should be adequately assembled and complying with the requirements. Any worn switch should be replaced in a Truper® Authorized Serviceer. Do not operate any power tool if the ON/OFF switch not working.

2. Parts and accessory replacement. When in need of replacing parts use only original Truper® spare parts designed to be used with this tool.

1. CAUTION personal safety use only accessories or additional equipment specified in this manual or recommended by the manufacturer. Using of any other accessory not specified in this manual may present risk of personal injury.

1. Ear protection. When performing services with a noise level higher than 85 dB wear protective earplugs.

This tool is not designed for people (children included) whose physical, sensorial or mental capacities are reduced. Neither by inexperienced people or with no knowledge of the tool; only if they are supervised by persons responsible of their safety or who have received previous instructions on how to operate the tool.

CAUTION

Children should be supervised to verify they do play with the tool. It requires tight supervision when bled people or children use any power tool or are one.

INTRODUCTION

The compressor duty life can be maximized when using it correctly and giving regular service.

This MANUAL delivers operating instructions and maintenance. Read it carefully and save it as guide for the compressor correct operation.

The compressor design is for compressed air production. The air produced is not meant for breathing or to be in direct contact with food. The unit should only be used for the function it was made for. Any other type of use will be considered incorrect and dangerous. The manufacturer will not be liable for any damage caused by incorrect, inappropriate or dangerous use.

The unit is not suitable for outdoors

SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Important: Before using the unit please read and follow the following safety instructions

- Only people who previously read the MANUAL and have knowledge about the standards of a correct and safe operation should use the compressor.

- Use care when using compressed air. Never aim airflow towards people or animals. Do not use compressed air to clean clothes.

- Breathing compressed air is forbidden.

- The compressor shall be set in a fix and stable position. Use care with horizontal positions.

- The unit is not designed for continuous use. It runs 30% during 60 minutes.

- Do not exceed the maximum operation pressure. Use the unit at 41 °F and 104 °F room temperature.

- Never operate the unit when parts are missing.

- The unit functional parts could get hot during operation. Let it cool down after using.

- After each use the tank should be ventilated. Wipe dry any remaining humidity. Not drying the tank could be dangerous.

- Double check the electric circuit has an adequate protection and matches the motor power, voltage and frequency. Verify there are a grounded connection and a differential circuit breaker device.

- Never open the motor button box. Contact a Truper Authorized Service Center if necessary.

- DANGER The alert and caution symbols and instructions included in this MANUAL cannot cover all possible conditions or situations occurring. The user has to understand that all the safety factors are not included and are not caused by the product. It is your own responsibility using common sense and caution when operating this unit.

- Only people reading and understanding the correct use of the compressor shall use the unit. Incorrect use can be dangerous.

Dangerous plates

The plates fixed to the compressor are part of the unit. They were designed for safety purposes and for no reason at all they can be removed or modified.

SETTING

The compressor shall be set in a way that every fixture designed to carry it are functional. Use care with horizontal positions. The motor needs enough cool air. Never cover the ventilation areas. Set the compressor in a cool and dustless area. Never set the compressor into a room that is going to be painted. Paint could clog the air filter and get accumulated into the compressor.

Keep in mind that the On/Off switch, the tank drain, and the oil deposit cap are easy to reach. Leave an open space of approximately 11.8" for ventilation and maintenance.

NOTE The compressor performance may be considerably reduced when there is not enough air supply, in high temperatures or if the air filter is clogged.

CONNECTION TO THE MAIN POWER SUPPLY

The compressor shall be set as close as possible to the main power supply. Double-check the power supply matches the voltage indicated in the motor nameplate.

We do not recommend using power

cord extensions with compressors. Using that type of extension cause power drops resulting in motor potency loss and overheating. Instead of using an extension cord increase the compressor's action scope connecting a longer hose into the outlet. Connect additional hose lengths as needed.

ELECTRIC CONNECTION

The unit is factory-equipped with cables. It shall be connected to the corresponding power outlet. Connect the tool to a separate power outlet. Double-check voltage and electric circuit current matches the one corresponding to the motor. Use only cables with the right diameter. We recommend using at least an 8 AWG cable with 590.5" lengths maximum.

AIR CONNECTION

For the best use of the compressor connect the flexible hose to the air circuit to isolate the unit's vibrations.

FIRST USE

1. Verify the previous instructions have been carried out.
2. Oftentimes when the compressor is shipped it contains a small amount of oil. Fill up the compressor up to the red circle in the oil level.
3. Set the air filter (1) in the cylinder head (first, remove the transport cap from the setting orifice).
4. Remove the transport cap (with no orifice) and set the oil deposit cap (5)
5. Refrain from using electric extensions. If you must use them unwind completely and use cables with enough capacity..

• Turn on the compressor with the On/Of switch (9)..
- At this moment the compressor is ready to function, unless the air receptor is still under low pressure. (Gauge).

- Turn off the unit while is running using the automatic pressure switch button. The pressure switch will be ventilated and the compressor will start again with no load.

OPERATION

1. The compressor will automatically stop operating when reaching 800 kPa (116 PSI) pressure. When air and tank pressure are reduced to 600 kPa (87 PSI), the compressor will automatically start again.
2. Most pneumatic machines will use approximately 600 kPa (87 PSI) operating pressure. However, for some applications this is a low pressure. To adjust the adequate pressure the compressor has a reduction valve. This valve can adjust the air receptor valve, (keeping in mind this will never be a higher pressure than the one in the oil receptor).
3. Adjusting the reduction valve is done pressing the switch to adjust the right pressure (to the left, to lower pressure and to the right, to increase it). The pressure adjustment can be read in the gauge.

MAINTENANCE

Before carrying out any type of maintenance please turn off the unit and disconnect from the power outlet.

1. Change oil after the first 50 hours of use and every 500 hours operation. Remove the oil deposit cap and the oil drain cap. Collect used oil into a container. Set the oil drain cap and pour oil into the casing upto the right level through the filling orifice. Oil change shall be made while the motor is still hot (but not too hot) to allow oil to drain completely.

The red circle in the oil leveler indicates the right oil level. Follow the regulation to dispose off used oil.

1. Drain regularly condensation water. The drain valve is in the low side of the tank. The easiest way to drain is under pressure. Some compressors have a post-cooler with their own drain key. These types of units need also to drain regularly condensation water.

Discard condensation water according to the local standards (do not pour into the drain).

You can set a water/oil separator as an alternative.

1. Regularly check oil level. To learn about the right oil levels see point 1. Refill with SAE 5W50 synthetic oil if necessary. Many accidents can be prevented when verifying oil level on a daily basis!

Use the same oil the unit uses. Do not mix different types of oil!

1. The air filter needs frequent cleaning or replacing. The frequency of this change will depend on how dirty it is. Should the unit is being used in dirty or dusty environments change more frequently. To clean, remove the filter and container. Clean the filter blowing dust away.
