How should I use the iron for the first time?

Remove all packaging and stickers. Set the iron to maximum temperature and run it over a damp cloth for a few minutes to remove any residues. A slight odor or smoke is normal and will stop.

How do I fill the water tank?

Hold the iron upright, open the filling cover, and pour clean water using the supplied jug up to the MAX mark. Do not overfill.

Why is no steam coming out?

Check that the water tank is not empty and that the steam control is set to a steam position. Also ensure the iron has reached the set temperature (status lamp off). For dry ironing, set steam control to the dry position.

How do I use the steam burst function?

P ress and release the steam burst button at maximum temperature. Wait a few seconds between presses to allow steam pressure to build. This works horizontally or vertically for hanging garments.

What does the drip stop feature do?

If the soleplate temperature drops during prolonged ironing, the steam flow is automatically turned off to prevent water dripping onto the garment.

How do I clean limescale from the iron?

Use the self-cleaning function: fill water, set to max temperature, wait until status lamp goes out, hold iron over sink, and press and hold the SELFCLEAN button until water is expelled. Do not use vinegar or detergents.

Why is my iron leaking water?

Ensure the steam control is set to dry until the set temperature is reached. If the temperature is too low for steam, condensation may cause leaks. Also avoid overfilling.

What temperature should I use for different fabrics?

Refer to the fabric table: synthetics (low), wool/silk (medium, no steam), cotton/linen (high, steam). For mixed fabrics, use the lower temperature setting. Always test on a hidden area first.

How should I store the iron after use?

Unplug and empty the water tank. Turn steam control to dry, temperature dial to minimum, let cool completely. Wrap the cord around the heel and store upright on a stable surface in a dry place.

What does the self-cleaning function do?

It flushes out impurities and limescale by forcing steam and boiling water through the soleplate. Use regularly depending on water hardness to maintain performance.

USE

When the product is new

Remove all packaging material and any stickers. Let the iron heat to and maintain its maximum temperature for a few minutes, over a damp cloth, to remove any residual contamination from the soleplate.

NOTE: The iron can give off a certain colour and smoke the first time it is used. This is completely normal and soon stops.

Use

NOTE: Do not run the iron over hard objects, such as buttons, zips, parts of the ironing board and the like.

1. Hold the iron in the upright position (figure 1) and fill the water tank with clean water using the supplied filling jug (12). Do not fill above the MAX mark.
2. Plug the power cord into the power outlet and turn the temperature knob so that it points to the desired temperature setting for the garment to be ironed. The status lamp comes on (fig. 2).

1. Make sure that the steam control is in the dry ironing position (fig. 5) and position the iron vertically (fig. 4).

1. The status lamp comes on when the iron is heating up and goes out when set temperature is reached. When the lamp goes out, you can set the steam control to the desired position (dry ironing "sp" or steam ironing "w") and start ironing.

WARNING: The soleplate and the steam are very hot - risk of burns.

Spray button

If the garment needs to be moistened, check that the water level in the water tank is enough, direct the nozzle (2) and then press the spray button (5) a few times.

Steam burst button

The steam burst function is best suited at maximum temperature, and helps to smooth out difficult creases and wrinkles. Press down the steam burst button (5) one or more times. Wait a few seconds between times, so that steam pressure begins to build up and the garment fibres have time to absorb the steam. The steam burst function can also be used when the iron is held vertically, for example, to straighten out creases from hanging clothes, curtains, etc.

Drip stop

If the soleplate temperature drops due to prolonged ironing, the flow of steam is turned off automatically, so that the soleplate does not drip water on the garment.

NOTE: Normal tap water can be used without deteriorating the steam ironing function. However, demineralised water is recommended for calcareous (hard) water. Never fill the water tank with anything other than water and do not use fabric softener, scented water, starch and other additives that can damage the steam system. Do not use contaminated or chemically descaled water.

Tips

• Sort the garments to be ironed according to the temperature they can withstand (wool with wool, cotton with cotton, etc.). Start with garments that have the lowest ironing temperature, for example, synthetics. Continue with garments that withstand a higher temperature.
• For mixed materials, e.g. 40% cotton and 60% polyester, use the temperature setting for the material that withstands the lowest temperature.
  • Use a low temperature for garments with spangles, embroidery, and applications etc.
• If you are unsure of the temperature the material can withstand, try ironing a concealed part of the garment. Start with a low temperature and gradually increase to a suitable temperature.
• Never iron over stains. The heat will cause stains to burn into the material.
• Use a medium temperature when ironing without steam. A high temperature can leave yellow marks.
• Iron silk, woollen and synthetic garments from the reverse side to avoid leaving marks.
• Iron velvet in the direction of the Obres and do not press on the iron to avoid making the material shiny.
• Many fabrics are easier to iron when they are not completely dry for example, silk should also be ironed when damp.
• Garments become more wrinkled if the washing machine is full and when spin drying at high speed.
  It is important that the soleplate is smooth. Do not run the iron over hard objects, such as buttons, zips, parts of the ironing board and the like.
• Fibres of 100% wool can be ironed. Set a large amount of steam and use a dry ironing cloth.

After use

1. Unplug the iron from the power outlet and drain the water tank.
2. Wipe the soleplate by plugging in the power cord again and remove it when the status light goes out.
3. Let the soleplate cool completely and then wipe it with a cloth dampened with water and a mild detergent.
4. Clean the casing with a damp cloth.
5. Store the iron with the water tank empty, standing on a stable surface with a cloth protecting the soleplate.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING: Always unplug the iron from the power outlet before performing any kind of maintenance.

Cleaning

Clean the appliance regularly at intervals corresponding to the hardness of the water and how often the appliance is used.

1. Fill the water tank with water and turn the temperature knob to the MAX position.

2. Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet. The status lamp comes on. Set the steam control to the dry ironing position and place the iron vertically (fig. 4).

IMPORTANT: Never attempt to remove lime-scale from the water tank by filling it with vinegar or another detergent.

1. When the status lamp goes out, hold the iron over a sink or the like and press and hold the SELFCLEAN button. Some force is needed to push the button. Steam and boiling water will spray out from the soleplate and flush away impurities and lime-scale deposits.

2. Release the button when all the water in the water tank has been consumed.

Descaling

The appliance includes a descaling unit which absorbs insoluble calcium ions and discharges soluble sodium ions. This softens the water and slows the precipitation of lime.

Storage

1. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
2. Turn the steam control (4) to the "position."
3. Turn the temperature knob (10) to the lowest temperature.
4. Allow the iron to cool completely.
5. Empty the water tank by opening the lid on the water tank (3) and turn the iron upside down and shake it gently.
6. Wrap the power cord around the rear of the iron and secure it with the power cord clip.
7. Store the iron vertically on the heel in a dry and safe place.

NOTE: A damaged power cord must be replaced by an authorised service centre, or qualified person, to ensure safe use.

TROUBLESHOOTING

The iron does not get hot.	- The appliance must be connected to a power outlet with the correct rated voltage.Make sure that the temperature knows is set to the required temperature.
Iron does not produce steam	- The water tank is empty. Unplug the power cord and allow the iron to cool. Move the steam control to the position and fill with water. Wait until the status lamp goes out to snow that the set temperature has been reached and turn the steam control to the required setting.
The function extra steam (steam burst) does not work	- the water tank must be at least a 1/4 full. The steam control must be set to steam mode. The iron must be horizontal. Press the steam button briefly to activate the function and wait a few seconds between each time the button is pressed. Remember to press down the steam button fully.
The spray function does not work	- The water tank must be at least a 1/4 full. Fill the water tank.
The iron leaks.	- The steam control must be set to " " until the set temperature is reached.- Too low temperature setting to produce steam.- the steam spray function has been used so much that the iron has cooled down. Wait until the set temperature is reached again.
