How do I connect my laptop to the docking station?

Plug the included USB-C cable into your laptop's USB-C port and the docking station. For full functionality (charging, video, data), ensure your laptop supports USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode or Thunderbolt 3/4. If the laptop does not charge, connect the power adapter to the docking station's DC-in port.

Does it support dual monitors?

No, the GPX CI189 has only one HDMI output, so it supports a single external monitor. However, you can use the built-in laptop display in extended mode for a dual-screen setup.

Can I charge my phone through the USB ports?

Yes, the USB-A ports can charge phones at up to 5V/1.5A, and the USB-C port (data only) can charge at up to 5V/3A. Note that the USB-C port does not support video or high-speed data when used for charging.

Is it compatible with MacBook?

Yes, the docking station is compatible with MacBook models that have USB-C ports, including MacBook Air (2018 and later) and MacBook Pro (2016 and later). It supports charging up to 85W, which is suitable for most MacBooks.

How to update firmware?

The GPX CI189 does not support user firmware updates. The device is factory-programmed and should work out of the box with standard USB-C and video protocols. If you experience issues, contact GPX customer support.

What is the maximum resolution supported?

The HDMI port supports up to 4K resolution at 60Hz. For 4K@60Hz, your laptop must support HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.4 over USB-C. Lower resolutions (1080p, 1440p) are also supported at higher refresh rates (up to 144Hz).

Does it come with a power adapter?

Yes, the package includes a 96W power adapter that connects to the docking station's DC-in port. This adapter provides passthrough charging for your laptop and powers the dock's ports. If you lose it, a standard USB-C PD charger (65W or higher) can be used.

How to clean the docking station?

Disconnect all cables and turn off the device. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use water, alcohol, or abrasive cleaners. Ensure all ports are dry before reconnecting.

What devices are compatible?

The docking station is compatible with most USB-C devices that support DisplayPort Alt Mode, including Windows laptops, MacBooks, Chromebooks, and some Android tablets. It is not compatible with devices that lack video output over USB-C, such as older iPads or iPhones.

Does it support fast charging?

The docking station supports USB-C Power Delivery (PD) 3.0 for fast charging laptops up to 85W. For phones, the USB-C port can deliver up to 15W (5V/3A) and USB-A ports up to 7.5W (5V/1.5A), so fast charging is limited to standard charging speeds for most phones.

1. Ventilation - Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation and to ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating, and these openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. This product should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer's instruction have been adhered to.
2. Power Sources - This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your product dealer or local power company. For products intended to operate from battery power, or other sources, refer to the operating instruction.
3. Grounding or Polarization - This product may be equipped with a polarized alternating-current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact your electrician to replace your

obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarizes plug.

Alternate Warnings - This product is equipped with a three-wire grounding-type plug, a plug having a third (grounding) pin. This plug will only fit into a grounding-type power outlet. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug into the outlet, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the grounding-type plug.

1. Power-Cord Protection - Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and point where they exit from the product.
2. Protective Attachment Plug - The product is equipped with an attachment plug having overload protection. This is a safety feature. See Instruction Manual for replacement or resetting of protective device. If replacement of the plug is required, be sure the service technician has used a replacement plug specified by the manufacturer that has the same overload protection as the original plug.
3. Outdoor Antenna Grounding - If an outside antenna is connected to the receiver, be sure the antenna system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built-up static charges. Article 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information with regard to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna-discharge unit, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna-discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode.

1. Lightning - For added protection for this product during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage to the product due to lightning and power-line surges.
2. Power Lines - An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as contact with them might be fatal.
3. Overloading - Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
4. Object and Liquid Entry - Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product.
5. Servicing - Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service

personnel.

1. Damage Requiring Service - Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:

a) When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged,
b) If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the product,
c) If the product has been exposed to rain, water or moisture.
d) If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating instructions as an improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and will often require extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the product to its normal operation.
e) If the product has been dropped or damaged in any way, and
f) When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance - this indicates a need for service.
22. Replacement Parts - When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards.
23. Safety Check - Upon completion of any service or repairs to this product, ask the service technician to perform safety checks to determine that the product is in proper operating condition.
24. Wall or Ceiling Mounting - The product should be mounted to a wall or ceiling only as recommended by the manufacturer.

Powering the Unit

To power the unit, plug the attached AC cord into a standard AC outlet (120V\~60Hz)

Battery Backup

Install a 9-Volt Battery into the Battery Compartment on the bottom of the unit to serve as a battery backup.

This is meant only to keep the time and alarm settings in the case of unexpected power failure. The unit cannot run off of the backup battery long term.

Docking an iPod

Locate the numbered bracket that matches the iPod to be docked.Step 1:

Each included bracket has a number on it indicating which iPod • model that bracket is compatible with. Use the bracket chart (separate from the manual) to identify which bracket is needed.

Snap the bracket into place over the dock for iPod.Step 2:

All brackets will only fit one way onto the dock.•

When inserting an iPod nano (first or second generation), slide the • connection for iPod over so that it matches the opening on the iPod nano.

Dock the iPod onto the connection.Step 3:

Once an iPod is docked onto the unit, the powered unit will charge the Step 4: docked iPod.

Playing an iPod

	Dock an iPod onto the unit.Step 1:
Step 2:	Adjust the Source Switch to iPod Mode.
	Press the Step 3: Play/Pause Button to begin playing the docked iPod.
Step 4:	The Play/Pause and Skip/Search Buttons on the unit can be used to control the iPod, or the iPod's native controls can be used.

Setting the Clock

	Press and hold the Step 1: Clock Set Button.
Step 2:	While holding the Clock Set Button, press the Hour Button to adjust the hour, and the Minute Button to adjust the minute.
	The PM Indicator at the top left of the LED Display will illuminate • when the time is set to PM.
	Release the Step 3: Clock Set Button to set the adjusted time.

Setting the Alarm

	Press and hold the Step 1: Alarm Set Button.
Step 2:	While holding the Alarm Set Button, press the Hour Button to adjust the hour, and the Minute Button to adjust the minute.
	The PM Indicator at the top left of the LED Display will illuminate • when the time is set to PM.
	Release the Step 3: Alarm Set Button to set the adjusted alarm time.
Step 4:	Adjust the Alarm Source Switch to Music or Buzzer. This indicates which type of audio will sound when the alarm time is reached.
	Press the Step 5: Power Button to power the unit off.
	Be sure the volume is set to an appropriate level for your hearing.•

Setting the Sleep Timer

	Press and hold the Step 1: Sleep Button.
Step 2:	While holding the Sleep Button, press the Hour Button to adjust the hour, and the Minute Button to adjust the minute.
	The maximum time the sleep timer can be set to is 1hour 59 minutes.
	Release the Step 3: Sleep Button to set the adjusted sleep time.

Skip/Search Buttons1.

Press the Skip/Search Buttons to skip from one track to the next on a docked iPod.

Press and hold the Skip/Search Buttons to search through an individual track on a docked iPod.

Alarm Set/Alarm Off Button2.

Press and hold the Alarm Set Button to set the alarm.

After the alarm sounds, press the Alarm Off Button to turn the alarm off.

Hour Button3.

Press the Hour Button to adjust the hour when setting the clock or alarm.

Power Button4.

Press the Power Button to power the unit off or on.

Snooze Button5.

Press the Snooze Button to delay the alarm for an additional 9 minutes after it has sounded.

FM Wire Antenna6.

Adjust the FM Wire Antenna to improve the unit's FM radio reception.

To improve AM radio reception, adjust the position of the unit.

Headphone Jack7.

Use the Headphone Jack to connect a set of headphones or earbuds to the unit.

Clock Set Button8.

Press and hold the Clock Set Button to set the clock.

Minute Button9.

Press the Minute Button to adjust the minute when setting the clock or alarm.

Sleep Button10.

Use the Sleep Button to adjust the sleep timer.

The maximum time the sleep timer can be set to is 1 hour 59 minutes.

Play/Pause Button11.

Press the Play/Pause Button to play or pause a docked iPod.

Auxiliary Input12.

Use the Auxiliary Input to connect an external audio source to the unit.

PM Indicator13.

The PM Indicator is lit when the time is set to pm, and not lit when the time is in the am.

Alarm Indicator14.

The Alarm Indicator is lit when the alarm is set and turned on.

Alarm Source Switch15.

Use the Alarm Source Switch to set which function the alarm will sound to.

Auto Off - When switched to Auto Off, the alarm is turned off.

Music - When switched to Music, adjust the other Source Switch to select AM or FM radio, or iPod.

Buzzer - When switched to Buzzer, a buzzing will sound when the alarm time is reached.

Tuning Dial16.

Use the Tuning Dial to adjust the FM or AM radio frequency.

LED Display17.

The LED Display displays the time, alarm time, and sleep time.

Power Indicator18.

When illuminated the unit is powered on.

The unit only needs to be powered on to listen to the radio or a docked iPod.

FM Stereo Indicator19.

When illuminated, this indicates that the FM radio is receiving stereo reception.

Volume Dial20.

Use the Volume Dial to adjust the level of audio output from the unit.

Source Switch21.

Use the Source Switch to adjust between AM, FM, or iPod/Aux music modes.
