Frequently Asked Questions - RK 1712 Surfer ECG

How do I use the kettle for the first time?
Before first use, wash the kettle and boil clean water at least five times. Fill to max level, boil, pour out, and repeat. This removes any manufacturing residues and after-taste.
What is the maximum water capacity?
The maximum capacity is 1.7 liters. Always fill between the MIN and MAX marks on the water level indicator.
Why does the kettle not turn on or heat?
Ensure the kettle is properly placed on its base and the plug is inserted into a working outlet. The switch must be slid to the 'I' position. If it still does not work, check for power supply issues or contact service.
How do I descale the kettle?
Use a commercially available descaling agent or a mixture of water and vinegar. Fill the kettle with the solution, boil, let it sit, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. Repeat if necessary.
Can I boil other liquids like milk or tea?
No, only boil water. Adding tea bags, milk, or other ingredients can damage the kettle and void the warranty.
Is the kettle safe to use?
Yes, it has automatic shut-off and boil-dry protection. However, always supervise use, keep away from children, and do not immerse in water.
How do I clean the scale filter?
The scale filter is removable. Take it out and rinse under running water or soak in descaling solution. Reattach before use.
Can I use the kettle without the base?
No, the kettle must always be placed on its original base to operate safely. The base connects the power.
What should I do if the kettle leaks?
Check if the lid is properly closed. If leaking persists, stop use and contact customer service. Do not attempt to repair yourself.
How long does it take to boil 1 liter of water?
Boiling time depends on water temperature and volume. Typically, 1 liter of water boils in about 3-4 minutes at full power (1850-2200 W).
