Frequently Asked Questions - ColumbiaVac OPC1000N Eldom

How do I set the desired humidity level?
Press the HUM SET button repeatedly to cycle through values from 30% to 80% RH. The display shows the selected value. When the ambient humidity is 3% above the set point, the dehumidifier starts; 3% below, it stops.
Why is the water tank full indicator red and flashing?
The red indicator and an audible alarm mean the tank is full (2 L). Empty the tank and reinstall it properly. The alarm stops when any button is pressed. The dehumidifier will resume operation once the tank is correctly placed.
How do I use the continuous drain function?
Remove the water tank, then remove the tank housing component. Attach the included hose to the water outlet valve inside the tank bay. Route the hose through the cut-out and place the other end into a drain (e.g., floor drain or bucket). Ensure the hose is not bent and its outlet is below the device outlet.
How often should I clean the air filter?
Clean the air filter every 2 weeks. Remove it, wash with warm water (around 40°C) and mild detergent, rinse, dry thoroughly, and reinstall. Never operate the device without the filter.
What does error code E2 mean?
Error code E2 indicates a problem with the humidity sensor. Contact an authorized service center for repair.
Why does the dehumidifier keep stopping or not work?
Check if the water tank is full or misaligned (red indicator). Ensure the room temperature is between 5°C and 35°C. Also check if the air filter is clogged, doors/windows are open, or the unit is near a heat source. Clean the filter and relocate if needed.
How do I use the timer function?
For a delayed start, the dehumidifier must be off but plugged in. Press TIMER to set hours (1–12). For auto shut-off, the unit must be running; press TIMER to set the time after which it turns off. Setting 00 cancels the timer.
What is the night program?
The night program sets the fan to low speed and dims the display after 10 seconds. The dehumidifier maintains humidity between 57% and 63% RH. Audible signals are disabled. It is ideal for quiet operation in bedrooms.
How do I store the dehumidifier when not in use?
Unplug the unit, empty the water tank completely (ensure no water inside), clean and dry the air filter, then reinstall. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, and dust.
Why does the unit display LO or HI?
LO means ambient humidity is below 20% – the unit stops automatically. HI means humidity above 95% – it will still operate but may display this warning. Both are normal and not faults.
