Frequently Asked Questions - SVAD GK170 Eldom

How do I use the SVAD GK170 contact grill?
Plug in the grill, set the desired temperature using the thermostat knob, and wait for the ready light. Place food on the lower plate, close the lid, and cook until done. Adjust time and temperature as needed.
Can I cook frozen food directly on the grill?
It is recommended to thaw frozen food before grilling to ensure even cooking. However, you can adjust cooking time accordingly; check internal temperature for safety.
How do I clean the non-stick plates?
Unplug and let the grill cool. Wipe the plates with a damp cloth or sponge. For stubborn residue, use a plastic scraper. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal utensils. The drip tray is removable and dishwasher-safe.
What is the maximum temperature the grill reaches?
The thermostat can be adjusted up to approximately 230°C (450°F). It is ideal for grilling meats, vegetables, and making paninis.
Does the grill have an automatic shut-off feature?
Yes, the SVAD GK170 is equipped with an automatic shut-off for safety. It turns off after a period of inactivity or if overheating occurs.
Can I use aluminum foil or parchment paper on the grill?
It is not recommended as it may interfere with heat distribution and damage the non-stick coating. The plates are designed for direct contact with food.
What should I do if the plates are sticking?
Ensure the plates are clean and lightly coated with oil. Avoid cooking sugary foods at high temperatures. If sticking persists, consider replacing the plates if the coating is worn.
Is the grill suitable for outdoor use?
The grill is designed for indoor use only. Do not expose to rain or moisture. Use on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials.
Where can I purchase spare parts?
Spare parts such as cooking plates and drip trays are available through the Eldom website or authorized service centers. Contact customer support for assistance.
What does the floating hinge do?
The floating hinge allows the top plate to adjust to the thickness of the food, ensuring even contact and uniform grilling. It also helps avoid crushing delicate items.
