How do I clean the air filter?
Disconnect the power plug. Remove the grilles using the handles, extract the filters, and clean with a brush or vacuum. If very dirty, wash in warm water (max 40°C) and dry thoroughly before reinserting. Clean every two weeks.

GENERAL WARNINGS

- This appliance is for air conditioning the local space in domestic environments, it is intended for domestic use only (therefore not professional/commercial) use, for cooling, drying and ventilating the air inside rooms, as described in this manual. Do not use the appliance in particularly dusty rooms, or in the presence of extremely volatile materials, which might foul the filters or damage the motor, or outdoors.

- Examples of household appliances are appliances for typical household functions, those used in the home, or those which may be used for typical household functions even by untrained persons:

  • in shops, offices and other similar workplaces;
  • on farms and in similar locations;
  • by the customers of hotels, motels and other residential environments;
  • in bed and breakfast establishments.

- The appliance is suitable for operation at a temperature between 7^ and 35^ .

- Do not use the appliance unless all its components are correctly fitted.

- The appliance must only be used in the vertical position; do not sit or stand on the unit.

- Warning: when using electrical appliances, always comply with the basic safety precautions to avoid the risks of fire, electric shock and physical injury.

- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and the necessary knowledge providing they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance intended to be carried out by the user should not be done by children unless they are supervised.

Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance. R290 is a refrigerant gas that conforms to EU environmental directives.

This appliance contains approximately 210g of R290 refrigerant gas.

The appliance must be installed, used and stored in a place with a surface area greater than 11 m ^2 .

  1. WARNINGS FOR REFRIGERANT GAS R290

1.1 The equipment contains gas R290 (flammability class A3). The amount expressed in weight and in CO2 of fluorinated greenhouse gas for which the device is designed and the global warming potential of this gas is 210 g.

The equipment must be stored in a well ventilated location with a minimum room size of 11 m2.

The equipment must be installed, used and kept in a room with a floor surface area greater than 11 m2.

  1. WARNING FOR R290 REFRIGERANT GAS

1.1 The appliance contains R290 gas (flammability classification A3).

The appliance shall be stored in a room Without continuously operating ignition sources (for example: open flames, an operating gas appliance or an operating electric heater).

Be aware that the refrigerants may not contain an odour.

R290 is a refrigerant gas in compliance with the European directives on environment. do not pierce any part of the refrigerant circuit.

Do not use means to accelerate the defrosting process or to clean, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

when defrosting and cleaning the appliance.

If the appliance is installed, used or stored in a non-ventilated area, the room must be designed to prevent the accumulation of refrigerant leaks with the consequent fire or explosion hazard due to the refrigerant combustion caused by electrical heaters, stoves or others sources of ignition.

Compliance with national gas regulations shall be observed.

Keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction.

The appliance shall be stored so as to prevent mechanical damage from occurring.

Any person who is involved with working on or breaking into a refrigerant circuit should hold a current valid certificate from an industry-accredited assessment authority, which authorises their competence to handle refrigerants safely in accordance with an industry recognised assessment specification.

Servicing shall only be performed as recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Maintenance and repair requiring the assistance of other skilled personnel shall be carried out under the supervision of the person competent in the use of flammable refrigerants.

The storage of equipment should be in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

Storage of packed (unsold) equipment.

Storage package protection should be constructed such that mechanical damage to the equipment inside the package will not cause a leak of the refrigerant charge. The maximum number of pieces of equipment permitted to be stored together will be determined by local regulations.

Information on servicing

Checks to the area. Prior to beginning work on systems containing flammable refrigerants, safety checks are necessary to ensure that the risk of ignition is minimised.

For repair to the refrigerating system, the following precautions shall be complied with prior to conducting work on the system.

Work procedure. Work shall be undertaken under a controlled procedure so as to minimise the risk of a flammable gas or vapour being present while the work is being performed.

General work area. All maintenance staff and others working in the local area shall be instructed

on the nature of work being carried out. Work in confined spaces shall be avoided. The area around the workspace shall be sectioned off. Ensure that the conditions within the area have been made safe by control of

flammable material.

1.1.5 Checking for presence of refrigerant. The area shall be checked with an appropriate refrigerant detector prior to and during work, to ensure the technician is aware of potentially flammable atmospheres. ensure that the leak detection equipment being used is suitable for use with flammable refrigerants, i.e. non-sparking, adequately sealed or intrinsically safe.

1.1.6 Presence of fire extinguisher. if any hot work is to be conducted on the refrigeration equipment or any associated parts, appropriate fire extinguishing equipment shall be available at hand.

Have a dry powder or CO2 fire extinguisher adjacent to the charging area.

1.1.7 No ignition sources. No person carrying out work in relation to a refrigeration system which involves exposing any pipe work that contains or has contained flammable refrigerant shall use any sources of ignition in such a manner that it may lead to the risk of fire or explosion.

1.1.8 Ventilated area. Ensure that the area is in the open or that it is adequately ventilated before breaking into the system or conducting any hot work.

1.1.9 Checks to the refrigeration equipment. Where electrical components are being changed, they shall be fit for the purpose and

The following checks shall be applied to installations using flammable refrigerants. The charge size is in accordance with the room size within which the refrigerant containing parts are installed; the ventilation machinery and outlets are operating adequately and are not obstructed; if an indirect refrigerating circuit is being used, the secondary circuit shall be checked for the presence of refrigerant; marking to the equipment continues to be visible and legible. markings and signs that are illegible shall be corrected; refrigeration pipe or components are installed in a position where they are unlikely to be exposed to any substance which may corrode refrigerant containing components, unless the components are constructed of materials which are inherently resistant to being corroded or are suitably protected against being so corroded.

Checks to electrical devices. Repair and maintenance to electrical components shall include initial safety checks and component inspection procedures. if a fault exists that could compromise safety, then no electrical supply shall be connected to the circuit until it is satisfactorily dealt with. if the fault cannot be corrected immediately but it is necessary to continue operation, an adequate temporary solution shall be used. This shall be reported to the owner of the equipment so all parties are advised. initial safety checks shall include: that capacitors are discharged: this shall be done in a safe manner to avoid possibility of sparking; that there no live electrical components and wiring are exposed while charging, recovering or purging the system; that there is continuity of earth bonding.

Repairs to sealed components. During repairs to sealed components, all electrical supplies shall be disconnected from the equipment being worked upon prior to any removal of sealed covers, etc. if it is

absolutely necessary to have an electrical supply to equipment during servicing, then a permanently operating form of leak detection shall be located at the most critical point to warn of a potentially hazardous situation. Particular attention shall be paid to the following to ensure that by working on electrical components, the casing is not altered in such a way that the level of protection is affected. This shall include damage to cables, excessive number of connections, terminals not made to original specification, damage to seals, incorrect fitting of glands, etc. Ensure that apparatus is mounted securely. Ensure that seals or sealing materials have not degraded such that they no longer serve the purpose of preventing the ingress of flammable atmospheres. replacement parts shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications.

Repair to intrinsically safe components. Do not apply any permanent inductive or capacitance loads to the circuit without ensuring that this will not exceed the permissible voltage and current permitted for the equipment in use. Intrinsically safe components are the only types that can be worked on while live in the presence of a flammable atmosphere. The test apparatus shall be at the correct rating. Replace components only with parts specified by the manufacturer. Other parts may result in the ignition of refrigerant in the atmosphere from a leak.

Cabling. Check that cabling will not be subject to wear, corrosion, excessive pressure, vibration, sharp edges or any other adverse environmental effects. The check shall also take into account the effects of aging or continual vibration from sources such as compressors or fans.

Detection of flammable refrigerants. Under no circumstances shall potential sources of ignition be used in the searching for or detection of refrigerant leaks. A halide torch (or any other detector using a naked flame) shall not be used.

Leak detection methods. The following leak detection methods are deemed acceptable for systems containing flammable refrigerants. Electronic leak detectors shall be used to detect flammable refrigerants, but the sensitivity may not be adequate, or may need recalibration. (detection equipment shall be calibrated in a refrigerant-free area). Ensure that the detector is not a potential source of ignition and is suitable for the refrigerant used. Leak detection equipment shall be set at a percentage of the if of the refrigerant and shall be calibrated to the refrigerant employed and the appropriate percentage of gas (25 % maximum) is confirmed. Leak detection fluids are suitable for use with most refrigerants but the use of detergents containing chlorine shall be avoided as the chlorine may react with the refrigerant and corrode the copper pipe-work. If a leak is suspected, all naked flames shall be removed/ extinguished. If a leakage of refrigerant is found which requires brazing, all of the refrigerant shall be recovered from the system, or isolated (by means of shut off valves) in a part of the system remote from the leak. Oxygen free nitrogen (ofn) shall then be purged through the system both before and during the brazing process.

Removal and evavuation. When breaking into the refrigerant circuit to make repairs or for any other purpose conventional procedures shall be used. However, it is important that best practice is followed since flammability is a consideration. The following procedure shall be adhered to:

Remove refrigerant;

Purge the circuit with inert gas;

Evacuate;

Purge again with inert gas;

Open the circuit by cutting or brazing.

The refrigerant charge shall be recovered into the correct recovery cylinders.

The system shall be flushed with OFN to render the unit safe.

This process may need to be repeated several times. Compressed air or oxygen shall not be used for this task.

Flushing shall be achieved by breaking the vacuum in the system with ofn and continuing to fill until the working pressure is achieved, then venting to atmosphere, and finally pulling down to a vacuum. T his process shall be repeated until no refrigerant is within the system. When the final OFN charge is used, the system shall be vented down to atmospheric pressure to enable work to take place. This operation is absolutely vital if brazing operations on the pipe-work are to take place. Ensure that the outlet for the vacuum pump is not close to any ignition sources and there is ventilation available.

Charging Procedures. In addition to conventional charging procedures, the following requirements shall be followed. Ensure that contamination of different refrigerants does not occur when using charging equipment. Hoses or lines shall be as short as possible to minimise the amount of refrigerant contained in them. Cylinders shall be kept upright. Ensure that the refrigeration system is earthed prior to charging the system with refrigerant. L abel the system when charging is complete (if not already). Extreme care shall be taken not to overfill the refrigeration system. Prior to recharging the system it shall be pressure tested with ofn. The system shall be leak tested on completion of charging but prior to commissioning. a follow up leak test shall be carried out prior to leaving the site.

Decommissioning. Before carrying out this procedure, it is essential that the technician is completely familiar with the equipment and all its detail. it is recommended good practice that all refrigerants are recovered safely. Prior to the task being carried out, an oil and refrigerant sample shall be taken in case analysis is required prior to re-use of reclaimed refrigerant. it is essential that electrical power is available before the task is commenced.

-Become familiar with the equipment and its operation. Isolate system electrically. Before attempting the procedure ensure that:

- Mechanical handling equipment is available, if required, for handling refrigerant cylinders;

All personal protective equipment is available and being used correctly.

- The recovery process is supervised at all times by a competent person;

- Recovery equipment and cylinders conform to the appropriate standards.

- Pump down refrigerant system, if possible.

- If a vacuum is not possible, make a manifold so that refrigerant can be removed from various parts of the system.

- Make sure that cylinder is situated on the scales before recovery takes place.

- Start the recovery machine and operate in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

-Do not overfill cylinders. (No more than 80 % volume liquid charge).

- Do not exceed the maximum working pressure of the cylinder, even temporarily.

- When the cylinders have been filled correctly and the process completed, make sure that the cylinders and the equipment are removed from site promptly and all isolation valves on the equipment are closed off.

- Recovered refrigerant shall not be charged into another refrigeration system unless it has been cleaned and checked.

1.1.19 Labelling. Equipment shall be labelled stating that it has been de-commissioned and emptied of refrigerant. The label shall be dated and signed. Ensure that there are labels on the equipment stating the equipment contains flammable refrigerant.

1.1.20 Recovery. When removing refrigerant from a system, either for servicing or decommissioning, it is recommended good practice that all refrigerants are removed safely.

When transferring refrigerant into cylinders, ensure that only appropriate refrigerant recovery cylinders are employed. Ensure that the correct number of cylinders for holding the total system charge is available. All cylinders to be used are designated for the recovered refrigerant and labelled for that refrigerant (i.e. special cylinders for the recovery of refrigerant). Cylinders shall be complete with pressure relief valve and associated shut-off valves in good working order. Empty recovery cylinders are evacuated and, if possible, cooled before recovery occurs. The recovery equipment shall be in good working order with a set of instructions concerning the equipment that is at hand and shall be suitable for the recovery of flammable refrigerants. In addition, a set of calibrated weighing scales shall be available and in good working order. Hoses shall be complete with leak-free disconnect couplings and in good condition. Before using the recovery machine, check that it is in satisfactory working order, has been properly maintained and that any associated electrical components are sealed to prevent ignition in the event of a refrigerant release. Consult manufacturer if in doubt. The recovered refrigerant shall be returned to the refrigerant supplier in the correct recovery cylinder, and the relevant Waste transfer note arranged. do not mix refrigerants in recovery units and especially not in cylinders. if compressors or compressor oils are to be removed, ensure that they have been evacuated to an acceptable level to make certain that flammable refrigerant does not remain within the lubricant. The evacuation process shall be carried out prior to returning the compressor to the suppliers. Only electric heating to the compressor body shall be employed to accelerate this process. When oil is drained from a system, it shall be carried out safely.

INSTALLATION

  • After removing the packaging, check that the appliance is intact; if in doubt, do not use it and contact a qualified professional. The packaging elements (plastic bags, polystyrene, metal tacks, etc.) must not be left in reach of children or irresponsible people, as they can be dangerous. They must be disposed of according to current regulations.
    All packaging elements must be disposed of according to their raw material (see the symbol stamped on each one) and according to the provisions of their municipality. The bag containing the set of the fixing screws or remote control, which is unmarked due to its small size, therefore you have to follow the procedures for the disposal of their municipality.
  • Before connecting the equipment, make certain that the plate information (voltage, etc.) correspond to the characteristics of the electricity distribution network. This appliance must be connected to a socket that has an effective earthing device (the manufacturer declines any liability that may arise from failure to comply with this rule). Check that no other appliances with a high energy consumption are connected to the power supply, to avoid overloading and the risk of fire. In general, the use of adapters, multiple sockets and/or extension leads is not recommended. If their use is unavoidable, they must comply with current safety regulations and their current capacity (amperes) must be no lower than the maximum current draw of the appliance.
  • The appliance must be installed by skilled staff with the necessary technical qualifications, who certify compliance with current installation standards.
  • No responsibility is accepted for failure to comply with this requirement, or in case of connection to a substandard electrical system. Incorrect installation may cause personal injury, harm to pets or damage to property, for which the manufacturer cannot be held responsible.
  • The appliance must be installed and/or placed in a room at least 11m^2 in area.
  • Do not use the appliance in:

- bathrooms, laundries, locations where there are flammable products (spray cans or cans containing gases, liquids or solids, or sulphur) or dusty locations, or close to heat sources.

- premises containing other machinery which emits large amounts of heat

- near to a source of brine or sulphurous water

- locations with high humidity and with open doors or windows

- The appliance must be placed vertical, with all wheels resting firmly on the floor, and also well away from heat sources, fabrics (curtains, drying laundry, etc.) or anything else which may come into contact with and/or obstruct the inlet and outlet grilles, and well away from tanks, sinks, or similar installations so that it cannot be splashed with or fall into water. DESCRIPTION

The appliance has the following control and adjustment devices and components:

Remote control

The appliance's functions are operated using the control panel keypad and the remote control, which must be pointed straight at the display from a distance of no more than 6 metres, fitting the batteries before use (open the hatch in the rear and fit two "AAA" batteries (not included), ensuring that the polarity is correct, then close the hatch). It is important to change all the batteries simultaneously. Do not mix new batteries with batteries that have already been used. If the remote control is unused for lengthy periods of time, remove the batteries. The batteries not must be replace from children.

Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.     • adjustable window adapter (91-124)cm, (19):

- Use the Adjustable (sliding) Kit to close the space left open by the windows. Composed of: 1 plate with a hole (B), and 2 sliding plates (A). To assemble the kit, proceed as described (see the pictures opposite); the plate with a hole: insert the screw with the "plate" head from the inside into the hole, insert the washer and wing nut from the outside (opposite). Insert a sliding plate so that the screw head fits into the central guide; after adjusting the plates to the most suitable size, then lock them by tightening the nut. If necessary, also assemble the other sliding plate at the opposite end as indicated above.

- Place the appliance as close as possible to a window or glass door, keeping it at least 50 cm from walls or other nearby obstacles. It is important to reduce exposure to direct sunlight using rolling shutters, curtains or Venetian blinds, and to keep doors and windows closed. The pipe can be adjusted from 40 cm up to a maximum of about 145cm; keep the pipe as short as possible, and do not curve the flexible pipe too tightly or create kinks in it. Do not use extension or replacement pipes, as this might cause a malfunction. The outlet must be unobstructed; otherwise, overheating may occur.

  • Fit the rectangular end of the extending pipe on the air outlet (7), and move it inward until it locks (you will hear a "click"); reverse the procedure to remove the pipe. Extend the flexible pipe as much as necessary to reach the outside fitting (window or glass door).
  • Fit the flexible pipe duct into the slot in the external plate so that the 4 pins "A" mate with their respective slots "B" in the plate, move it to the left and fix it, and secure it by tightening the screw on the inside. When

Modes

Cool/dry/fan: each pressure of the “Mode” button selects the modes and the LED of the selected function illuminates. During the switch between modes, the fan keeps operating but the compressor stops and will restart after about 3 minutes. This delayed start protects the compressor from potential damage. The extending pipe must always be connected to the appliance, except when it is used in dry mode; in this case, the appliance should be allowed to discharge straight into the room, for the maximum efficiency.

- Cool

The "Cool" light on the control panel comes on; select:

  • the temperature: 16^ C - 31^ C
  • the fan speed (low/hi)
  • Timer and Sleep function

If the On/Off button is pressed, the unit remains in stand-by and the appliance saves the temperature and speed; when it is switched back on, it will maintain the settings made earlier.

- Dry

When this function is set, the "Dry" light on the control panel illuminates; the fan speed is fixed at the minimum level and cannot be modified. The appliance does not cool the room when the dry function is activated. When this function is used, continuous drainage must always be provided to ensure the maximum drying efficiency. Make sure that the rubber plug of the bottom drainage hole (9) is positioned correctly. Undo the ring-nut of the continuous drainage hole by turning it anticlockwise, and remove the plug of the top drainage hole.

Connect the hose with internal diameter 10 mm and length 30 cm max. (supplied with some models) to the continuous drainage hole (14); make sure that the connection is watertight.

Check that the drain is at a lower level than the spout and that the hose is placed with a constant gradient, lower than the spout at all times. If continuous drainage is not being used, remove the drain hose and fit the plug with its nut.

- Fan

When this function is set, the "Fan" light on the control panel illuminates; the selected speed (low/hi) is changed at every press on the button.

DRAINAGE

In “Cool” mode, the appliance vaporises the condensate automatically. When the unit is operating in cool mode, make sure that the rubber plugs that seal the drainage holes (bottom & top) on the rear are fitted correctly.

When the appliance is operating in “Cool” mode, there is no need to connect the continuous condensate drainage; water will not build up inside the unit except in particular weather conditions with a very high humidity level.

When the container is full, the "Water full" light comes on to indicate this and the appliance cuts out.

To empty the container, switch off the appliance and remove the plug from the socket. Place the end of the drain over a container to collect the condensate, undo the nut, and remove the plug of the bottom drainage hole.

USE

- Do not leave the air-conditioner in operation for long periods with high humidity and open doors or windows. The humidity might condense, wetting or damaging furnishings.

- For optimal air-conditioning and efficiency, doors and windows must always be closed.

- In: Cool or Fan modes, check that the drainage plugs are fitted correctly.

- If continuous drainage is in use, make sure that the drainage hose is properly connected to the spout, that the opposite end is lower than the spout, and that the incline is even, so that the water flows internally without any obstructions.

- Caution: do not cover the appliance to avoid overheating.

Before each use, make sure that:

-the appliance is in good condition

-that the power cable and flexible pipe are not damaged

- Open the horizontal flaps manually in the desired direction.

- Connect the plug to the power socket; you will hear a beep.

- Turn on the appliance, press the "POWER" button and activate the functions required, proceeding as described above.

- Press the "POWER" button to deactivate the appliance: it switches to stand-by mode. To switch it off completely, the plug must be removed from the power socket.

Energy saving advice

• Always keep the filters clean, inspecting them regularly
- Keep doors and windows firmly closed except when the room needs airing
- Do not allow sunlight to shine straight into the room (use curtains, lower the roller blinds or close the shutters)
- Do not obstruct the appliance's air inlet and outlet grilles
During long periods of inactivity, remove the plug from the electric socket.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Warning: disconnect the plug from the power socket before routine cleaning; the appliance must remain vertical during cleaning.

- Air inlet filter

These should be cleaned regularly (at least about once a fortnight, or more often if the appliance is in continual operation every day).

Remove the grilles using the handles provided and extract the filters outwards.

Remove dust with a brush or vacuum cleaner, taking care not to damage any part. If the filter is very dirty, wash it in warm water and rinse it a few times. The water temperature must not exceed 40 °C.

After washing, leave it to dry fully before returning it to its proper seat. Never wash in the dishwasher.

Dry it thoroughly (do not use hot air) then fit it correctly back in place.

Main Unit

Wash only with a soft cloth dampened with water.

  • For long periods out of use, drain the water from the tank, wind up the power cable and fit the plug in its seat, and stow the appliance vertical, protected from dust and damp, adopting the precautions detailed in the safety warnings section. Always keep the appliance vertical.
  • If you decide not to use the appliance any more, it must be rendered unusable by cutting off the power supply cord (first making sure that the plug has been removed from the power socket), and any parts which are hazardous if used as children's playthings must be rendered harmless.
  • Do not attempt to replace or repair any components on your own. Contact the service company if needed.
