Frequently Asked Questions - IAN 295693 Livarno Lux

How do I assemble the solar light?
For models 10392A/B: Pull the solar cell housing with lampshade out of the lamp body, push the ground stake into the lamp body, stake into ground, set ON/OFF switch to 'ON', and reassemble. For 10392C/D: similar but twist the solar cell housing counter-clockwise to access switch.
How do I replace the rechargeable battery?
Remove the lampshade, access the solar cell housing, switch off, remove screws, open battery cover, replace with a new Ni-MH AA 600 mAh 1.2V battery, observing polarity. Reassemble and switch on.
Why doesn't the light turn on after a sunny day?
Possible causes: interference from other light sources (e.g., street lights) or insufficient battery charge. Relocate the light away from artificial light and ensure the solar cell gets direct sunlight.
How long does it take to fully charge the battery?
Charging time varies with sunlight intensity and angle. For best results, place the solar cell perpendicular to sunlight. The battery reaches full capacity after several charge/discharge cycles.
Can I use a different type of battery?
No, only use the recommended Ni-MH rechargeable battery (AA, 600 mAh, 1.2V). Other types may explode or cause fire.
The light only stays on for a short time. What can I do?
The battery may be old or there wasn’t enough daylight. Replace the battery (recommended every 12 months) or move the light to a sunnier location.
Is the product safe for children?
Children aged 8+ can use it under supervision. Rechargeable batteries pose choking and chemical burn hazards; keep out of reach of small children.
Can I replace the LEDs?
No, the LEDs are built-in and non-replaceable. The solar lamp is otherwise maintenance-free except for battery changes.
What does IP44 mean?
IP44 means the product is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and splashing water from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor use but not submersion.
How do I clean the solar light?
Clean the solar cell and housing with a dry, lint-free cloth. For heavy dirt, use a slightly damp cloth. Ensure the solar cell is free of snow and ice in winter.

Safety instructions for rechargeable batteries

WARNING! RISK OF AC- CIDENT AND DANGER TO LIFE FOR INFANTS AND CHIL-

DREN! Rechargeable batteries are not intended to be in the hands of children. Do not leave the batteries lying around. There is a danger that these will be swallowed by children or pets. If they are accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention.

Other rechargeable or single-use batteries could explode during charging.

FIRE HAZARD! Never short-circuit rechargeable batteries. Otherwise the rechargeable batteries may overheat, become a fire hazard or explode.

CAUTION! EXPLOSION HAZ-ARD! Never throw rechargeable batteries into fire or water.

- Expired or drained rechargeable batteries may leak chemicals which will damage the product. Remove, therefore, the rechargeable battery when the lamp is not required for any length of time.

WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES!

Livarno Lux IAN 295693 - WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! - 1

Leaked or damaged rechargeable batteries could cause chemical burns on contact with the skin; you should therefore wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs.

Only use rechargeable batteries of the correct size and the recommended type (see section "Technical data").

■ Ensure correct polarity, indicated in the battery compartment.

- Functionality

The solar cell built into the product converts sunlight into electricity and stores it in a Ni-MH rechargeable battery. The light switches on at dusk. The built-in LED is an energy-saving light bulb with a very long life. The light duration depends on the amount of sunlight, the angle at which light hits the solar panel, and the temperature (the battery capacity varies by temperature). A vertical angle of light at temperatures above the freezing point is ideal. The rechargeable battery will only achieve its maximum capacity after several charging and discharging cycles.

- Initial use

- Mounting the light

☐ Make sure it is firmly positioned. Do not use force when assembling or setting up the product, e.g. hammer blows. This will damage the product. In order to achieve the best result, set the solar garden lamp up in a place where the solar cell will get direct sunlight for as long as possible.
☐ Make sure the solar cell is not impacted by other light sources, e.g. yard or street lighting, or the light will not switch on at dusk.
☐ The light will automatically switch on in low light and switch off in normal daylight.

● Replacing the rechargeable battery

The batteries should be replaced every 12 months to ensure optimum performance.

10392A/B:

☐ Remove the lampshade 1 from the lamp body 3.
☐ Pull the solar cell housing ☐ out of the lampshade ☐ 1.
☐ Switch off the light using the ON/OFF switch 7 by setting the switch to the „OFF“ position.
☐ Remove the fastening screws 8 using a small cross-tip screwdriver. Then open the battery cover on the solar cell housing 2 using a flat-head screwdriver.

- Charging

Please note, the solar garden light must be switched on when the battery is charging. The charging time via the solar cell varies by the intensity of the sunlight and the incidence angle of light onto the solar cell. Place the solar cell as perpendicular as possible to incidence angle of light. This will ensure the brightest light.

● Maintenance and Cleaning

The LEDs cannot be replaced. The solar lamp is maintenance-free, except for any necessary change of battery.

☐ Routinely clean the solar light with a dry, lint-free cloth. Use a slightly moist cloth if very dirty.
