How do I clean the Zelmer ZFS0919 slicer?

Unplug the slicer. Remove the blade by turning the locking nut counterclockwise. Wash the blade, food carriage, and thickness plate in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher (top rack). Wipe the base with a damp cloth. Dry all parts before reassembling.

Can I slice frozen meat with this slicer?

It is not recommended to slice frozen meat; the blade may become damaged. For best results, thaw the meat partially (semi-frozen) to achieve clean slices.

How do I adjust the slice thickness?

Turn the slice thickness knob located on the side of the unit. The scale indicates thickness from 0 to 15 mm. Turn clockwise for thicker slices, counterclockwise for thinner.

Why does the slicer not start?

Ensure the power cord is plugged in and the on/off switch is in the 'I' position. Also check that the food carriage is fully pushed back and the blade guard is properly engaged; the safety lock may prevent operation if not.

Is the blade removable for sharpening?

Yes, the blade is removable. To remove, turn the locking nut counterclockwise and lift the blade. You can sharpen it with a suitable knife sharpener or replace it if needed.

What is the maximum food size?

The food carriage can accommodate items up to approximately 15 cm in height and 20 cm in length. Larger items may need to be pre-cut.

Can I slice cheese without it crumbling?

For soft cheese, chill it first. For hard cheese, room temperature works best. Use the thinnest setting for crumbly cheese to reduce breakage.

Does the slicer have a non-slip base?

Yes, the Zelmer ZFS0919 has four non-slip rubber feet to keep it stable during use.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.

From time to time check the cord for damages. Never used the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage.

Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.

Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never place it into the dishwasher.

Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.

If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.

All repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician.

Only use this slicer for cooking applications. Only cut articles such as cheese, meat, bread and preparations.

Never cut frozen food with this slicer.

Never cut food only by using your hands, always use the slide and its food guide unless it is impossible because of the size of the article. Make sure never to touch the knife.

This kind of appliance cannot function continuously; it is not a professional type of appliance. It is necessary to make temporary stops.

The blade of the appliance is extremely sharp, always be careful when cleaning the appliance.

It is absolutely necessary to keep this appliance clean at all times as it comes into direct contact with food.

Never touch the blade when the appliance is in use. Furthermore, never try to stop the movement of the blade in any way whatsoever.

Switch off the appliance and disconnect from supply before changing accessories or approaching parts that move in use.

This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.

Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of

experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.

This device is designed for use at a maximum altitude up to 2000m above sea level.

This appliance is not for professional use. You should follow the requested breaks. Failure to follow this instruction carefully may result in damage to the motor. Refer to the maximum continuous use time KB/MAX. 5 minutes, where 5 is the maximum usage time..

The breaks should last at least 5 minutes.

BEFORE USE

Unpack the device from the carton, remove all stickers, plastic bags, fillers and blockages transport. Note - the cutting disc also has a transport lock. Clean the device according to the instructions in the "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE" chapter.

USE

IMPORTANT: After 5 minutes of continuous use it needs to rest for 10 minutes. After 5 cycles, it needs to rest for half an hour.

Place the device on a flat and dry surface. The person operating the device should apply pressure buttons with your right hand and hold the presser with your left hand.

Use the slicing thickness adjustment knob (2) to set the required slicing thickness.

Connect the device to the mains.

Place the food to be cut on the mobile carriage (3) between the blade of the cutting disc (5) and the presser (4).

Slide the switch lock button (1A) towards the switch (1) and at the same time press the switch (1) - the slicer will start working. Releasing the pressure on the switch (1) will stop the slicer.

Move the slicer carriage (3) forwards and backwards, while pressing the food against the knife with the presser (4). Always use the presser when cutting small pieces of food.

After finishing work, disconnect the slicer from the power supply and then clean it.

ATTENTION! The cutting disc of the machine is sharp. Handle it carefully.

TIPS

To slice meats wafer thin, chill thoroughly for 2-4 hours in freezer before slicing. To prevent food from sticking to the slicer, moisten the cutting disc with a damp cloth - this will also make cutting food easier. When slicing warm boneless roasts, remove from oven and let set 15 to 20 minutes before slicing. Cold cuts keep longer and retain flavor if sliced as needed.

Foods with an uneven texture-like fish and thin steaks- are often difficult to slice. Partially freeze before slicing.

The appliance can also slice e.g. carrots or potatoes in thin slices for chips.

Fresh bread is difficult to cut. Remove cut slices of bread on a regular basis. Never cut warm bread.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

For convenience when cleaning the slicer, tilt the trolley (3) to the vertical position.

Before cleaning, be sure to disconnect the device from the power source.

Wipe the inside and outside surfaces with a paper towel or soft cloth.

Do not wash the device in the dishwasher.

Do not clean interior or exterior surfaces with scouring pads or steel wool as this may damage the finish. Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids.

The cutting disc (5) can be removed by turning the mounting knob (6) clockwise. Be careful: the knife is very sharp.

After cleaning the blade, turn the knob counterclockwise to lock the blade.

Dry all parts thoroughly before storing.
