Use

Plug the appliance in. Set the appropriate temperature for your hair type and how defined you want your curls to be by sliding the button to the desired setting – see the recommendations below. Make sure to always start in OFF mode.

170°C – thin, fine hair/coloured hair – lighter curls

190°C – normal hair – normal curls

210°C - very thick, resilient hair - defined curls

Place the curling tongs with the support facing downwards. The surface must be flat and tolerate heat. The indicator light flashes red until the selected temperature is reached. The light then remains lit.

Use styling product with heat protection before you start styling. Make sure your hair is completely dry before using the tongs. Open the lever on the curling tongs and place a section of hair securely inside. Distribute the hair evenly in the clasp.

Roll up the hair around the curling tongs by pressing one of the rotate buttons, depending on the direction of curl you want. Release the button once the hair is rolled up as far as you want. When the button is released, the time is calculated based on the length of the hair rolled up. When you hear 2 beeps, carefully unwind the hair and press the HOME button. The tongs roll back to the start position. Repeat the procedure on the rest of the hair.

To turn off the smartness function (beep) which signals that the tongs are ready, press the HOME button for 3 seconds until the indicator light turns green. To reactivate the smartness function (beep), press the HOME button again until the indicator light turns red.

To ensure the hair holds its curl, do not comb or brush the hair until it has cooled.

Make sure that the hot parts of the tongs do not come into contact with your scalp, face, neck or hands.

Do not use the tongs on wigs, extensions or artificial hair without testing them on a small section of hair first to discover if there is a risk of the hair melting.

Auto-off function

The tongs automatically turn off after around 40 minutes. The indicator light switches off. Please note that the tongs are not fully switched off until you push the power button to OFF. To activate the tongs again, push the power button to OFF and then select a temperature setting. The auto-off function is an extra safety feature, but in principle the power button must be pushed to OFF and the appliance unplugged after use.

Cleaning and maintenance

• Switch off the appliance by pushing the power switch to OFF. Then unplug the appliance and allow it to cool on a heat-resistant surface before cleaning. The tongs reach very high temperatures when in use, and therefore take a long time to cool down. Make sure that the appliance is out of the reach of children.
• The appliance and cord must not be immersed in water or other fluids.
• Wipe the exterior of the appliance and the plates with a damp cloth. Wipe with a dry cloth.
  • Make sure that water does not get into the casing!
• If the tongs become dirty due to styling products, wipe the surface with a slightly damp sponge or cloth. Then wipe with a dry cloth.
• Make sure that the tongs have cooled completely and are dry before putting them away.

- Keep the tongs in the case provided in a dry, safe place out of the reach of children.

Do not wrap the cord around the appliance, as this may cause abnormal strain, with a risk of the cord breaking.

Disposal of the appliance

OBH Nordica shall not be obliged to repair or replace any product which is not accompanied by a valid proof of purchase.

The defective product may be returned to the store of purchase.

This guarantee applies only for products purchased and used for domestic purposes and will not cover any damage which occurs as a result of misuse, negligence, failure to follow OBH Nordica instructions, or a modification or unauthorised repair of the product, faulty packaging by the owner or mishandling by any carrier. It also does not cover normal wear and tear, maintenance or replacement of consumable parts, or the following:

• using the wrong type of water or consumable
• mechanical damages, overloading
• damages or poor results specifically due to wrong voltage or frequency as stamped on the product ID or specification
• ingress of water, dust or insects into the product
• scaling (any de-scaling must be carried out according to the instructions for use)
• damage as a result of lightning or power surges
• damage to any glass or porcelain ware in the product
• accidents including fire, flood, etc
