How do I turn on and adjust the temperature of the SilverCrest SSHK 100 D3 heating cushion?

To turn on the heating cushion, turn the dial on the controller to a level from 1 to 6. The operation indicator lights up. To turn off, set to 0. Use level 6 for rapid heating (in 10 minutes), then lower to a comfortable level (level 1 is recommended for prolonged use).

Is the heating cushion machine washable?

Yes, the heating cushion can be machine washed. Use a delicate program at 30°C with a low-temperature detergent. Always disconnect the controller before washing by removing the plug connector. Do not wash more than 10 times to preserve service life. Do not tumble dry, do not iron, do not bleach.

What is the duration of the automatic shut-off?

The heating cushion automatically switches off after approx. 90 minutes. The operation indicator then flashes. To turn it on again, first set to 0, wait 5 seconds, then select a temperature level again.

Is the heating cushion safe for people with pacemakers?

The emitted electric and magnetic fields are below limits: electric field max. 5000 V/m, magnetic field max. 80 A/m, magnetic flux density max. 0.1 mT. However, consult your doctor and the pacemaker manufacturer before use.

Can I use this heating cushion for a child?

No, this heating cushion is not suitable for children aged 0 to 3 years. For children aged 3 to 8 years, use only under adult supervision with the controller preset. From 8 years, possible if the child has been instructed and is supervised. Do not use on persons insensitive to heat (diabetic persons, etc.).

What to do if the heating cushion no longer heats up?

First check that the controller is properly connected via the plug connector and that the mains socket is working. If the indicator does not light up, the safety system may have triggered a permanent shut-off in case of malfunction. In that case, do not reuse and contact customer service (080 53 400 06).

How to clean the controller?

Always disconnect the controller from the heating cushion and the socket. Clean it with a dry, lint-free cloth. Never immerse the controller in water or use abrasive detergents. For light soiling, a slightly damp cloth with a little dish soap may be used, then dry thoroughly.

What is the power and electrical consumption?

The heating cushion has a power consumption of 100 W at a voltage of 220-240 V at 50-60 Hz. It is protection class II (double insulation). Actual consumption depends on the temperature level used.

Does the heating cushion have a warranty?

Yes, a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase for material and manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover damage due to improper use, normal wear, or opening by an unauthorized workshop. Keep the proof of purchase to claim the warranty.

How to properly store the heating cushion?

First let the cushion cool down before folding. Do not place heavy objects on it to avoid creases. Disconnect the controller and store the cushion in its original packaging in a dry, unloaded place. Do not fold the controller with the cushion.

Please familiarise yourself with the heating pad before getting started and using it for the first time. To do so, please

carefully read the following operating instructions and the important safety information. Use the heating pad only as described and for the stated areas of use. Keep these instructions in a safe place. If you pass the heating pad on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation.

Intendeduse

This shoulder heating pad is intended for applying heat to the human body. It can be used to apply heat to the shoulders. This heating pad is not suitable for use in hospitals or for any other commercial use. In particular it must not be used for babies or infants, persons who are insensitive to heat, helpless persons, or animals. Any use other than that described above or modification of the heating pad are not permissible and may lead to injury and / or damage to the heating pad. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage arising out of improper use.

This heating pad may not be used by persons insensitive to heat and other persons in need of protection who do not respond to overheating (e.g. diabetics, persons with skin changes caused by illness or scarred skin areas in the application area after using analgesics or alcohol). There is a risk of receiving skin burns.

This heating pad may not be used by young children (3–8 years) unless the control unit was set by a parent or a supervising person and the child was adequately instructed on the safe use of the heating pad. There otherwise is a risk of burns.

This heating pad may be used by older children age 8 and up, and persons with diminished physical, sensory or mental capacities or lacking experience and knowledge when supervised and instructed on the safe use of the heating pad and understand the associated risks.

Children must be supervised to prevent them from playing with the heating pad. There is a risk of injury.

This heating pad is not intended for hospital or commercial use. This poses a risk of injuries and / or damage to the heating pad.

the permissible limits: electric field strength: max. 5000V/m, mag netic field strength: max. 80 A/m magnetic flux density: max. 0.1 milli-Tesla. Therefore please consult your physician and the manufacturer of your pacemaker before using this heating pad.

• Do not pull, twist or kink the cables. The heating pad may otherwise be damaged.
  ■ Frequently check the heating pad for wear or damage. If signs thereof are detected, the heating pad was used improperly or will no longer heat up, it must first be inspected by the manufacturer before being switched on again.
  If the power cord of the heating pad is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service department, or a similarly qualified person, to avoid hazards.
  ■ With the heating pad switched on, never

• place objects on it (e.g. suitcases or clothes baskets),

• place a heating source such as a hot-water bottle, heating pad or similar items on it. The heating pad may otherwise be damaged.

The electronic components inside the control unit will heat up whilst operating the heating pad. For this reason, the control unit must not be covered or be lying on the heating pad during operation. This poses a risk of injuries and / or damage to the heating pad.
■ Always observe the information on start-up, cleaning and care, and storage.

●Safetysystem

Note: The heating pad is equipped with a safety system. The electronic sensor technology prevents the entire surface of the heating pad from overheating by automatically switching off in the event of a fault. If the safety system switches the heating pad off automatically due to a fault, then the function display 2 on the control unit 1 is no longer illuminated, even if the heating pad is switched on.

☐ Please note that, for safety reasons, the heating pad must not be used after a fault and must be returned to the service address indicated.
☐ Under no circumstances should you connect the defective heating pad to another switch of the same type. This would also result in a permanent shutdown by the safety system in the switch.

Specialfeatures

This heating pad has been provided with an especially soft and hygienic velour fabric. The textiles used in this heating pad meet the strict human ecological requirements of Oeko-Tex Standard 100, as verified by the German Hohenstein Research Institute.

- Start-up

Note: The heating pad may smell of plastic the first time you use it, but this will disappear after a short period of time.

To begin, first connect the control to the heating pad with the plug-in connector 3 (see fig. B).
Place the heating pad in position as shown in Fig. C.
☐ Push the two ends of the heating pad together so the press stud 4 snaps into place.
Or use the two press studs for a tighter fit of the heating pad.
To place the heating pad down, undo the press stud 4 or the press studs 5.

- Switching on/off/Selecting the temperature

Switching on:

Set the control unit to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6, to switch on the heating pad.
Note: The function display 2 illuminates after the heating pad is switched on.
Note: This heating pad features rapid heating, which allows it to heat up within the first 10 minutes of operation.

Switching off:

Set the control unit to 0 to switch off the heating pad.
Note: The operating display 2 will switch off.

Selecting the temperature:

☐ Just before using the heating pad, set it to the highest temperature setting (setting 6). This will cause the heating pad to warm up quickly.
☐ When using the heating pad for several hours, set it to the lowest temperature setting (setting 1).

WARNING!

When operating the heating pad for several hours, we commend setting the control unit to the lowest setting to prevent over-heating and potential burns to the part of the body heat is applied to.

●Temperaturelevels

Set the required temperature level on the control 1 (see fig. A).

Level0:off

Level 1: minimum heat

Level 2-5: customised settings

Level 6: maximum heat

●Automaticswitch-off

Note: The heating pad switches itself off automatically after about 90 minutes. The function display 2 then starts to flash.

☐ Then select the setting 0 and after about 5 seconds, reset the heating pad to the desired temperature setting to switch it on again.

If the heating pad is no longer used after the timer expires:

• switch off the heating pad (Setting 0),
• unplug from the socket,
• disconnect the plug-in connection 3, i.e. the control unit 1, from the heating pad.

- Cleaning and care

DANG RACING!

LIFE BY ELECTRIC SHOCK! Always remove the mains plug from the socket

and the plug-in connector 3 with the control 1 from the heating pad (see fig. B) before cleaning the heating pad. Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock.

Use a dry, lint-free cloth for control unit cleaning and care.

RISK OF DAMAGE TO THE PRO-

DUCT OR PROPERTY! Never immerse the control 1 in water or other

liquids. It may otherwise be damaged.

If the heating pad is slightly soiled, use a dam- pened cloth and a little liquid mild detergent, if necessary.

RISK OF DAMAGE TO THE

PRODUCT OR PROPERTY! Do not use chemical cleaning or scouring agents to clean the heating pad and control 1. The heating pad and control unit 1 may otherwise be damaged.

For ecological reasons, please only wash the heating pad together with other textiles. Use a mild laundry detergent according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Please note that frequent washing will cause wear to the heating pad. It should therefore be washed no more than max. 10 times in a washing machine throughout its useful life.

RISK OF DAMAGE TO THE

PRODUCT OR PROPERTY! Please note that the heating pad may not

be dry cleaned, bleached, wrung out, dried mechanically, mangled or ironed. The heating pad may otherwise be damaged.

Do not use bleach. Do not use any cleaning agents containing bleach (such as heavy duty detergents).

Do not dry in a tumbler dryer.

Do no iron.

Do not dry clean.

■ Reshape the still damp heating pad to the original size immediately after washing, and dry flat, spread on a clothes drying rack.

not hang the heating pad up to dry with pegs or similar. The heating pad may otherwise be damaged.

Do not reconnect the control 1 to the heating pad until the plug-in connector 3 and the heating pad are completely dry. Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock.

Do not under any circumstances switch the heating pad on to help it dry. Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock.

Storage

RISK OF DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT OR PROPERTY! Let

the heating pad cool before putting it away. The heating pad may otherwise be damaged.

RISK OF DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT OR PROPERTY! To

prevent the heating pad from becoming sharply creased, do not store other objects on top of the heating pad. The heating pad may otherwise be damaged.

If you do not intend to use the heating pad for any length of time, store it in the original packaging in a dry environment and without weighing it down.

☐ Disconnect the plug-in connection 3 and the control unit 1 from the heating pad to do so.

●Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1–7: plastics / 20–22: paper and fibre-board / 80–98: composite materials.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.

To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority.

We provide a 3-year warranty covering faults in materials or manufacture of the heating pad from the purchase date.

The warranty does not cover:

• If the device has been opened by an unauthoried repair shop.

This warranty does not affect the customer's legal rights. The customer must provide proof of purchase in order for any warranty claims within the warranty period to be honoured. Warranty claims must be filed with MGG Elektro GmbH, Düsseldorf, Germany within 3 years from the date of purchase.
