Frequently Asked Questions - CCE117/1X CANDY

How to install the Candy CCE117/1X hood?
Installation must be carried out by a professional. Ensure the hood is firmly fixed to the wall at a minimum height of 65 cm above an electric hob or 75 cm for a gas hob. Connect the exhaust duct to the outside or install the recirculation kit with charcoal filter.
How to clean the grease filters?
The metal filters can be cleaned in the dishwasher at 65°C or by hand with warm soapy water. Let them dry completely before reinstalling. It is recommended to clean them every month.
When should the charcoal filter be replaced?
The active carbon filter must be replaced every 3 to 6 months depending on usage. It is not washable. A saturation indicator may light up on some models.
How to change the LED bulb?
Unplug the appliance. Open the lighting cover, unclip the defective bulb and replace it with a LED bulb of the same type (2 x 3 W, G4 base). Close the cover.
Is it normal for the hood to make noise?
A noise level of 55 to 65 dB is normal depending on the speed. If the noise is abnormal, check that the filters are clean and that the duct is not blocked. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
How to adjust the suction speed?
Use the push buttons on the front: press button 1 for low speed, 2 for medium, 3 for high, and the Intensive button for maximum temporary suction.
Can I use the hood in recirculation mode?
Yes, the hood works in recirculation mode with an active carbon filter (sold separately). In this case, the air is filtered then returned to the room.
How to access the motor for cleaning?
Unplug the appliance. Remove the grease filters, then unscrew the motor cover. Vacuum the dust with a soft brush attachment. Do not disassemble the motor yourself.
What to do if the hood does not turn on?
Check that the power outlet is live and that the fuse has not blown. If the issue is with the switch or wiring, call a technician.
Where to find spare parts or after-sales service?
You can order parts (filters, bulbs) from the official Candy website or from authorized retailers. Candy customer service is reachable by phone or email. Keep your proof of purchase for warranty.

MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning, switch the unit off and pull out the plug.

I. Regular Cleaning

Use a soft cloth moistened with hand-warm mildly soapy water or household cleaning detergent. Never use metal pads, chemicals, abrasive materials, or stiff brushes to clean the unit.

II. Monthly Cleaning for Grease Filter

ESSENTIAL: Clean the filter every month to prevent any risk of fire.

The filter collects grease, smoke, and dust, so the filter directly affects the efficiency of the cooker hood. If not cleaned, the grease residue (potentially flammable) will saturate the filter. Clean it with household cleaning detergent.

III. Annual Cleaning for Activated Carbon Filter

Apply SOLELY to units installed as a recirculation unit (not vented to the outside). This filter traps odors and must be replaced at least once a year

depending on how frequently the cooker hood is used.

IV. Changing a Light Bulb

Remove the screws on the glass, take off the hood glass. Find the bulb that requires replacement; you will find it located in the light fixture inside the exposed section of the canopy.

Pure electrical circuit lines without any symbols

Disconnect the light wiring point and remove the bulb holders and wiring from the hood. Important: It is not possible to replace the bulbs individually; it will be necessary to obtain the bulbs, bulb holders, and wiring as a complete part. (LED light: MAX 1.5W)

Fit the replacement bulbs, bulb holders, and wiring in the same manner as the originals. Then reconnect the light wiring point.

Refit the hood glass and fasten the glass screws. Make sure the screws are fully tightened.
