How to activate the image stabilizer (SR)?

Set the stabilization switch to ON. The photo shake reduction function moves the sensor to compensate for vibrations. Turn it off when the camera is on a tripod.

Which RAW formats are available?

The K20D records RAW in PEF (Pentax) or DNG (Adobe) format. You can also choose RAW+JPEG to record both simultaneously.

How to clean the CMOS sensor?

Use the vibration cleaning function in the menu. For stubborn dirt, use a blower. Professional cleaning is available for a fee at PENTAX.

Which lenses are compatible?

DA, D FA, FA J lenses and those with aperture position A (auto) are fully compatible. For others, set the 'Use aperture ring' option in the custom menu.

How to set white balance manually?

In the capture menu, select White Balance then 'Manual'. Take a photo of a neutral white or gray surface to store the value.

The battery drains quickly, what to do?

Check the battery status on the screen. If the indicator flashes, replace it. Avoid storing the battery fully charged. In low temperatures, keep a spare battery warm.

How to use the external flash?

Mount a compatible flash (e.g., AF360FGZ) on the hot shoe. Select the desired flash mode in the Fn menu. P-TTL, manual, and multi-flash modes are available.

Why does the screen remain black after power-on?

Check that the battery is charged and inserted correctly. If the battery compartment is open, the camera will not turn on. Also ensure that the SD memory card is inserted.

How to perform precise manual focus?

Set the AF switch to MF. Use the focus ring on the lens. The focus indicator in the viewfinder lights up when the subject is in focus.

Can I use the camera with an AC adapter?

Yes, use the optional AC adapter D-AC50. Connect it to the DC input after turning off the camera. It does not charge the internal battery.
