Frequently Asked Questions - CMD201 BLAUPUNKT

What type of coffee filter should I use?
You can use standard paper filters (size 1x2) or the included reusable filter. For paper filters, place them in the filter basket before adding coffee grounds.
How much coffee should I use per cup?
It is recommended to use approximately 7 g of coffee or tea per cup. Adjust to taste.
Can I use flavored or sweetened coffee powder?
No, do not use flavored or sweetened coffee powder as it may damage the appliance.
Why does my coffee taste weak?
Weak coffee can result from using too little coffee grounds, coarse grind, or not cleaning the machine regularly. Ensure you use the recommended 7 g per cup and descale every 4–8 weeks.
How do I clean the coffee maker?
Unplug and let cool. Wipe the body with a slightly damp cloth. Wash the carafe with warm water and mild detergent. Do not immerse the base in water or use a dishwasher for the carafe.
How often should I descale the machine?
Descaling should be carried out every 4–8 weeks depending on water hardness. Use a descaling solution, run a cycle, then rinse with three cycles of fresh water.
Can I remove the carafe during brewing?
Yes, but do not remove it for more than 20 seconds. The drip stop valve will close temporarily, but prolonged removal may cause overflow from the filter.
How does the keep-warm function work?
After brewing, the hotplate stays on for 40 minutes to keep the coffee warm. Press the switch to 0 to turn it off manually.
What should I do before first use?
Remove all packaging. Fill the water tank to max, run a cycle without coffee, then empty. Repeat once more. The machine is then ready for use.
What safety precautions should I take?
Always unplug before cleaning. Use only on an earthed outlet. Do not immerse in water. Keep away from children and pets. Do not operate with an empty water tank.
