Frequently Asked Questions - HCF-2000 WILFA

How do I clean the Wilfa HCF-2000 convection heater?
Always unplug the heater and let it cool completely. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and dry it off. Do not use detergents or abrasives, and avoid letting water enter the heater.
What is the maximum power output?
The maximum power output is 2000 W, achieved when both toggle switches are turned on.
Can I use the heater in a bathroom?
No, the heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry rooms, wet areas, or near water. It must be used indoors in dry locations.
What should I do if the heater overheats?
The heater has a built-in overheat protection that automatically switches it off. Once it cools down, it will restart automatically. If it repeatedly shuts off, check for obstructions and ensure proper clearance.
Does the HCF-2000 have a fan?
Yes, the HCF-2000W model includes a fan to accelerate heat convection for faster room heating. The fan can be turned on separately.
How does the thermostat work?
The mechanical thermostat allows you to set the desired room temperature. Turn it clockwise to increase temperature. When the room reaches the set temperature, the heating elements switch off and cycle on/off to maintain it.
How do I attach the feet?
The feet are included in the box. Attach them to the base of the heater using the provided tapping screws, ensuring they are correctly positioned on the base plate.
Can I use an extension cord?
It is recommended to avoid extension cords as they may overheat and cause a fire risk. If necessary, use a heavy-duty cord rated for the heater's current (8.7 A).
What is the difference between HC-2000W and HCF-2000W?
The HCF-2000W includes a fan for improved air circulation, while the HC-2000W does not. Both models have the same heating power and features otherwise.
Is it safe to leave the heater unattended?
Yes, but with caution. The heater has safety features like overheat protection and an earthed plug. However, always keep flammable materials at least 0.9 m away and do not cover the heater.

CLEANING THE CONVECTION HEATER

1 Always pull out the plug from the mains socket and allow the convection heater to cool before cleaning.
2 Clean the outside of the convection heater with a damp cloth. Dry off with a dry cloth.
3 Do not use any detergents or abrasives, and do not allow any water to enter the heater.
4 When the heater is not used for long periods of time, it should be protected against dust and stored in a clean, dry place.

OPERATION

NB:

It is normal for the convection heater to emit some odour when it is switched on for the first time, or when it has not been used for a long time. This odour will disappear when the heater has been on for a short time.

1 Choose a suitable location for the convection heater, taking into account the safety instructions above.
2 Insert the plug of the heater into a suitable socket.
3 Turn the thermostat button fully in a clockwise direction to the maximum setting.
4 Switch on the heating elements via the toggle switches on the side of the convection heater. When the heating elements are on, the switches will illuminate. When one switch is on, the heat output is 750 W; when the other switch is on, the heat output is 1250 W. For maximum heat output (2000 W), both switches should be on.
5 When the desired room temperature has been reached, the lights on the element switches will go out. After this, the convection heater will keep the temperature in the room at the set level by switching on and off automatically.
6 Minimum stilling (fully counter-clockwise): in this position (depending on the size of the room), the heater will maintain a temperature above freezing.
7 You may turn on the fan to accelerate the heat convection for faster room heating. This applies to the HCF-2000W model.
