Frequently Asked Questions - C2N-AMP-4X100 Crestron

How do I bridge the amplifier outputs?
For 8 Ω speakers, you can bridge outputs 1 and 2 or 3 and 4. Connect the left speaker's + and - to the two + terminals of output #1, and the right speaker's + and - to the two + terminals of output #2. Then use Room 1 to control volume for outputs 1&2, or Room 2 for outputs 3&4.
How do I change the Net ID?
Use Crestron Toolbox with indirect communication via a control system. Open System Info, select Cresnet ID connection type, choose the control system, and change the Net ID. The factory default is 33.
How do I adjust the volume for a room?
Press and hold the ROOM button for that room for 2 seconds to enter Volume Control mode. Then press ▼ or ▲ to adjust volume in 1 dB steps. Hold for more than 1 second to ramp. The amplifier exits automatically after 10 seconds of inactivity.
What are the power requirements?
The C2N-AMP-4X100 (US version) requires 120 V AC, 60 Hz. The international version (C2NI-AMP-4X100) requires 230 V AC, 50/60 Hz.
How do I select a source and assign it to a room?
Press the desired SOURCE button. Then press any ROOM button to connect that room to the selected source. The room LED lights up. To disconnect, press the ROOM button again.
Can I use the amplifier without a control system?
Yes, basic operation (power on/off, source selection, room assignment, volume control) is available via the front panel. However, programming and advanced features require Crestron Toolbox and a control system.
What is the maximum power output when bridged?
When bridged into 8 Ω speakers, each bridged pair provides up to 300 W. This applies to outputs 1&2 (Room 1) and outputs 3&4 (Room 2).
How do I clean the device?
Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquids or aerosols. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
What do I do if the volume LEDs blink three times?
This indicates that the maximum or minimum volume level has been reached. The amplifier will not exceed those limits.
Can I use different speakers with different impedance?
The amplifier is rated for 8 Ω speakers. Bridging is only supported for 8 Ω loads. Using lower impedance may cause overheating or damage. Always follow the specifications.
