Frequently Asked Questions - Connected smoke sensor SOMFY

How do I install the Connected smoke sensor?
First, insert the 9V and 3V batteries. Then, remove the mounting bracket by turning it anticlockwise. Fix the bracket to the ceiling or wall (30-60 cm from corners or ceiling). Finally, attach the sensor by turning it clockwise until it locks.
How do I test the alarm?
Press the test button on the cover. A single beep indicates the device is working. If no beep, check batteries or replace them.
What batteries are required?
The smoke detection and alarm require a 9V battery (type 6LR61, e.g., DURACELL MN1604). The interconnection and TaHoma system require a 3V CR123 battery (e.g., DURACELL ULTRA123).
How long do the batteries last?
The product has a lifetime of 5 years for the sensor and interconnection system. Battery life depends on usage; low battery alerts are sent via TaHoma if connected.
Can I interconnect multiple smoke detectors?
Yes, up to 50 Somfy Connected smoke sensors can interconnect automatically. When one detects smoke, all alarms sound simultaneously.
How do I connect the detector to TaHoma?
On the TaHoma interface, go to Configuration > Add device, then follow the on-screen instructions. The sensor must be added before mounting on the bracket for best results.
Where should I NOT place the smoke detector?
Avoid: outside, near heating/air conditioning, in dusty/dirty areas, bathrooms/kitchens (high humidity), direct sunlight, or places with rapid temperature changes.
What should I do if the alarm chirps intermittently?
A chirp may indicate a low battery or end-of-life. Replace both batteries first. If chirping persists after 30 seconds, reset the device by holding the test button until 6 beeps.
How do I reset the detector to factory settings?
Press and hold the test button until you hear 6 beeps. The sensor is now restored to factory configuration.
How do I clean the smoke detector?
Periodically dust the sensor using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner. Do not use water, solvents, or cleaners. Avoid spraying chemicals near the device.
