  • Clean the grill plates as described under "Cleaning and maintenance".
  • Grease the grill plates with a little cooking oil before use.
  • Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth.
  • Place the appliance on a flat, heat-resistant surface.

Use

  1. Plug the appliance into a wall socket. The red indicator light comes on.
  2. Turn the temperature control to the required setting 1-5. Some ingredients require a lower temperature and longer cooking time while others are best cooked at a high temperature for a shorter time. The results will also vary depending on your individual taste. Experiment to see which setting best suits what you are cooking and keep an eye on the results during the cooking process. See also the grilling table below.
  3. Once the appliance has finished heating up, the green indicator light will come on and the red indicator light will go out. The grill is now ready to use. NB! You may get a smell of smoke when the appliance heats up for the first time. This is perfectly normal.

NOTE! The indicator lights will go on and off during use. This indicates that the heating element is maintaining the optimum grill temperature.

Warning! The steam from the grill is very hot, particularly when you open the lid!

Place the ingredients on the grill plates and close the lid. Do not place too many ingredients on the grill plates at a time, as this will affect the grilling results and prolong the cooking time. Check the results after a few minutes.

If you want to grill thicker ingredients, raise the top grill plate by lifting the handle slightly and pulling the knob on the right side to setting 1-3.

Use an oven glove or pot holder when opening the lid. If you are not satisfied with the results, close the lid again and continue grilling.

Once you have finished grilling, lift the ingredients off the grill using a plastic utensil (heat resistant). Do not use metal utensils, as this will damage the non-stick coating on the grill plates. Unplug the appliance. Do not leave it plugged in when it is empty.

Do not cut into the ingredients when they are on the grill, as this may damage the coating.

• Always preheat the grill.

- Never submerge the grill or cord in water or other liquid.
- Scrape food residues off the plates using the cleaning scraper provided. Never use metal utensils.

- Make sure the grill is completely dry before putting it away.

When is the food ready?

Lightly-grilled meat - the meat "springs" back when you press it. It feels springy.

Medium-grilled meat - the meat is slow to "spring" back when you press it.

Well-grilled meat - meat is firm and does not "spring" back when you press it.

Chicken - pierce a hole in the meat with a fork. The meat juices should be completely free of blood once the chicken is ready.

NB! Remove the meat from the grill before cutting it into pieces to avoid scratching the coating.

Grilled fish - ready when the fish easily separates.

Marinating

Make a few incisions in the meat so that it can more easily absorb the marinade.

Always use a container (non-metal) or a plastic bag to mix the marinade with the raw ingredients.

Marinate the ingredients at least 1 hour before grilling.

The longer you marinate, the more tasty and tender the food will be. Fish requires a shorter marinating time than meat.
