1. Read the instruction manual carefully before use and save it for future use.
2. Plug the appliance to a household outlet of 100-240 Volt AC only and use the appliance only for the intended use.
3. Always unplug the appliance from the mains supply after use.
4. This appliance can be used by persons (including children from the age of 8) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience with/knowledge about the appliance, if they have been given supervision or instructions concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety and when they are aware of possible risks.
5. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Children are not always able to understand potential risks. Teach children a responsible handling of electrical appliances.
6. Cleaning and maintenance shall not be made by children under the age of 8 and they shall be supervised.
7. Position the appliance and the cord out of the reach of children under the age of 8.
8. Check that the cord is not hanging free from the edge of the table.
9. Do not place the appliance on or near hotplates, open fire or the like.
10. Do not touch the adapter with humid or wet hands.
11. WARNING! Keep the appliance dry.
12. The appliance should only be used under

supervision.

1. The appliance is not for outdoor use.
2. Only use the delivered adapter.
3. Store the adapter in a dry and frost free place.
4. Remove the batteries from the appliance before disposal of the appliance.
5. Unplug before you remove the batteries from the appliance.
6. In case of battery leakage, avoid any contact with your skin and dispose of the batteries according to current law.
7. Always check the appliance, the cord and the switch before use. If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid any hazard.
8. Extra protection can be obtained by installation of a residual current device of 30 mA. Check with your installer.
9. The appliance is for domestic use only.
10. If the appliance is used for other purposes than intended or not handled in accordance with the instruction manual, the full responsibility for any consequences will rest with the user. Any damages to the product as a consequence of the above are not covered by the warranty.

Before use

Check that the batteries are fully charged before use, if you want to use the hair clipper without a cord.

Charging

1. Make sure that the hair clipper is switched off during charging.
2. Connect the switch of the adapter to the outlet at the short end of the hair clipper.
3. Connect the adapter switch to the wall outlet. The charging of the battery starts and the green signal lamp goes on.

If the appliance is to be used without the adapter, at least 16 hours of charging of the appliance is necessary. When the appliance has been fully charged, you can run the appliance without the cord for about 45 minutes (depending on the type of hair). Subsequently, the batteries should be recharged for about 10 hours after each discharging. Do not charge the batteries until they are fully discharged, i.e. when you cannot switch on the hair clipper. This is in order to optimize the shelf life of the battery.

How to use the adapter

Connect the switch of the adapter to the net coupling of the hair cutter and plug the adapter to a wall outlet. Make sure that the appliance is disconnected when activated and wait a few seconds before you switch it on. If the appliance does not work right away, let it charge for about 1 minute.

Use

• Make sure that the appliance is clean, that the battery is fully recharged or connected to the adapter.
• The hair should be clean, well combed and dry (humid hair makes it more difficult to pass the comb through the hair).

Choose the distance comb that corresponds to the wanted length of the hair:

Short comb:

Step 1 = 2 mm

Step 2 = 5 mm

Step 3 = 8 mm

Step 4 = 11 mm

Step 5 = 14 mm

Step 6 = 17 mm

Step 7 = 20 mm

Long comb:

Step 1 = 23 mm
Step 2 = 26 mm
Step 3 = 29 mm
Step 4 = 32 mm
Step 5 = 35 mm
Step 6 = 38 mm
Step 7 = 41 mm

We recommend that you start with the longest comb the first time to prevent cutting off too much.

- Mount the comb onto the hair cutter by inserting the grooves of the comb into the rails on the hair clipper and press the comb downwards until it engages. At a later stage you can reposition the comb by pressing the adjustment button on the comb (see fig.) and at the same time press the comb upwards or downwards. The hair clipper can also be used without the distance comb if you want a shaved result (see further under “Use without distance comb”).

LIFT/WASH ON

- If you just want to thin the hair, push the button (2) on the thinning comb upwards. Now the thinning comb will be in front of the trimming head.

• Next, switch on the hair clipper by pushing the switch upwards. Hold the appliance with the trimming head upwards to have the flat side of the trimmer facing towards the head. Start at the neck and move the hair clipper in short, soft movements upwards and outwards. Work your way up to the top of the head and continue with the next section. Take your time and stop and check the result from time to time and comb the hair regularly to remove loose hair.
• If the hair clipper starts to work slower, check for hair sticking in the comb/trimmer head. Switch off the appliance and remove all hair before you start again. The problem may even be due to the fact that the battery needs charging, if the appliance no longer works. If the battery has not been sufficiently charged, the hair cutting could still be made by connecting the switch of the adapter to the net coupling of the hair clipper.
• For trimming around the ears and lower neck you might need to change to a shorter comb or remove the comb and use the trimming head only.

Use without distance comb

If you want a cropped result (1 mm), you can use the appliance without a distance comb and only use the trimming head. Remove the distance comb from the appliance by pressing the adjustment button of the comb and pushing the comb upwards (see fig.) Turn on the appliance by means of the switch. Hold the appliance with the trimming head upwards to have the flat side of the trimmer facing towards the head. Start at the neck and move the hair clipper upwards in soft movements and continue in this way all over the head. Be extra careful around the ears. Switch off the appliance by means of the on/off button after cutting.

Cutting by means of fingers/comb

• Use your fingers and/or comb to cut hair sections longer than 41 mm.
- Remove the distance comb from the appliance by pressing the adjustment button and push the comb upwards.
- Lift a hair section with an ordinary comb or hold it between your fingers to have excess hair stick up over your fingers.
- Cut the hair with the hair clipper. Continue in this way until the wanted length has been obtained.
• Comb regularly to remove loose hair and to check the result.

Cleaning and maintenance

Always switch off the clipper and disconnect it from the adapter before cleaning.

- Remove the distance comb from the appliance by pressing the adjustment button of the comb while pushing the comb upwards. The distance combs should be cleaned with water and a drop of mild detergent.

- You can rinse the clipping unit under running water for a quick cleaning. However, the temperature of the water should not exceed 70°C. Press the "Lift & Wash" button to release the clipping unit.

- Keep the hair clipper under running water to make the water run through the opening of the clipping unit. Please note that the hair clipper is not absolutely waterproof and should not be immersed in water or other liquids. Let the hair clipper dry before you press down the clipping unit again.

- In order to clean under the trimming head, remove the trimming head by pushing it backwards. Remove hair by brushing and press the trimming head again until it engages with a click.

• Do not use scratching detergents, alcohol or acetone for cleaning.
- Wipe the barrel of the hair clipper with a damp cloth and wipe dry.
• Never try to sharpen the cutting blades yourself.

Disposal of appliance and batteries

The hair clipper is equipped with one rechargeable AAA Ni-MH 1.2V battery pack. When it is no longer possible to recharge the battery or if it drains relatively quickly, remove the battery and dispose of the appliance. How to remove the battery pack:

- Remove the "Lift & Wash" button by means of a screwdriver or the like.

• Then loosen the barrel of the hair clipper.

- Unscrew the four screws under the barrel and cut off the contact plates from the battery. The hair clipper should under no circumstances be reconnected to the power source when open. Dispose of the batteries in accordance with the instructions in "Environmental considerations at disposal of batteries"

Environmental considerations at disposal of batteries

When changing batteries it is essential to take the environment into consideration. Used batteries must never be disposed of with domestic garbage, but should be returned to an authorized collection point. Batteries must be removed from the appliance before it is disposed of. Also take care that the batteries have not expired or have become worn-out, since there may be a risk that the batteries will leak. Check the validity date on the batteries. Remember to remove the batteries before they get too old.

Disposal of the appliance

Legislation requires that all electrical and electronic equipment shall be collected for reuse and recycling. Electrical and electronic equipment marked with the symbol indicating separate collection of such equipment must be returned to a municipal waste collection point.

Complaint

Warranty according to current law. Any claim shall be accompanied by the cash receipt with purchase date. When raising a claim the appliance must be returned to the store of purchase.
