Frequently Asked Questions - ICE-125 WILFA

How do I start making ice for the first time?
Unpack the ice maker and place it on a level surface. Remove the ice basket and fill the water tank with fresh water (max 2.2 L). Replace the basket, plug in the unit, and press the power button. Select ice cube size if desired. The first batch may take 6-8 minutes, and the first few batches might be smaller or irregular.
Why is the ice maker not producing ice?
Check that the water tank is filled above the minimum level and that the unit is plugged in and turned on. Ensure the ambient temperature is between 10-32°C. If the 'Add Water' light is on, refill. Also, clean the condenser filter if dusty.
How often should I clean the ice maker?
We recommend cleaning the interior and water tank every 1-2 weeks with a mild soap solution. Descale every 1-2 months using a citric acid or vinegar solution to remove mineral buildup. Follow the self-cleaning cycle if available.
What size ice cubes does the ICE-125 produce?
You can select between small (bullet-shaped) and large ice cubes. The default is small. Press the size button during operation to toggle.
Can I leave the ice maker on overnight?
Yes, the unit has an auto shut-off when the ice basket is full. However, the ice will eventually melt and refreeze, so it's safe but not energy-efficient. For best results, empty the basket regularly.
How long does it take to make ice?
The first batch typically takes 6-10 minutes. Subsequent batches may be faster. The actual time depends on water temperature and room temperature.
What does the 'Self-Cleaning' function do?
The self-cleaning function circulates water through the system to flush out impurities. Add a mixture of water and cleaning solution (e.g., vinegar) to the tank, then activate self-clean. After the cycle, drain and rinse.
How do I store the ice maker when not in use?
Empty the water tank and ice basket completely. Dry all interior surfaces with a soft cloth. Leave the lid open to air out. Store in a cool, dry place.
What should I do if the ice cubes are too small or hollow?
This often indicates low water level or a dirty condenser. Check water level, clean the condenser filter, and consider descaling the unit. Also, ensure the room temperature is not too high.
Where can I get spare parts or service?
Contact Wilfa customer support or visit their official website. Spare parts like the ice basket or water tank are available. For repairs, an authorized service center is recommended.
