Frequently Asked Questions - 646181 Melissa

Why won't the appliance start?
The appliance has a safety switch that prevents operation unless all parts are correctly assembled. Ensure the mixing bowl, blender jug, or grinder is locked into place with the lid securely fitted. Check that the locking pin on the lid is engaged.
How long can I run the food processor continuously?
Do not run the appliance for more than 3 minutes at a time. Allow it to rest for at least 1 minute before turning it on again to prevent overheating.
Can I blend hot liquids?
No, never pour boiling liquid or very hot food into the blender jug or mixing bowl. Hot contents can cause pressure buildup, making the lid pop off and splashing. Allow food to cool sufficiently first.
Can I wash the accessories in the dishwasher?
Yes, the blender jug, mixing bowl, grinder, and other accessories are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, wash them by hand with warm water and washing-up liquid. Always dry completely before use.
How do I clean the motor base?
Wipe the motor section with a damp cloth and a little detergent if needed. Never immerse the motor base, cord, or plug in water, and avoid letting any water enter the motor section.
What is the maximum capacity for blending?
The blender jug has a maximum capacity of 1.5 litres. Do not fill above the marked line. For the mixing bowl, the maximum is 1000 ml.
Can I crush ice in the blender?
Yes, but always add some liquid to the blender jug when crushing ice cubes. Do not operate the blender with only ice, as this may damage the blades.
How do I change the blade?
Always unplug the appliance before changing blades. Remove the blade attachment by lifting it off the attachment holder. Be careful as the blades are very sharp. Avoid touching them directly.
Is the grinder suitable for coffee beans?
Yes, the grinder is intended for grinding coffee beans and chopping nuts. Do not overfill the grinder, and ensure the silicone ring is fitted in the blade unit before use.
Where can I find spare parts or accessories?
