Before the personal scale is taken into use for the first time, please read this instruction manual thoroughly and keep it for future use.

Please note that all electronic equipment are sensitive, including electronic scales. This means that various conditions may influence weighing, e.g. temperature swings and moving the around. Inaccuracies may occur if the scale is cold. The scale consequently functions most accurately at normal room temperature. It is important that the scale is allowed to ‘acclimatize’ for 24 hours before it is used for the first time. Electronic noise from other units such as mobile phones, small transmitters, and certain microwave ovens may influence weighing.

Important

Remove the plastic strip from the battery compartment underneath the scale. Set the scale for kg, stones (st/lb) or pound (lb) or stones (st) by pressing the round button located underneath the scale marked UNIT, until the display shows requested unit.

Press firmly on the scale platform, the display will show a running zeros pattern and automatically turn off. The scale is now activated and ready to use.

The scale must be set before it is used for the first time, or if it has been moved. If the scale is not set according to the instructions above, weighing errors will almost definitely occur.

The scale has a maximum tolerance of approximately 1%, i.e. if a person weighs 70 kg the displayed weight may fall between 60.3 and 70.7. E.g. if you weigh 70.75 kg, the scale will read either 70.7 or 70.8 kg (with 1% tolerance).

Directions before weighing

It is important to stand completely still during weighing as even the slightest body movements may cause considerable deviations from the actual weight. Also keep in mind that the scale is influenced by the clothes you wear, if you wear shoes, if you have just finished a meal, etc. If you wish to keep an eye on your weight over a longer period of time, weighing should be performed under comparable conditions every day, preferably without clothes and without moving the scale around between weighings.

How to use the scale - important

1. Press the SET button under the display to select user number. The user number flicker in the display. Press one of the arrows next to the SET button to select number (1-4). Press SET to confirm.
2. Press the arrows to set your length. If you want to change length unit (cm or ft), press the UNIT button underneath the scale. Confirm your length by pressing SET. Your adjustment is stored and the scale is ready to use.

3. Place the scale on a plain, firm surface. Press SET to start the scale and to select the user number you have chosen. Wait until the display shows "0.0".

4. Step onto the scale (stand with your feet in the same place each time). Your weight should be equally distributed between both feet and with equal weight on the heel and the front of the foot. Remember to stand completely still! The weight and BMI will appear in the display.

5. The scale always switches off automatically approximately 10 seconds after weighing, ensuring a long battery lifetime.
6. If you only want to know your weight you wait until the display turns off before you step on to the scale. The weight can then be read from the display.

If the scale is overloaded (150 kg maximum), "----" will appear in the display. Immediately step of the scale to protect the loading cells.

BMI

Body Mass Index (BMI) states the relation between weight and length according to the calculation body weight (m) i kilogram divided by the square of the body length (l) in meter.

BMI = body weight (kg) / body length (m) ²

I.e a person that weighs 75 kg and has a length of 1,80 m has a BMI of:

75 / 1,80 ² = 23

Changing of batteries

When it is time to change the batteries, "Lo" will be displayed. Insert he batteries (2 x CR2032) in the battery compartment by first removing the cover at the bottom of the weight and mount the batteries. Make sure to position the batteries correctly. Remount the cover.

Cleaning and maintenance

The scale may not be immersed in water or placed near strong heat sources. The surface can be wiped clean using a cloth moistened with water and a mild detergent. Wipe dry with a soft dry cloth or paper towel. Never use strong, abrasive cleaners which may scratch the scale.

1. Read the instruction manual carefully before use, and save it for future use.
2. The appliance must not be immersed into water or other liquids. Should it get wet, it must be wiped off immediately, as liquids contain minerals which may result in rust in the electronic parts or which may totally destroy the electronic parts.

3. If the appliance gets dirty, the dirt can be wiped off with a slightly humid cloth, and then wiped with a dry cloth.

4. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

5. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Children are not always able to understand potential risks. Teach children a responsible handling of electrical appliances.
6. The appliance must not be used if it has been dropped on the floor, or if it is clear that the appliance is damaged. In such cases the appliance should be handed in for repair at the distributor where it was bought.
7. Use only new batteries of the correct size. Used batteries should always be removed, as they may leak chemicals which may damage the circuitry of the appliance.
8. The appliance is for domestic use only.
9. If the appliance is used for other purposes than intended, or is it not handled in accordance with the instruction manual, the full responsibility for any consequences will rest with the user. Any damages to the product or other things are not covered by the warranty.

Environmental considerations and disposal of batteries

When disposing of batteries it is essential to take the environment into consideration. Used batteries must never be disposed of with domestic garbage. Used batteries must be returned to one of the authorized collection points. Batteries must be removed from the appliance before it is disposed of. Also take care that the batteries are not expired or become worn-out since there may then be a risk that the batteries will leak acid. Check the validity date printed on the batteries.

Disposal of the appliance

Legislation requires that all electrical and electronic equipment must be collected for reuse and recycling. Electrical and electronic equipment marked with the symbol indicating separate collection of such equipment must be returned to a municipal waste collection point.
