Read the operating instructions carefully before use!
Save them for future reference.
BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Never allow children, or anyone who is unfamiliar with the machine and these instructions, to use it. There may be local regulations for the minimum age of persons allowed to use the machine.
- Do not use the machine when other persons, especially children, or pets are in the vicinity.
- The user is responsible for any accidents or risks to other persons or property.
PREPARATIONS
- Always wear heavy-duty shoes and long trousers when using the machine. Do not use the machine if you are barefoot or wearing open shoes.
- Carefully inspect the area where the machine is to be used and remove any objects that can be thrown out.
- Always check the machine before use to make sure that the blades, blade screws and cutting unit are not worn or damaged. Always replace the complete blade set and screws if they are worn or damaged to avoid imbalance.
- Make sure there are no animals in the area to be mown.
USE
- Only use the machine in daylight, or in good artificial lighting.
- Make sure you always have a good footing on sloping ground.
- Mow carefully. Never run with the machine.
- Be very careful when changing direction on slopes.
- Do not mow steep slopes.
- Be very careful when going backwards or pulling the machine towards you.
- Stop the blades if the lawn mower has to be tilted when moving it over an ungrassed surface, or when moving to and from the area to be mowed.
- Never use the machine if the guards or covers are dismantled or damaged. Never run the machine without the safety devices fitted.
- Keep your hands and feet away from moving parts – risk of serious personal injury and/or death.
MAINTENANCE
- Make sure that all the screw connections are properly tightened to keep the tool in safe condition.
- Replace damaged or worn parts.
- WARNING: Exercise careful not to get your fingers caught between the blades and fixed parts of the machine - risk of serious injury.
- WARNING: Do not touch the blade reel until it has stopped completely.
WORK AREA
- Keep the work area clean and well lit. Dark and cluttered work areas increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Keep children and onlookers at a safe distance when using the machine. You can easily lose control of the machine if you are distracted.
PERSONAL SAFETY
- Stay alert. Observe care at all times and use your common sense when working with the machine. Never use the machine when you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention when using the machine can result in serious personal injury.
- Use personal safety equipment. Always wear safety glasses and non-slip safety shoes.
- Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. This will enable you to have better control over the machine in unexpected situations.
- Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose-fitting clothing, jewellery and long hair can get caught in moving parts.
USE AND CARE
- Do not force the machine. Use the correct machine for the planned work. The machine will work better and more safely at the load for which it is intended.
- Do not use the machine if any parts are missing or damaged. If the machine is damaged, it must be repaired before using it again.
-
Store the machine out of the reach of children when not in use. Never allow children, or anyone who is unfamiliar with the machine and these instructions, to use it. This type of machine is dangerous if used by inexperienced people.
-
Maintain the machine. Check that moving parts are properly adjusted and do not jam, and that no parts are incorrectly fitted or damaged. Check for other factors that could affect functionality. If the machine is damaged, it must be repaired before using it again. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained machines.
- Keep blades clean and sharp. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
