Frequently Asked Questions - IM 11611-90 X GRAM

How do I set the clock on my Gram microwave?
Press the CLOCK button, then turn the MENU/TIME knob to set the hour. Press CLOCK again, then set the minutes with the knob, and press CLOCK to confirm. The clock uses a 24-hour format.
What cookware is safe to use in the microwave?
Use heat-resistant glass, ceramics, microwave-safe plastic, and kitchen paper. Avoid metal containers, aluminum foil (except small pieces for shielding, at least 2.5 cm from walls), and sealed containers. Always check by placing a cup of water next to the test dish and heating for 1 minute – if the dish gets hot, it’s not safe.
How do I activate the child lock?
Press and hold the PAUSE/CANCEL button for 3 seconds. A beep sounds and a lock indicator appears on the display. To deactivate, press and hold the same button for 3 seconds until the indicator turns off.
Why does my microwave not start?
Check if the power cord is plugged in properly. If the fuse is blown or the circuit breaker tripped, replace the fuse or reset the breaker (contact Gram service for repairs). Also ensure the door is fully closed. If the problem persists, test the outlet with another appliance.
How do I defrost food automatically?
Press the WEIGHT DEFROST button, then use WEIGHT ADJUST to select the weight (100–1800 g). Press START/QUICK START. The oven will pause during defrosting to allow you to turn the food over for even thawing; press START/QUICK START to resume.
Can I use the grill and microwave together?
Yes, use the COMBI button to select combination cooking. The oven alternates between microwave and grill power. You can set cooking time up to 95 minutes. The grill rack should be placed on the turntable when using grill or combi modes.
How do I clean the interior of the microwave?
After unplugging, wipe the inside with a damp cloth. For stubborn odors, place half a lemon in a bowl with 300 ml of water and microwave at 100% power for 10 minutes, then wipe dry. Clean the door seal and frame gently with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scrubbers on the glass door.
What is the preset function and how do I use it?
The PRESET function lets you schedule a cooking program to start later. First, set your desired cooking program (power and time). Then press PRESET and set the start time using the MENU/TIME knob. Press START/QUICK START to confirm. The oven will automatically begin cooking at the preset time.
Why is there condensation on the door and steam coming out?
This is normal. During cooking, steam escapes through vents, but some may condense on cooler surfaces like the door. Wipe it off after use. Ensure the oven is not placed in a cabinet without proper ventilation, as blocking vents can damage the appliance.
What should I do if the turntable makes noise?
The noise is often due to dirt on the rotating ring or the oven floor. Clean the turntable, rotating trolley, and the bottom of the oven with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Ensure the turntable is correctly positioned on the trolley. If noise persists, contact Gram service.
