What type of fuel does the DCG GH05 heater use?

The heater uses liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) – butane or propane at pressures of 28-30 mbar or 37 mbar respectively.

How do I light the gas heater?

First turn on the gas regulator. Press and turn the control knob to position 1, hold for 10 seconds. While holding, press the piezo ignition button until the pilot lights. Continue holding the knob for 10-15 seconds, then release. If it goes out, repeat.

What safety features does the GH05 have?

It includes an Oxygen Depletion System (ODS) that shuts off gas if oxygen drops, overheat protection, a non-self-resetting thermal cut-out for electrical faults, and an anti-tilt switch for the fan heater.

Can I use the heater in a bedroom or bathroom?

No, the manual explicitly states not to use in basements, bathrooms, or bedrooms. Only use in well-ventilated living areas or other rooms with adequate ventilation.

How often should I replace the gas hose?

The hose should be replaced within 1 year from the date of manufacture or according to national regulations. Worn or damaged hoses must be replaced immediately.

What room size is required for safe use?

For one radiant, the room should be at least 15 m³ (living room) or 28 m³ (other rooms) with 105 cm² ventilation. For two radiants, 28 m³ or 58 m³; for three, 42 m³ or 84 m³.

How should I clean the heater?

Use a damp soapy cloth (wrung out) to clean the exterior and cylinder storage area. Do not get water on burners or pilot. Wipe dry before use. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

What should I do if I smell gas?

Do not disconnect the regulator. Turn off the gas supply at the bottle or regulator. Take the appliance outdoors in a flame-free atmosphere. Check connections with soapy water – bubbles indicate a leak. If leak found, turn off gas and do not use until checked by a competent person.

Can I use the fan without the gas heater?

Yes, the fan can be used independently for cold breeze. Press the turbo fan button without the heating element button.

How to store the heater when not in use?

Disconnect and remove the cylinder. Store cylinders in a well-ventilated area away from combustibles, preferably outdoors. Keep the heater in a dry, dust-free area, ideally in its original packaging.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

1. Always use Heater in accordance with instructions supplied with each heater. Keep instructions in a safe place.

1. DO NOT position heater close to walls, furniture, net curtains, bed linen or any flammable materials as this could result in a risk of fire. The following minimum distances should be respected: 50 cm from the sides and 100cm from the front. ALWAYS face the heater towards the centre of the room. The heater should be positioned on a level surface at all times.

1. If a leak is suspected. DO NOT disconnect the regulator. Turn off the gas supply at the gas bottle or gas regulator. Take the appliance outdoors in a flame free atmosphere. Turn on the gas supply and Check all the connections. Slowly brush the connections with soapy water, or a leak detection spray a gas leak will form bubbles. If a leak is found turn the gas off. DO NOT use the heater again until it has been checked by a competent person in accordance with the Gas Safety(installations and use) Regulations 1998

Note: Minimum distance from mobile heater to the ceiling at least 1000mm.

USING ENVIRONMENT

Your heater consumes oxygen while it is in use. For this reason, adequate ventilation should be provided in rooms in which the heater is used. This ensures the removal of products of combustion and allows the entry of replacement air.

Adequate ventilation should considerably reduce condensation occurring. The following table shows the smallest sizes of room suitable for each heat setting and the ventilation, which should be provided.

1. This appliance requires a hose and a regulator.
2. Only use in well ventilated areas.

5. This appliance should be tested for leaks before initial use and whenever the cylinder is re-connected.
6. It is important that all gas connections have been correctly made to prevent any leakage. Do not use a naked flame to test for leaks. Use soapy water or a leak detection spray.
7. Always use your cylinder in an upright position.
8. Always turn off the appliance at the regulator when not in use.
9. When lighting your heater for the first time or after a period of time has passed since the last use, light the heater outside and burn outdoors for 15 minutes.
10. Do not use your heater while sleeping.
11. Do not use your heater in high-rise flats.
12. Do not use your heater in basements, bathrooms or bedrooms.
13. This appliance requires a hose and a regulator, check with your gas supplier for the correct type according to the cylinder being used and any regulations at that time.
14. The guard on the appliance is to prevent risk of fire or injury from burns and no part of it should be permanently removed. It does not give full protection for young children or the infirm. We would recommend a fireguard to BS 8423 be fitted.

Use only regulator and hose approved for LP Gas at the correct pressures.

The pressure adjuster should comply with the standard EN12864 and current regulations in the country where it is installed, which may be found at your nearest retailer of gas items, Refer to the technical date. It is strictly prohibited to use adjustable pressure.

The life expectancy of the regulator is estimated as 10 years. It is recommended that the regulator is changed within 10 year of the date of manufacture or the national conditions require it.

The type of replaceable hose should meet the standard of EN1763-1 Class 3.

The hose used must conform to the relevant standard for the country of use. The length of the hose must be 0.5m (maximum). Worn or damaged hose must be replaced. Ensure that the hose is not obstructed, kinked, or in contact with any part of the appliance other than at its connection. It is recommended that the hose is changed within 1 year of the date of manufacture or the national conditions require it.

Warning

Perform a leak test on all connections every time you reconnect the cylinder, or if the heater has not used for a significant period.

Don't twist the flexible tube or the hose.

FAULT FINDLING CHART:

CONNECTING THE CYLINDER

1. Place the gas filled cylinder into the back of the heater.
2. Clip on the gas regulator to the gas cylinder, connect the regulator to flexible tubing and the valve.
3. Turn the cylinder and the regulator on.

4. Where the regulator is not supplied or is missing please contact your gas dealer to advise of the correct type for the gas cylinder being used.

5. IMPORTANT TEST FOR LEAKS:

This must be carried out in a well ventilated area, free from naked flames

and any other sources of ignition. With the regulator connected to the cylinder turn on the regulator control. Brush all hose connections, pipe connections to the valve and gas cylinder with a 50;50 solution of detergent and water or a leak detection spray. A stream of bubbles forming indicates a leak. If a leak is found turn off at the regulator and disconnect the regulator from the bottle and remove the gas cylinder outdoors or to a well ventilated area. Contact your gas supplier for assistance. DO NOT USE THE HEATER..

Fix the rear cover after leakage test.

HOW TO CHANGE A CYLINDER

1. Turn off at the regulator and allow the heater to cool fully before removing and replacing the cylinder. Do not attempt to replace the cylinder whilst the heater is still in use.
2. Cylinders must be replaced in a flame free environment.
3. Do not smoke while changing the cylinder
4. When you need to replace your empty cylinder, turn the gas off at the valve or regulator and take the empty cylinder out of the heater.
5. Remove the regulator from the empty cylinder.
6. Follow the steps described under "Connecting the Cylinder", connect a new cylinder.

FUNCTION INTRODUCE:

1. Gas and Electric Function
   This product's design keeps warm from gas burnr and electric used.

2. Multiple protection function

*Oxygen Depletion protection function (ODS): This product equip with ODS, once appearing the circumstance of oxygen shortage, this ODS device will cut off the Gas Supply for protection.

*Over-Heat protection function: This electric heater equip with Thermostat, if the product is not used correctly to make the

temperature risen high, The heating element will stop working remaining the motor fan. You should take out the power cord until the temperature is down to normal, then you could connect the power code to turn on it, the Heating element will recover a normal work.

*Non-self-resetting thermal cut-out protection function: This product equip with Non-self-resetting thermal cut-out device. Once appearing accident, like short circuit, the function will permanently cut off the power, preventing from the occurrence of trouble.

*Regulating the thermostat for fan heater: You could regulate the room temperature by the thermostat. The thermostat is designed to control the room temperature roughly from 0-32 degree.

*Anti-dumping function for fan heater: When the heater fall down during the fan heater working, the anti-tilt switch will be activated to turn off the heating element.

OPERATION GUIDE

LIGHTING INSTRUCTION

The heater is designed to be used gas and electric together.

a. The gas heater has three settings. Lighting and Minimum(Pos.1); Medium (Pos.2) and Maximum(Pos.3).
b. The electric heater has two function: cold breeze and heating element.

1. GAS KNOB CONTROL LIGHTI
   

Turn on the gas by turning the gas regulator to the on position.

The heater can be regulated to three different heat intensities Pos.1, Pos.2, Pos.3.

• Press down and turn the control knob to and hold for 10 seconds.
• Whilst still pressing down the control knob press the ignition button until the pilot light (at the bottom of the burner) ignites. Continue

to hold the control knob down for 10-15 seconds more. Release the button if the pilot flame goes out repeat the above operation

HEAT SETTINGS

To change from minimum to maximum gently press control button and turn it position 3.

To change from maximum to medium gently press control button and turn it position 2.

Turn off heater at cylinder or turn the switch on the regulator to the "OFF" position. If the heater is not be used for a period of time disconnect the regulator from the cylinder and replace any value protection plug or cover

Attention!

Please do not forcefully turn the control knob, the button should be pushed down before changing the heat control settings. The control button will not turn without pushing downwards. Ensure the button is locked into the heat setting /position required.

2. HEATING FAN OPERATION:

Important: The fan heater could start to work after the thermostat turn on.

1) Control knob of thermostat

To use the fan heater, you should regulate the temperature by the thermostat first. Turn the thermostat knob clockwise, once you hear a "Click", that means the thermostat start to work. You could set up the temperature from 0-32 degree roughly, then to turn on the fan heater. To turn off the fan heater, you could turn the thermostat knob anti-clockwise until you hear a "Click" or by the button of the fan heater.

2) The electric combination switches operation method

a. Breeze machine switch

Press on the button for turbo fan only, the turbo fan will work and can blow cold breeze.

b. Heating element switch

Turn on the turbo fan first, then press on the button for heating element. The heating element will begin to work, at the same time, the turbo fan blows hot breeze. If the the turbo fan does not work, heating element can not work. There are two buttons for heating element, press one button is 750 Watts. Two buttons be connected, the power is totally 1500 Watts.

Attention:

The fan heater is with overheating protection. If the fan heater is too hot, the heating element will not work. You should disconnect the power code to wait for some minutes until the heater is cold, then it could be restarted again.

WARNING

1. Never attempt to light if the hose appears loose or damaged in any way.

2. Do not press the ignition button for more than 40 seconds.

3. Never disconnect the regulator while cylinder valve or regulator is open.

4. Don't change cylinders with in area in which open fire exists.

5. Don't expose your cylinder to extreme heat.

6. Do not store any other cylinders in the room in which your heater is being used.

7. Do not insert your finger or any other material through the front panel of the heater.

8. Leave at lease 1 meter distance between your heater and any other heat source.

9. Do not let unauthorized persons tamper with your heater.

10. Do not use appliance under electrical socket outlets.

11. Do not use the heater in bathrooms, showers of swimming pool, leisure vehicles such as caravans or auto caravans.
12. This heater must not be used without a gas cylinder fitted for stability purposes.
13. Do not cover your heater. Fabrics, clothing, hangings, net curtains, bed lines and other flammable materials may ignite if placed against the outlets of your heater.
14. In the event of leakage, the appliance should be turned off either at the gas container valve or at the regulator switch-on valve and the regulator disconnected from the cylinder.
15. After use, turn off the appliance at the regulator switch on valve and the regulator disconnected from the cylinder. Turn off the appliance from the container by means of the LPG container isolating valve.
16. Only use in a well ventilated areas
17. The guard on this appliance is to prevent risk of fire or injury from burner and no part of it should be permanently removed. IT DOES NOT GIVE PROTECTION FOR YOUNG CHILDREN OR THE INFIRM.
18. Do not move the appliance when operating, shocks and bumps may activate the safety device.
19. Do not use this heater with a programmer, timer, separate remote-control system or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.
20. The fireguard of this heater is intended to prevent direct access to heating elements and must be in place when the heater is i us. The fireguard does not give full protection for young children and for infirm persons.

STORAGE

1. Disconnect the cylinder and remove from the appliance.
2. Store cylinders in a well-ventilated area away from combustible material. Storage should preferably be outdoors. Cylinders must not be stored be in a basements or in high-rise flats.
3. The heater should be covered in a dry, dust-free area in its original packaging.

CLEANING

1. Use a damp soapy wrung out cloth to clean the exterior and cylinder storage area of your heater.
2. Make sure that no water gets onto the burners or pilot/light area. Wipe the heater completely dry before use.
3. Don't use abrasive cleaners as they may damage the quality of paint finish.

MAINTENANCE

1. Check flexible tubing between regulator and heater regularly and replace If perished, worn or damaged,
2. It is recommended that the heater be serviced every year by a competent person in accordance with the Gas Safety (installations and use) Regulations 1998.
3. If any parts need replacing, they should be replaced only with the correct parts as supplied by the original manufacturer.
4. If no use after a long time term, user should check it if mobile heater does work normally, for example, flexible tubing and regulator are till in valid time, the gas connection from cylinder to heater is without any leakage, the heater can be ignited without light-back, without big noise inside heater.
